Everything I said in that review applies here. The 144Hz refresh rate display truly is breathtaking, and combined with a Snapdragon 865 processor and up to 12GB of RAM performance across the board is superb. Battery life is impressive and the built-in fan works wonders for gaming.

If you spend the vast majority of the time you're on your phone gaming, you're the exact person the Red Magic 5S is built for. While you can also harness that power for editing videos or similar power-user activities on the 5S, it's clear that this isn't what it was built for. Still, the latest update to the Red Magic 5S has ironed out enough of the bugs that it's a phone you can use for anything.

The RedMagic 5S does what it sets out to achieve: be an eye-catching gaming great. But that still comes with a string of compromises when it comes to everyday 'normal' use.

The RedMagic 5S is a decent phone with flagship specs and an affordable price point. Even if you’re not a gamer, it does offer great value for the price.

The RedMagic 5S is a very interesting proposition. On paper, it’s a really kick butt phone. It’s got crazy specs, a gorgeous display, terrific speakers, and top-notch build quality. On the other side of the spectrum, it’s not IP rated for water or dust which means you’ll have to be super careful with it. That’s really the only downside I see with this phone as everything else on it is superb.

See, RedMagic launched a few new accessories designed to enhance the experience. Including the likes of the Ice Dock for even better cooling, along with the Pro Handle so you can turn the 5S into an Android-powered Switch console. The problem comes in with the general availability of these, as they are not generally available for purchase, or you have to wait upwards of a month for them to arrive. We wish that they would have been more easily accessible, but maybe that will change as we get further away from the launch.

The ZTE Nubia Red Magic 5S’s audio performance scores well for its intended purpose as a gaming device, often outpacing its competitors, such as the Black Shark 3 Pro, which earned an overall score of 55 versus the Red Magic 5S’s 64, and a 68 against the Black Shark Pro 3’s 57 for Playback. Its weaknesses tended to come in non-gaming areas, such as its use as a recording device, or in the fact that its minimum volume is too soft for highly dynamic content such as classical music. In Playback testing, it had an above-average dynamics performance and an excellent artifacts performance. As a recording device it leaves much to be desired, however, with a poor artifacts score and an even worse score in rendering background.

In terms of gaming phones in Canada, the RedMagic 5S is a godsend with all of its power and low price, since competitors like Asus have their gaming phones priced above $1,300 CAD.

Nubia has once again succeeded in producing an excellent gaming phone with the Red Magic 5S, but that's no surprise considering it's almost identical to its predecessor.

Just like its predecessors, the RedMagic 5S has stellar hardware, and the company continues to find innovative ways to maximize the performance of its devices. After being the first to add a fan inside a phone, RedMagic is the first OEM to use silver to help cool its smartphones, and adding the external fan makes it even more suitable for intense gaming sessions. That's combined with the faster storage and what were already top-notch specs to make for a very powerful device.

When we first reviewed the Red Magic 5G, we were pretty sure it has a considerable edge over its competitors in terms of price/performance and feature/performance ratios. But things have changed now, and we have the Asus ROG Phone 3 as an excellent high-end alternative and the Lenovo Legion Duel as a similarly-priced, feature-packed, performance beast.

大尺寸可以让屏幕有更高的分辨率。因而例如字体等的细节将会更丰富。不过另一方面,小屏幕的功耗会较低,而设备也会更轻盈小巧,售价更低。
