Reviews for the Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro

The Poco X7 Pro is probably the best gaming phone at its price and a good enough camera phone for most. Discerning photographers, i.e. anyone who wants RAW capture, reliable results across cameras, and more subdued processing should look elsewhere, but if you don't mind vibrant shots, you can still lean on the primary camera with some confidence. If Poco included RAW capture and Log video (i.e., ways to bypass the aggressive processing), that could have taken the X7 Pro's appeal a little further for imaging enthusiasts; however, the phone still has plenty going for it. The star of the X7 Pro show is the Dimensity 8400 Ultra processor, with the 120Hz AMOLED display, standout styling, and large 6000mAh battery not far behind. With IP68 water and dust resistance, plenty of storage, and fast charging, despite not being one of the best budget camera phones of 2025, the X7 Pro is still one of the best budget smartphones, especially for gamers.

With the Xiaomi Poco X7 and X7 Pro, Xiaomi planned to bring enthusiast-level gaming phones but at a budget, and they have certainly succeeded at that. The two smartphones feature premium hardware in almost every aspect. Let’s start with the design of Poco X7 and X7 Pro. They have a fantastic design, which not only looks good but also feels solid in the hand, especially the vegan leather models. The displays of the two phones are extremely bright and have many of the latest technologies, including Dolby Vision. The performance is also quite satisfactory and they are capable of running games at high graphical fidelity, thanks to the powerful chipsets. The cameras are also fantastic and are capable of taking some amazing pictures, at least from the main rear camera. The selfie camera performance is quite good.

The Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro offers some outstanding specifications for a very low price, though a few caveats take some of the shine off a generally compelling package. Performance levels are unimpeachable, with a level of power that challenges some of the 2024 flagship crowd. The display, too, is sharp, bright and beautifully calibrated and Xiaomi’s IP68 certification remains rare at this end of the market. The provision of a huge 6,000mAh battery also goes above-and-beyond, even if it doesn’t quite result in the truly epic stamina we’d have expected. While a £300(ish) price tag for all this is hugely competitive, however, it’s somewhat annoying that the UK isn’t getting everything, whether that’s the top specification or a bundled 90W charger. Xiaomi’s software provision, meanwhile, remains difficult to love. With all that said, anyone looking for the best performance possible for around the £300 mark needs look no further than the Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro. It’s a highly accessible powerhouse of a phone.

The X7 Pro gets a new design that's easier to hold and use, and the Iron Man edition that I'm using is distinctive. The hardware is among the best in this category, and if you need a gaming phone, there aren't many other devices that come close to what the X7 Pro offers. There's a bigger 6000mAh battery that easily lasts over a day, and the phone gets IP68 dust and water resistance this year. The cameras are better than the X6 Pro, and while they're not the best in this category, you still get decent shots. Combine all of that with an unbeatable value, and the X7 Pro stands out as one of the best budget phones of 2025.

Alright, so you can see that the POCO X7 Pro just kills the Nord 4 in a lot of areas. It has better performance – its gaming results are basically unmatched in its price range. Plus, it has a better display, better build quality, a surprisingly better main camera and slightly better battery life. This year, you can actually say that the POCO X7 Pro is an all-around device, except for the design, I think POCO still needs to work on that! So, if you are someone who uses a case and is okay with the HyperOS experience, the POCO X7 Pro is definitely a much better value this year.

The Poco X models have been among the most successful devices in the mid-range category in recent years, pushing the category's boundaries as they gradually approached the features and capabilities of more expensive competitors. The X7 Pro continues this trend with improved device protection, a larger battery, additional AI features, and an impressive camera. In terms of drawbacks, the pre-installed app load typical of Xiaomi devices remains an issue, and the large screen may not suit everyone. The price remains unchanged, which is significant news. The model reviewed costs around $450, and after upgrading to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, the price reaches around $540, the same as the X6 Pro last year. At this price and with these capabilities, the X7 Pro is definitely one of the most successful and recommended devices in its category.

After spending a good amount of time with both the Poco X7 and X7 Pro, here’s the deal: if you’re looking for a phone that punches way above its weight, the Poco X7 Pro is the one to go for. It’s not just a slight upgrade over the X7 — it’s a proper powerhouse. From its top-tier performance and gorgeous flat display to that massive 6,550mAh battery and 90W charging, it’s a phone that feels like it should cost way more than it does. Gamers, power users, or anyone who wants a premium experience without breaking the bank? This is your phone. That said, the Poco X7 is no slouch either. It’s a solid mid-range smartphone in its own right. It has a beautiful curved display, decent performance, and a camera that holds its own in good lighting.

The POCO X7 Pro delivers a great mix of performance, design, and value. The AMOLED display is sharp and smooth, the processor is fast, and the battery holds up for extended use. The cameras, especially with OIS on the main sensor, make for a reliable photography experience. While expandable storage is missing and the software has a few minor snags, the overall package is hard to fault for the price. If you’re after a well-rounded mid-range smartphone, this one deserves serious consideration. The main thing to note here is that the phone is not available in the US in any direct manner. You won’t find it at any of the carriers so you’ll have to do a little legwork if you’re hoping to grab one of these.

The Poco X7 Pro delivers on its aim of offering gaming power at a lower price. It will out-perform more expensive rivals and I found it a great phone for games, backed by good battery life and that fast recharging. Premium touches like IP68 protection add to the package and is less common on affordable devices. The camera is ok, but it’s not a highlight of this phone. But the software experience could be better. There are a lot of additional apps and services that are added to this device, with adverts appearing when you’re trying to do something simple like change the wallpaper. Some of this bloat can be removed, while many of the changes that step away from a typical Android experience can be turned off, but it’s still more work than it should be. If it’s a cleaner experience you want, then look to Motorola – a phone like the Moto Edge 50 Neo offers a much cleaner experience for around the same price.

The POCO X7 Pro is a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone segment, offering an excellent mix of performance, build quality, and display prowess. It caters to gamers and those who prioritize a vibrant display and a modern design. Its vegan leather finish, IP68 certification, and high-brightness AMOLED display are commendable. However, the cameras, while decent, leave room for improvement, especially in low-light scenarios. Additionally, the software could use refinement, with fewer pre-installed apps to enhance the overall user experience. The battery life is also disappointing given this phone is largely marketed towards gamers who would expect longer endurance. However, fast charging does redeem it a bit in this regard.

The POCO X7 Pro stands out as an excellent choice for performance enthusiasts seeking a flagship-like experience without the high price tag. The smartphone effortlessly handles a wide range of tasks and boasts exceptional battery life. It also offers a high-quality display with impressive features for content consumption. However, its camera performance falls short compared to its other strengths. Priced starting at Rs 26,999, the POCO X7 Pro is a solid option in the midrange segment for users prioritising performance and long-lasting battery life. For those who prioritise camera capabilities, there are other alternatives available at a similar price point.

The Poco X7 Pro ticks all the boxes that a cheap phone should do and then exceeds them. Compared to the competition, it's more powerful for gaming, its display is higher-res and brighter, and its battery is bigger. It’s not going to impress camera phone fans and you’ll have to wait for a few of its software features, but despite those setbacks, the Poco X7 Pro presents a solid package at a low price.

The Poco X7 starts at Rs. 21,999 for the 128GB storage model while the X7 Pro at Rs. 27,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The X7 is a great value proposition for users looking to upgrade to a smartphone under Rs. 25,000 at these prices. While X7 Pro is a better deal, it offers more for less, and thanks to its fresh design approach, it becomes an excellent package under Rs. 30,000. While there are shortcomings, for example, bloatware is the biggest issue for Poco X7 and X7 Pro, whereas the cameras are not class-leading. Additionally, the software update promise isn't comparable to the competition. But, when it comes to performance credentials, the X7 and X7 Pro deliver and can also outshine their competition. The X7 goes up against the iQOO Z9s, which retails at under Rs. 20,000 and the Motorola Edge 50 Neo (Review). For the X7 Pro, the two closest alternatives are the OnePlus Nord 4 (Review) and Motorola Edge 50 Fusion (Review).

The Poco X7 Pro turned out to be an excellent bang for the buck offer. It has a cool and stylish design, a great AMOLED screen and the fastest chip in the class. The battery life and the charging are quite alright, and so are the speakers. We were also impressed by the smoothness of the HyperOS 2 and its AI options. And let's not forget the promised three major Android updates and 4 years of security patches. The camera is mostly mediocre, except for the 2x zoom quality and the video stabilization. The rear cameras get the job done, but there is nothing impressive about the quality. The selfie shooter is one of the worst we've experienced lately, though. If not for the so-so cameras, we would have given an excellent mark for this Poco X7 Pro. But even with these imperfections, the Poco X7 Pro is the most powerful smartphone around the €400 mark with a premium display, cooling, and top-notch battery and charging technologies. And it surely deserves a spot on your shortlists.

The POCO X7 Pro further solidifies the company’s position in the sub-Rs 30K segment, with impressive performance and design. Its standout features include MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, 6,550mAh silicon-carbon battery, and 90W fast charging, establishing it as a compelling option in this range. Furthermore, its vibrant AMOLED display with industry-leading brightness and gaming-focused optimisations make it an appealing choice for both regular users as well as hardcore gamers. However, the X7 Pro isn’t without its flaws. While the camera setup performs admirably in certain conditions, it lags behind competitors in terms of natural colour reproduction and consistency, especially in portraits and selfies.

Deciding between the POCO X7, X7 Pro, and X7 Pro – Iron Man Edition hinges on your needs and priorities. The POCO X7 is a strong contender for those seeking reliable performance on a budget. The durable 5110mAh battery and 45W fast charging ensure you stay powered throughout the day. With its classic design and robust features, the X7 is a practical choice for users looking for value without compromise. The X7 Pro transforms the series with its cutting-edge Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset, providing unmatched speed and exceptional efficiency. There are many nice things to like about the Poco X7 Pro, that’s for sure. The large, bright 6.67-inch display is great for consuming brainrot video content or gaming, which we reckon most of Poco’s target audience is most interested in. Bloatware and ads are major issues in our book. While it doesn’t affect the actual performance of the phone, it makes the day-to-day use rather irritating. If the Poco X7 Pro did not have bloatware, we would easily recommend it wholeheartedly, seeing how it's such good value for specific needs. To a smaller extent, the cameras aren’t the best around, primarily due to the poor performance of the 8MP ultrawide camera. Other midrange offerings like the Vivo V30 and the Honor 200 Pro had relatively better camera performance for a similar price point, so it’s not as if all midrange phones have to cut back here for cost savings.

So, should you buy the POCO X7 Pro? One thing that I am most impressed by is actually the value it provides. At this price point, such performance is actually really good value. The prices of each variant of the POCO X7 Pro are as listed on the screen here – and hey, if you can score it during the early bird promotion – then more power to you. At that price, this is an amazing mid-range phone for gaming.

Just like last year’s X6 Pro, POCO is set to maintain its performance king reputation this 2025 with the X7 Pro. Beyond performance gains, POCO adds better value to the X7 Pro with a upgraded main camera. There’s still room for improvement–HyperOS still has its fair share of optimization issues, and we hope POCO addresses them in future updates to maximize its large 6000mAh battery for day-to-day use.

That’s our review of the PO CO X7 Pro. I’m happy to say that the device has lived up to the expectations that MediaTek’s new chip would deliver. The icing on the cake is the affordable price tag that the device offers. The year of its launch has brought us significant upgrades in almost every segment. These upgrades include design, camera, and performance. There are seven incremental changes to the battery life, which I personally think can still work. If any of our readers are looking for a smartphone that offers great value for money, look no further. Start the new year with a bang (for your buck) with the P OCO X7 Pro.

Poco phones always impress me with how they can deliver such capable hardware for relatively little cash. The Poco X7 Pro is no different. It looks and feels the part, is impressively potent, and lasts multiple days of regular use before needing to refuel. Its main camera can deliver nicely rounded shots during the day, and doesn’t completely fall apart at night either. It’s more of an everyman than the Honor Magic 7 Lite, which has gone all-in on battery capacity for a little extra cash. The Nothing Phone 2a is a more direct rival, with a more distinctive appearance and superior cameras. Poco also needs to do more to reign in how many apps and games are pre-loaded out of the box. That might fly back home, but in the West it’s a sign of cheapness. If that’s the only real indicator the X7 Pro is in bargain basement territory, though, I’d still say that’s a job well done.

The camera setup is rather basic, with a 50MP main shooter complimented only by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. However, the POCO X7 Pro can still capture good looking photos, albeit with a shallow field of depth thanks to the large aperture. Xiaomi's HyperOS 2 comes installed on the POCO X7 Pro 5G out of the box. This adds some decent features and updates the aesthetics, although there's not much Iron Man action despite the limited edition. Gamers will enjoy the Dimensity 8300 'Ultra' performance, which is good enough to play Wuthering Waves on higher graphics settings. Plus the battery life is fantastic even if the POCO X7 Pro doesn't beat the Honor Magic 7 Lite for capacity.
