Despite this, the Realme 9 Pro Plus remains an unquestionable triumph. Going well beyond its plethora of slick contenders in all the key metrics, there was no doubt that the Realme 9 Pro Plus would instantly earn a recommendation as I closed out this review. With unbeatable performance, staggering stamina, fast charging, a great screen and a class-leading camera system, the Realme 9 Pro Plus is an exceptionally well-rounded handset and it’s one that will take quite some beating in the months to come.

realme 9 Pro+ is definitely a strong mid-range smartphone with a lot of advantages: an interesting design, a high-quality display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, excellent performance hardware, a good main camera with optical stabilization, excellent autonomy paired with fast charging, stereo sound, as well as support for all modern wireless networks and up-to-date software on board. It would seem that what more can be desired? But its price tag, in my opinion, is a little too high at the start of sales, even despite all the many advantages. After all, competitors also have something to oppose to the novelty from realme. Some offer better hardware, a higher display refresh rate, and this smartphone could not do without some small simplifications and nuances. So, realme 9 Pro+ is not yet exactly ‘top for the money’ in terms of price/performance ratio, but just such a solid middleman without significant flaws. In any case, it deserves attention even now, and in the future at a more favorable price it will become an even more attractive option.

On the other hand, the battery is nice, both in terms of capacity and charging. The performance is fine, the screen is also very nice, and the most enjoyable is the quality of the photos, which in my opinion stands out beyond the price range of this model. Taking all this into account, this phone, despite its shortcomings, remains recommendable.

We loved the OnePlus Nord 2, and our only real gripe with it was that mediocre battery life. With the 9 Pro+, Realme gives us a very similar phone, but improves upon the battery life thanks to a more efficient chipset. You still get a glass back and front, flagship imaging and reliably good performance, not to mention very fast charging. The Realme 9 Pro+ also edges ahead of the Nord 2 by packing double the storage. In the UK, it’s available in a 256GB version, and costs £50 less than the Nord 2. This makes the phone excellent value. As for other competition, much of it comes from the Realme camp – the cheaper Realme GT2 Master Edition packs a much more powerful processor but a worse camera. Finally, Xiaomi’s budget brands, Poco and Redmi offer viable alternatives, with the Poco F3 out-classing the 9 Pro’s power and screen quality, and the Redmi Note 11 Pro costing less. Despite all these alternatives though, we’d pick the Realme 9 Pro+ over most of the competition given its excellent camera and ample storage

For the specs and camera technology, it is priced at 23,990 which is a bang for the buck kind of thing. Realme’s mid-range offering with that price point is a go-to in terms of specs with the Dimensity 920 and Mali G68 really stands out in the market today. There is a lot of smartphone industry that now opted for MediaTek’s Dimensity since it is a stronger chipset than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. However, Snapdragon chipsets have better optimizations on most of the games in the market today. The Realme 9 Pro Plus has a flagship design and build but with a mid-range price point which is a win-win situation if you’re a gaming or camera type of person. The Realme 9 Pro Plus camera is something we should consider for its price. It gives an amazing output of images and videos plus if you are a hardcore gamer, it could suit you best if you have a budget playing around with that amount. For the extra feature and aesthetic, you should definitely get the Sunrise Blue colorway for the Light Shift design.

There's no denying that the Realme 9 Pro Plus is a fantastic smartphone to use. The smartphone boasts a good high-refresh-rate display, has a nice size, and is also suitable for gaming, with some unique traits like heart rate monitoring and colour-changing design. Everything about the phone, from the screen to the fantastic cameras to the long battery life, has been fine-tuned to meet the needs of the user. You get a lot for Rs 24,999, notably the amazing camera experience. Those who aren't big on photography but need a smartphone that does everything well will also love the 9 Pro Plus. Binge-watchers will appreciate the vivid, rich display and dual speakers, while gamers will appreciate the smooth performance.

Summing up this review, after having used the Realme 9 Pro+ for over a month now, it’s certainly grown on me. This is not your typical value-for-money phone that prioritizes sheer performance over everything else. And gamers will be better off with Snapdragon 870-powered phones from last year like the iQOO 7, Mi 11X, POCO F3, and such for a little extra money. Still and all, the Realme 9 Pro+ would’ve been an absolute slam dunk if the company had somehow managed to go with Dimensity 1200 or even Snapdragon 870 chip. Also, Realme’s got to sort out all those major and minor concerns I talked about earlier like HDR playback on OTT platforms, future updates, and everything else.

We don’t know what kind of magic Realme is pulling over there. Obviously, the company is just a sub-brand of Oppo, but what Realme is doing with its budget and mid-range phones feels a lot like the early days of OnePlus. But instead of trying to launch in new markets with an archaic invite system, Realme has just exploded onto the scene with competitive pricing and even more impressive results. I thoroughly enjoy using the Realme 9 Pro+, and while I don’t know if I would use it as my daily driver, it’s definitely a contender. Considering that I’m someone who primarily uses flagship phones, it means a lot to me that a phone stood out to this extent. One can only hope that Realme continues to impact the market in different ways, and hopefully, we’ll see the company enter the U.S. market.

To wrap things up, let’s talk about the price. Locally, the realme 9 Pro+ now has an SRP of PHP 23,990 (8GB + 256GB). It got some minor upgrades from the regular 9 Pro version that can cater to specific users’ wants such as better cameras, fast charging, and a more vibrant AMOLED display. Unless these aren’t a big deal for you, then the lower 9 Pro might be a better choice, or yet, you can still even consider last year’s realme 8 Pro if 5G connectivity isn’t your priority.

The Realme 9 Pro Plus smartphone is worth recommending for those who want to buy mid-range phones. The fluid Super AMOLED display, attractive look, up-to-date Android OS are surely a plus point of this smartphone. However, the cons like no IP rating, SD card slot, others make it a bit over-priced. We have covered the disadvantages of this phone in a separate section. But you can consider this phone for its plus points and it might be a great deal for Realme fans. However, if you want to grab the best value-packed option, there are tons of choices offered in the market. Therefore, one must check out the competitive alternatives like the Realme GT Master or Vivo iQOO U5 before making the final call as per your need.

The Realme 9 Pro Plus offers a genuine top grade option for anyone willing to pay up to £350 for their next smartphone – especially if photography is a priority. It might not be as powerful as the Poco F3, and its display isn’t quite as fluid, but its 50MP main camera punches way above its weight. For sheer image quality and low light poise, it fills the mid-range spot vacated by the Pixel 4a. It’s also simply a very well balanced phone, with perfectly adequate performance and an appealing 6.4-inch OLED display. Fast charging completes a remarkably well judged mid-range package.

We will have our full review soon so that we can identify if the realme 9 pro plus is a value for your money.

The realme 9 Pro+ is an eccentric device with its own personality, but that comes at a slightly higher price for a phone with these specs. The under-display fingerprint scanner’s placement is a daily annoyance and the camera’s quality is hit-and-miss in most situations. If you’re on a tight budget and specifically want the phone for the colour-shifting design, the regular 9 Pro that starts at RM949 might be a better option, if you don’t mind the lack of AMOLED or the rapid 60W charging. To be clear, I actually like this phone and think that anyone who purchases it for its aesthetics won’t regret it. The only reason I am not personally recommending it is because I’m a stickler for value, and there are a few options out there that can objectively outperform the phone for the same price.

The Realme 9 Pro is a classic case of a company making too many compromises to undercut the competition. Unfortunately for Realme, those compromises are significant enough to degrade the user experience, be it the sheer amount of pre-loaded apps and ads, the iffy performance, or even the lackluster HDR performance from an otherwise stellar sensor. The secondary cameras don’t really shine either, and the lack of a long-term update guarantee raises eyebrows. Overall, the Realme 9 Pro Plus comes across as a strictly average phone without any standout qualities that put it ahead of the competition. In fact, Realme’s own hardware like the Realme GT Master Edition (£329/Rs. 25,999) offers a more consistent experience for just a little more money, while the Samsung Galaxy A52s (£409) is a more well-rounded phone with a long-term software support guarantee. Meanwhile, the India-only Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge (Rs. 26,999) handily outpaces the Realme 9 Pro Plus with a brighter display, faster charging, and, arguably, a better design.

While the Realme 9 Pro+ and the 9 Pro might seem as though they have overlapping specifications, they clearly belong in different categories, given the brand's hardware choices for both these smartphones. The Realme 9 Pro is priced starting from Rs. 17,999 offers a 120Hz refresh rate display, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 64-megapixel primary camera, which actually make it seem better than the 9 Pro+ on paper. However, the Realme 9 Pro+ has an AMOLED display that can reproduce deeper blacks, 60W charging support, and a more advanced primary camera sensor plus OIS. So, despite their similar pricing, the audiences for these two phones should be quite different. The Realme 9 Pro will appeal to gamers who want a higher screen refresh rate, while the 9 Pro+ is clearly aimed at those looking to shoot better photos. As for the competition, the Xiaomi 11i seems to offer the best value at this price point with similar or slightly better hardware. There's also the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge (Review) which is capable of 120W charging.

So, at the end of this review, we can safely conclude the Realme 9 Pro+ is an excellent smartphone despite a couple of setbacks - but hey, no phone is perfect. Its price is not what we expected. We'd recommend this Realme 9 Pro+ immediately after its first price cut/promo deals go live, and we all know those are coming sooner rather than later - Realme does these all the time. Until then, we suggest keeping this phone on your shortlists and exploring all available offers that fit your budget before deciding on your next smartphone.

I think the Realme 9 Pro Plus is an out-and-out phone meant for photography enthusiasts. Although I do not mean to say this phone will not suit other needs, such as gaming, this phone has everything the shutterbug in you needs from a high-end phone without paying that price. The 50-megapixel camera can click amazing photos, while extra frills such as street mode give you features to experiment with. The optical image stabilisation is what creators will love, while the fast processor will make sure editing is a smooth sail. Those who are not into photography much but want a phone that is fairly good in all aspects will also like the 9 Pro Plus. Its crisp and rich display and stereo speakers will make binge-watchers happy, while games run well enough on the phone if you do not mind graphics settings a notch below the best. In my opinion, gamers can look for a better option, such as the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge, but for everyone else, the Realme 9 Pro does bring a lot to the table. And the fact that it brings all that for Rs 24,999 makes it an appealing choice.

The Realme 9 Pro+ is an example of a phone that needs a second and harder look to really appreciate its value. At first glance, this model seems like a bland handset that relies on a visual gimmick to get noticed, and some people might, unfortunately, stop at that. It would be a shame, though, since the phone really does have more to offer. It might not be the fastest kid on the block, but its camera chops will definitely leave a lot of owners satisfied. It delivers a solid set of features, especially when it comes to the display and sounds, and packs battery life that won't leave you too worried. Sure, Realme could have slapped on a microSD card for good measure or pushed the refresh rate up to 120Hz. But with a starting price of around $240, it's actually not that bad overall.

Compared to its previous generation, the Realme 9 Pro+ is leap and bounds ahead thanks to much-needed upgrades. With a 90Hz AMOLED display offering fantastic handheld entertainment, a speedy MediaTek processor offering 5G capabilities, and a battery capacity that’s made to last, you’d be hard pressed to find an Android smartphone that can deliver this much for a more affordable price. While I wouldn’t call it a flagship killer smartphone on the same level as the OnePlus 9 or Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, it still delivers everything many general smartphone users would want — especially since the 50MP Sony IMX766 camera can take some brilliant shots. The Realme 9 Pro+ makes its way onto our best budget smartphones list, but if you have the extra cash to splash, then you’ll find you may not have to pay much more for some of the contenders on our list of best smartphones.

The Realme 9 Pro+ is a great camera phone for its asking price of Rs 24,999. While you may get an alternative in the form of more powerful phones like the Poco F3 GT or the Nord 2, Realme has made significant advancements in mobile photography. If a camera phone is what you desire, the 9 Pro+ will undoubtedly serve you well. It gets a lead in the performance department over the 11i Hypercharge and Vivo V23 and is capable of offering a sustained performance. The battery life is at par with the competition and you can get it quickly charged. Though, not as fast as the 11i Hypercharge. Realme has provided a great mix of features that complement each other, be it the 90Hz AMOLED display and the Dolby-tuned stereo speakers or the 50MP main camera with OIS support. All of this and more, make the Realme 9 Pro+ a value for money offering.

The Realme 9 Pro+ has left us vastly surprised! After years of sub-par cameras, Realme finally has a sub-Rs. 30,000 phone that absolutely dominates as far as camera performance is concerned. The night photography performance is splendid and even in daylight, it is going to make a lot of you happy. Obviously, Realme can still tune it better to get the colour science livelier, and maybe make the ultra-wide photos as well as selfies look more natural. Nonetheless, this is easily the best camera phone we have seen at this price in a long time! Move beyond the cameras and the Realme 9 Pro+ is a capable mid range phone. It runs fast and smooth, has a good battery life, a decent display, and fast enough charging. However, Realme UI 3.0 is full of bloatware and adware, which is something it needs to pay attention to. Xiaomi’s older MIUI 12.5 and MIUI 13 are a lot cleaner, and better organised in comparison. And, when compared to the competition, the Realme 9 Pro+ isn’t an easy pick. The Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge has its blisteringly fast 120W charging tech that alters the way you use a phone.

Realme proves it’s a mid-range champion with its first Pro Plus phone. The camera, processing power and charging speed all trump same-price rivals, and it also stands out with a novel color-changing rear and built-in heart rate monitor. The Realme 9 Pro+ has some notable features for a mid-ranger, with an impressive main camera lens, an aesthetically pleasing design, a decent battery life, and user-friendly software. The inconsistent charging and underwhelming secondary cameras make it clear that this isn't quite the flagship killer that Realme is promising, but at this price it was never going to be. For sub-£350 there is still a lot to enjoy – it all depends on what you’re willing to compromise on.
