The Realme Book has some issues, but those are easily forgiven in the face of what is a great notebook — not just for Realme’s first laptop, but for this category in general. When it comes to direct MacBook Air competitors, the obvious thought always hangs over me: you could just put up a little more cash and get a MacBook Air, which will be more powerful and have a better battery life. But that isn’t always an option for folks. So for what the Realme Book is, you get a good ultra portable at an impressively affordable price. If you need something small and lightweight for conquering the daily workload and enjoying casual entertainment on the go, Realme has made a seriously tempting option — so it’s a shame that most of us can’t buy it.

For being the brand’s first laptop, the Realme Book Slim is pretty impressive. It may fall behind the competition a bit when it comes to direct spec-for-spec comparisons and price, but it still offers a great value if you’re matching it up against some of the bigger players like Lenovo and Dell. With this being Realme’s first laptop, they’ve delivered a very solid device that they can be proud of. If you like the look and are fine with the battery performance, you’ll definitely be happy if you choose the Realme Book Slim for your next laptop.

Realme Book is the first show of realme in the PC field. It has a price that is close enough to the people. In terms of appearance, workmanship, screen, performance, heat dissipation, and many other aspects, it has brought dazzling performance beyond traditional brand products of the same level. Based on the basic experience, it has quite strong strengths. With the continuous enrichment and improvement of the cross-screen interconnection ecosystem in the future, it is believed that realme’s notebook products can gain stronger market competitiveness. For the actual purchase, it is recommended that you buy the 16GB version. On the one hand, the price difference is not big, and the fully-fitted screen will make the texture of the whole machine a new level.

realme Book Review Philippines: Good Start

The realme Book impressed us in our review for the device in the Philippines. It does have a few minor issues like limited port selection and the slightly dim screen, but that’s more or less negated by its good feature set as well as higher than average performance VS similarly-specc’d laptops. The laptop’s price is pretty attractive as well, especially if you pre-order since realme will be taking a fair chunk off of the laptop’s intended SRP.

The realme Book is not the perfect machine, but it certainly gets a lot of things right. It manages to fit in a 14-inch 2K display, a large trackpad, powerful silicon, and decent battery life. It houses all of that in a sleek and sexy package, while in an insanely affordable price range. With an SRP of PHP37,990 for the i3 version and PHP47,990 for the i5 version, the realme Book is definitely now one of the most attainable premium laptops in the Philippine market. I was initially expecting the prices to be slightly lower, though you still generally get what you’re paying for with the actual prices. This is genuinely a good first attempt from a company that was never known for laptops, and if they can learn from the shortcomings of this pilot release, then they can end up being a force to reckon with in the years to come.

Realme launched its first laptop at a time when laptop sales have surged thanks to the rise in demand for portable work and school computers last year. Then again, the PC market has always been filled with laptops bearing nearly the same specs, varying in design, proprietary technologies, and prices to stand out from the rest. More than any other laptop, the Realme Book Slim is really the sum of its parts. It’s hardly the only 14-inch laptop with a 2K display, nor is it the thinnest, the lightest, or the cheapest in the market. With a price tag of roughly $800 for the Core i5 model, however, it could very well be one of the thinnest 14-inch laptop with a 2K display under $1,000. Sadly, the short battery life and noisy fans sour the deals a bit, but there will always be some people that will be able to live with these flaws for something that can offer them more for less.
