Reviews for the Xiaomi Redmi K20

Redmi K20 is a polished device from Xiaomi. The device comes loaded with a premium design language and the display looks crisp. The battery performance is decent and you will face no trouble in day-to-day tasks. The daylight camera performance is good, though low light performance could have been better. That said, the Redmi K20 is still a desirable option for those who are ready to shed some bucks.

In the past when Xiaomi has tried not to “be itself” the results have not been up to the mark. However, with the K20 it does seem to have learnt a lot of lessons and may just have delivered a handset that is a toned-down variant but still packs in a lot that delivers results.

Yes. You should. And no, it's not overpriced. The Redmi K20 offers great value at its price. For the Redmi K20, Xiaomi hasn't compromised in any departments, whether it is design, display, performance, software, or battery. The only area I believe the Redmi K20 could have been slightly better is the camera performance, particularly selfie camera performance.

Many say Xiaomi is overcharging for the phone, some even say the phone should be priced at par with the Realme X, which starts Rs 16,999. I beg to differ. The Redmi K20 is a superior smartphone for Rs 21,999.

There has been some outrage over the Redmi K20 being overpriced, with many fans and prospective buyers expressing disappointment that the company did not target the sub-Rs. 20,000 segment. Here's the bottom line, though — the Redmi K20 is the most heavily specced and feature-laden ‘non-flagship' phone under Rs. 25,000 in the market right now, And its day-to-day performance is still extremely impressive considering its price.

Finally, to buy the Redmi K20 or not. Short answer, if you have the money go for it. No questions asked. There’s nothing that is offered by competing devices that the K20 does not offer, save for a microSD card slot. We reviewed the more expensive 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, but we expect performance to be the on the 6GB RAM, 64GB storage variant as well. We do, however, feel that the imaging experience could be improved through software updates, but we wont hold our breath for Xiaomi to get around to it.

The Xiaomi Redmi K20 is quite a good offering in this price segment. It covers all the features that are currently trending — full-screen design, in-display fingerprint scanner, triple rear camera, and a pop-up selfie camera. The phone comes with a good design, an impressive display, solid performance, capable rear camera, and smooth software. The only thing that could have been improved is the pop-up mechanism and the selfie camera. The Redmi K20 is a complete package and for a price of Rs. 21,990 for the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage model, it’s a good buy. Other alternatives for this one includes Realme X and Vivo Z1 Pro. If you are still confused between the Xiaomi Redmi K20 and the Realme X, wait for a couple of days as our review of the Realme X will be out soon.

All of this brings us to the most discussed aspect of the Redmi K20: its price. On the surface, this might seem a little odd, for the K20 is basically the K20 Pro with a different processor (which is not too far behind) and a different main camera sensor (which again, is not too inferior). In fact, the phone is the first in the country to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chip. However, the thing about the K20 is that it comes with a Redmi branding, which many identify with super affordability, which is basically any figure in the vicinity of Rs. 15,000. The Redmi K20 cost significantly more and crosses the unholy (for some) Rs. 20,000 line, which makes it appear slightly expensive. We do not think the discussion about the price of the Redmi K20 would have been as heated or intense if the phone had come from a brand more closely identified with higher-priced phones like Samsung or Vivo.

To conclude, the Redmi K20 is a nicely-designed smartphone that looks distinct as compared to the rest of the specifications. The display is crisp and the in-display fingerprint sensor along with pop-up selfie adds some brownie points. The cameras look promising and the user interface is yet to be tested out. As for the competition is concerned, the smartphone will face stiff competition from the likes of Vivo V15 Pro, Oppo F11 Pro, Samsung Galaxy M40 and more.

So the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro has been launched, and this is Redmi K20 unboxing and review, this is snapdragon 730 powered and this chipset is much much better than the Snapdragon 710 used on Realme X or the Snapdragon 712 used on the Vivo Z1pro.
