The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11T phone comes with a robust battery, a high refresh rate screen, impressive 5G connectivity, and decent camera performance. Overall, this device is a great deal in the mid-range segment, and if you’re getting an online offer when purchasing the device, you should do so right away. But, consider that the basic variant doesn’t offer enough storage, so the superior variant becomes a standard choice. If you’re thinking of buying a decent 5G mid-ranger, the Realme 8s 5G is also worth mentioning. It offers similar features, but this phone is not associated with Xiaomi Umbrella. We will do this if we have to recommend this device to you, except for the basic storage variant. In this review of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11T, you get everything from our first impression of the camera’s features. So choose this phone after analyzing your needs and budget.

When Redmi’s Note series releases in India, the excitement and hype are at an all-time high. There’s a reason behind this, obviously. After all, the Redmi Note series is one of the country’s most well-known brands. It is responsible for a significant portion of Xiaomi’s volume. More crucially, the Redmi Note series has expanded to include a range of SKUs and titles, each with a different pricing point. And it’s for this reason that the introduction of the Redmi Note 11T 5G feels a bit underwhelming. It has a powerful chipset with 5G connectivity, a massive battery, a nice display, and a set of cameras that are decent. So far, this has been the case for almost every 5G phone in this category. The fact is that the 5G tag that brands are chasing comes at a cost, and that cost is still avoidable in India in 2021. Chipsets with an integrated 5G modem aren’t cheap because 5G is still a relatively new technology. The same is true for this one since the Redmi Note 11T 5G seems to have a much higher starting price of Rs 16,999. Let’s see if it is worth its asking price or not.

Redmi Note 11T 5G is a pretty good deal under the sub Rs 20K price bracket. The smartphone offers a sleek and lightweight design, a decent display and processor and not to forget the long-lasting battery and fast charging support. So, if you are also looking for a 5G-enabled smartphone under this budget, then you can consider going for the Redmi Note 11T 5G.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11T is a new entry smartphone in the Note 11 family that offers decent specs and will be released in November 2021. The expected price of the phone is around $249 (Rs 18,999) approx. You will obtain a 6.6-inches IPS LCD display screen that renders a 90Hz refresh rate and impressive pixel density on the top. It includes IP rating and coring glass protection. As for the software layering, you are getting the Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 UI that will soon get the Android 12 update. Under the hood, you will find a 6nm – MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G chipset. As for the camera section, the phone provides a dual-camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera with an 8MP ultrawide, and offers 1080p video recording. Besides this, the 16MP selfie camera grants a decent image process. In terms of battery capacity, you will get a 5000 mAh battery support with a 33W fast charging speed package. Lastly, you can purchase this phone in magnificent shade options of Aquamarine Blue, Stardust White, and Matte Black.

Honestly, I was a little surprised that Redmi decided to debut the Note 11 series in India with the Redmi Note 11T. After all, a new Redmi Note launch is one of the biggest launches in India, so it would have made better sense to bring the successors of the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro Max first since one expects them to be excellent devices. My point is that the Redmi Note 11T seems a little underwhelming to start a new series with since it’s just like any other typical 5G phone in this segment. I would say getting a 4G phone at the end of 2021 or even the beginning of 2022 still makes more sense. 5G isn’t even available in India yet and there’s no confirmed time frame either. Heck, the spectrum hasn’t even been auctioned to telcos yet. Even when it finally arrives, 5G is going to be a lot more expensive than 4G and the availability is going to be limited to certain areas only. A country-wide adoption of 5G networks will require at least another 2 years, and more realistically 3-4 years which is still far, far away.

The Redmi Note 11T 5G is one of the few 5G-ready phones that the brand is offering in the under Rs 20,000 segment. The other option is the older Redmi Note 10T 5G, which launched in July. One thing to note is that rival Realme has more 5G-ready phones in the under Rs 20,000 segment, with Realme 8, 8s, Realme Narzo 30, 30 Pro, etc. In a way, I would call this Redmi’s effort to catch up and offer a 5G-phone to the customer looking for a device in the price bracket. The device has good performance, battery life, and fast charging to offer. The camera, while good, is a bit underwhelming. Perhaps I expect more from a Redmi Note phone overall. For those looking to upgrade their phones urgently, the Redmi Note 11T 5G can be on the list of possible options to consider. However, considering the full Note lineup will be here in another two months, I would suggest waiting and weighing your options, especially if you are in the market for a device under Rs 20,000.

In the 5G mid-segment smartphone, the Note 11T 5G goes head to head with the likes of the Realme 8S 5G, which has the same processor, a 6.5-inch display, and a 5,000 mAh battery, all with a starting price of Rs.17,999. Then there is the Lava Agni 5G which also has the same chipset, comes with a slightly bigger 6.78-inch display and a quad-camera setup but comes with a higher price tag of Rs. 19,999 too. The Redmi Note 11T does seem competitively specced and priced when you bring 5G into the equation, but that apart (and we repeat, 5G is not yet on the Indian horizon, leave alone Indian networks), the phone does not bring any out of the ordinary specs or features (which the Note series generally does) to this price range making it just one of the phones in this segment. With the Redmi Note 11T 5G, the Redmi Note 11 series has come to India, but definitely not THE Redmi Note 11. But, that said, this definitely is THE Redmi Note to go for if you want a Redmi Note with all the futuristic goodness of 5G.

As I mentioned before, the Redmi Note 11T 5G is not the best smartphone in its price category. It's not even in the race. Interestingly, it offers one feature that even the best in this category don't. More interestingly, all findings show that customers priortise that feature over everything else while buying a phone, even though they can't use it as of now. I am talking about 5G. And, that's something that works in favour of the Note 11T 5G. Apart from this, you get a display with a high refresh rate, an improved processor and fast charging support with the charger inside the box. All of this makes the Note 11T 5G a good package. Honestly, I would still buy the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max.

The Redmi Note 11T 5G is priced at Rs 16,999 (6GB / 64GB), Rs 17,999 (6GB / 128GB) and Rs 19,999 (8GB / 128GB). Its most obvious challenger is the Realme 8S 5G (review) which comes with the same MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor, a 6.5-inch full HD+ display, a 64-megapixel main sensor (although with two rather ordinary two-megapixel sensors in support), and a 5,000mAh battery, and starts at Rs 17,999. There is also the recently launched Lava Agni 5G (review), which also runs on the Dimensity 810 processor and comes with a bigger 6.78-inch full HD+ display and a quad-camera setup led by a 64-megapixel camera for Rs 19,999. Take 5G out of the equation (let’s face it, it has not yet arrived in India), and one of the Redmi Note 11T Pro’s headaches is its own cousin, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, which starts at Rs 17,999, has a 6.67-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a superior 64-megapixel main sensor and vastly more eye-catching design, even though it runs on the relatively older and slower Snapdragon 732G chip.

The Redmi Note 11T 5G is the first smartphone in the Redmi Note 11 series to launch in India. Just like its predecessor, the Note 11T 5G is clearly focussed on performance. The Dimensity 810 SoC is powerful and also supports 5G which should be a selling point when networks finally roll out here. MIUI 12.5 isn't as spammy as previous versions but this phone still comes with a sizable number of preinstalled apps. Finally, the big 5,000mAh battery delivers good battery life and the 33W fast charging capability helps keep charge time relatively low. However, the Redmi Note 11T 5G falls short in camera performance and this could discourage people looking for an all-rounder. If cameras aren't high up on your priority list, the Redmi Note 11T 5G will still do. If you are looking for alternatives, the Realme 8s 5G (Review) is worth a look.
