The Redmi Note 9 Pro focuses on delivering a value-for-money experience. While the competition pushes the barrier with specs, and price, the Redmi Note 9 Pro sticks to its formula of bringing great performance and good-enough imaging to a price point that is within the reach of most buyers. The end result is a phone that delivers what it promises but ends up coming across as a tad boring.

Priced at Rs 13,999, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro certainly checks most of the boxes. You get a good-looking smartphone, reasonably good viewing experience and solid performance. It has a mid-range processor, 48MP camera, lasting battery — all elements to make sure that you don’t face any issues in everyday usage. We do feel that the software can be one sore point for some users, especially those who are not used to Xiaomi's MIUI.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is a very good mid-ranger with a great value proposition, which has one huge problem. And that is the fact that the Poco X3 exists. On paper, the Poco X3 is everything the Redmi Note 9 Pro is, and then some. And all of this for a very similar, and at times (and in some markets) identical price.

In addition, the bright spots that the party cares about are not missing in parameters such as 33W PD fast charge, 120Hz high refresh screen, stereo dual-amplification, NFC, infrared, linear motor, and Redmi ancestral large battery. On the whole, Redmi Note 9 Pro provides a reliable video camera in the same gear, and from the appearance ID to the paper parameters, it is very cost-effective based on the price of 1599 yuan, which is quite attractive.

It looks like the competition has finally, truly caught up to Xiaomi and the options speak for themselves. There’s something for everyone and the Redmi Note 9 Pro finds itself fending for itself against an increasing array of quality mid-range smartphones. Which one will you choose? With the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max, Xiaomi has really outdone itself in the design department, I just wish it had pushed a bit more on the performance front. The Redmi Note 9 Pro, while a great phone, is in that awkward position where it’s just a little bit cheaper than its far more capable sibling, and not as good value as its nearest rival, the Realme 6.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is a great device, and it would be a no-questions recommendation if it weren’t for the recent arrival of the Realme 6 on the scene. That phone has a better screen refresh rate, although its battery is worse.

Just like before, as many Redmi Note series smartphones primarily focus on the hardware, camera, and battery, this one too packs a punch. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max has a 5,020 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support, a 64 MP quad-camera setup, Snapdragon 720G that’s powerful enough for mainstream gaming, and your daily tasks, and lastly a selfie camera of 32 MP for selfie needs.

Without a doubt, the Redmi Note 9 series sets the benchmark for value-for-money mid-range phones. From feature-packed specs, decent internals, very capable cameras, to cutthroat prices, it is hard to match what both the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro have to offer.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is a great smartphone. It has a lot to offer for a bargain price and will not disappoint its users. Realme may have a phone with a 90Hz display at this price point, the Redmi Note 9 Pro trumps it with a glass design and a larger battery. It is also part of the MIUI ecosystem, which may mean something for a lot of you.

The Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro come with quad-camera systems, almost bezel-less displays and, in contrast to Huawei, access to Google apps and the Google Play Store. They even have 3.5mm headphone jacks. As promised, the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro deliver long-lasting power, solid performance, and very good camera performance for their price category. Overall, if you want a large, well-performing Android phone that doesn't cost a ton of cash, do check these out.

This phone offers decent cameras and a modest IPS display in a sleek and robust form factor. It’s not far from its predecessor, but we do get a more improved lag-free performance with reliable battery life. Of course, there’s some competition today in this price range, but the Note 9 series definitely hasn’t lost its game. For its price, consider this another bang-for-your-buck smartphone.

The phone was launched at Rs. 12,999, but after the GST price hike, the phone starts at Rs. 13999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB version, still it is a good phone for the phone. The punch-hole LCD screen with minimal bezels is good, if you don’t care about AMOLED and Always-on-display, has decent cameras, premium glass body, smooth performance and excellent battery life. Some might miss the AMOLED screen, high refresh rate of at least 90Hz and faster charging, but you have to compromise these considering the price.

But the Redmi Note 9S excels in everything it promises it will, and while it cannot show us the smoothest of MIUIs, it surely impresses with HDR10 skills, a meaningful macro camera, and battery autonomy. These are more than enough by our books and the Redmi Note 9S a phone we can easily recommend.

So that was the detailed Redmi Note 9 Pro Camera Review. So summing up, how good is the Redmi note 9 pro in terms of camera? The Redmi Note 9 Pro with the new Samsung’s GM2 sensor does well in daylight, close up, macros, portrait, video recording and also selfie camera. There isn’t much to complain except for the low light experience which we feel should have been a tad better. Knowing Xiaomi, we expect them to release an update soon to fix the issue. The ultra wide angle camera also needs a bit of improvement.

Xiaomi has been ruling the sub-Rs 15,000 segment with the Redmi Note series since the last 5 years and this year is no different. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has its fair share of issues but when you consider that you only have to pay Rs 12,999 for this one, it seems like an absolute bargain of the year for a smartphone enthusiast. Xiaomi has given the common smartphone user what he/she demanded -- a longer-lasting battery life, bigger display, more premium design and build, and nice cameras all at a price that doesn’t bother your savings.

Overall, the Redmi Note9 Pro does bring many exciting new features. If you care about battery life, this phone is your first choice. The 5020mAh battery easily brings the Redmi Note 9 Pro an edge over everyone else in this segment. The internal hardware and camera updates are also very attractive and really worth the money.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro at Rs 12,999 is definitely an impressive option considering the performance and the battery life. For those still on a Redmi 7, Redmi 8 or even the older Redmi Note 6 Pro or 5 Pro, this is a good upgrade, given the specifications and features. But for those with a more flexible budget, I’d say the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max with the better camera and faster charging would be a more ideal pick.

With over 100 million units sold, the Redmi Note 9 Pro has a huge legacy to live up to. For its price, the base variant is an excellent option, and raises the bar in terms of features and performance. However, this phone is more of an upgrade to the Redmi Note 8 (Review) than the Redmi Note 8 Pro (Review), as its name might suggest, and that's going to be a little confusing for buyers.

All of this sounds like a great deal for the price, and we can understand why Xiaomi chose to forego some of the niceties that others offer. If you do feel a little underwhelmed, there's the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max which is almost identical but gives you a 64-megapixel rear camera, 32-megapixel front camera, 33W fast charging (with an included charger), and more RAM in the base model for a little more money.
