Reviews for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is not a perfect budget phone, but it comes damn close to being one. In most respects, it manages to pull away from the competition, while keeping the price incredibly low. We recommended the Lenovo K3 Note and Meizu M2 Note as excellent budget phones, and the same goes for the Redmi Note 2: It’s better in most respects, yet it costs just a few bucks more than its closest competitors.

At about $170 to $190 (excluding any possibly applicable import fees), the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is a hard phablet to beat, though certainly not unopposed. For around that kind of money, you can get Meizu's m2 Note 5.5-incher, which sports a nearly identical specs list, but comes with a better camera and sweeter battery life. It's arguably the more attractive of the two, also. We've had some troubles with its software, though — in comparison, MIUI is madly powerful, but contained and well-behaved.

If you're shopping for a phone on a tight budget but dislike having to settle for second best, then the Redmi Note 2 is the answer to your prayers. It's powerful, has a fantastic display and packs a brilliant camera, and to cap it off is running one of the best Android UIs you can get.

We wish most of the sequels we're dealing with are like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2. Simple and straightforward, yet absolutely credible. Not that the original posed a particular challenge. The Redmi Note was a simple package and the upgrade doesn't offer anything fancy either. Just higher screen resolution, more processing power, an IR port and fast battery charging.

While flagship Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy S6 might offer more features and functionality, they cost three times as much as Xiaomi's offering and arguably come with a less appealing UI. It's easy to accept the minor things that are missing from the Redmi Note 2 when you consider that you're getting it for just over 100 sheets. The phone sold 1.5 million units in a fortnight in its native China and is proof that Xiaomi's strategy is working - when the company eventually does officially come to the west, you can expect very big things indeed.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is an excellent option, especially when considering its price, with its positives, such as a nice design, powerful processing package, and great software experience, overshadowing any flaws that the device may have.

大尺寸可以让屏幕有更高的分辨率。因而例如字体等的细节将会更丰富。不过另一方面,小屏幕的功耗会较低,而设备也会更轻盈小巧,售价更低。
