Reviews for the Xiaomi Redmi 10

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 is a dependable phone that won’t blow your mind, but it won’t hit the wallet too hard, either. Its camera and display tech are fairly basic, but it does offer a sizeable screen with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 90Hz, solid battery life, and it looks great, too. Understandably for the price, there's no 5G and performance is limited, charging is slow and there's no waterproofing. Still, this is one of the best options at under £200 right now if you don't need a phone to be all singing and all dancing.

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 is a budget 4G Android phone whose highlights are not initially what they might appear to be. Xiaomi has deliberately built up the Redmi 10’s camera housing to make it seem advanced, but the camera array you get here is actually mediocre at best. While its primary camera has 50 megapixels to its name, the results are inconsistent and rarely all that pretty. The real strong points are the stereo speakers, even if sound quality isn’t remarkable, solid battery life, and a decently sharp screen. As such, the Redmi 10 isn't as easy to recommend as some real Xiaomi hits of the last year or so, like the fantastic Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro or Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC. Its design and screen could belong to a more expensive phone, but the Xiaomi Redmi 10 is let down by a poor camera and unremarkable performance.

Redmi 10 is Xiaomi's latest entry-level smartphone, it offers us a 90hz FHD+ display paired with the latest entry-level chipset. It is pack with budget-wise specs and features, but we won't be tackling those features but instead, we are going to test its performance. Will it meet the standard on entry-level gaming?

If there’s ever been a phone that quantifies the term “mixed bag”, it’s the Xiaomi Redmi 10. On one hand, we have a well-built design coupled with solid primary and secondary cameras, and extras like expandable storage and the embedded fingerprint scanner in the power button. Plus the Sea Blue colorway just looks great, again, as long as you wipe your phone clean every time you touch it. Then, there’s the incredible battery life offered courtesy of the 5,000mAh cell that doesn’t take much of a hit even with 90Hz enabled. But on the other hand, the LCD display is just disappointing, the 18W “fast” charging feels like a joke with a battery of this size, and the UI lags every chance it gets. Throw in ads pretty much everywhere you turn and it’s easy to understand why this may not end up being as popular as it could be.

For the sub-10K pricing category, the Xiaomi Redmi 10 is still one of the best options out there as our review showed us, especially if you’re living in the Philippines. It does pack some really great features that make this a relatively easy choice but it is a little strange for us to see it not come out on top in our performance benchmarks. Like we mentioned though, it can handle the usual suite of apps we use on a daily basis and for gaming as well and that’s what really counts. It does have a few little things that you could consider a con but they really aren’t massive ones that would make them deal breakers since its other features do tip the scales in the plus column at the end of the day.

Xiaomi is adding yet another budget device via the Redmi 10, (which we’re doing an unboxing on) dropping in the Philippines by September 18. We’ve already started our full review process of the Redmi 10 which should finish in a few days, but until then you can check out our Redmi 10 unboxing for the Philippines below: That’s pretty much it for our Xiaomi Redmi 10 unboxing for the Philippines. The phone looks to be a solid budget contender, though we’re going to keep an eye on the phone’s overall battery consumption because of the battery.

Problems like the absence of 5G connectivity, price, less strong chipset and low selfie camera can diminish the charm of the Xiaomi Redmi 10 smartphone. Still, it wins your heart with its powerful and long-lasting battery. Furthermore, the screen, the main camera and the much stronger processor draw your attention to this model. Another problem could be its global availability, as it is restricted to China only. Within days, the stock was empty. All phones were instantly sold as they came. Redmi has another series which is Redmi 10 Prime smartphone that could fill in the gaps. If you don’t want to wait for Redmi 10, checking out some alternatives might be helpful. You can get better smartphones on a similar budget. So our recommendation for this price would be the Redmi Note 10T with 5g enabled.

Compared to the previous generation Redmi 9, the new version of the Xiaomi Redmi 10 device has received a number of significant changes and, naturally, for the better. On the positive side, I can single out the presence of an updated design and high-quality assembly. I also liked the combination of using matte plastic, which didn’t leave much fingerprints on the back of the smartphone. In addition, the Redmi 10 device has good performance thanks to the new Helio G88 processor. I also liked the quality of the screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The main 50-megapixel sensor showed itself also from a worthy side, as well as the battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. But although there are drawbacks, given their cost, I cannot call them relatively strong. For example, the smartphone did not get the fast speed of the built-in memory. Also I would like to get higher video resolution and others.

Redmi phones have always been an easy recommendation, especially the ones from the vanilla Redmi series. And it's hard not to like a phone like the Redmi 10, which ranges between €160 and €200 and offers a relatively bright 90Hz IPS display, a long battery life, a set of dual speakers, good camera performance, and doesn't miss on any essential features (at least for some users) such as IR blaster, 3.5mm audio jack, dedicated microSD card slot and reverse charging. Nonetheless, things are changing, and more challengers worth considering are emerging. The limited availability of the Redmi 10 can be a setback for its success too. The Redmi 10 is a pretty capable budget phone. It's just that it's not the clear-cut go-to phone to get for affordability like the Redmi 9 was. This time around, there might be some better options out there, depending on your needs.

So, at the end of the day – the Redmi 10. There are a few things that I like about this phone – like having a stereo speaker setup and also an IR blaster – which I find myself using often to control all sorts of appliances around the house, including the camera that I use to take pictures and videos. Packed with that 5,000mAh battery and pretty decent performance overall, it all boils down to the price.
