另外一个实用的设计是键盘背光，给人以很好的整体印象。它在电池续航上的表现也让人印象深刻，几乎没有其他任何一款游戏本可以运行超过10小时的时间。不过它的便携性源自于采用了性能较弱的处理器。Core i5-4210U在很多游戏中都成为了瓶颈，因此GTX 860M的性能也难以得到最大程度的发挥。

由于这一点，很难说Alienware 13是否可以胜任未来的游戏。以后的游戏可能无法流畅运行——不论你选择多低的细节设定。这让戴尔坚持提供图形加速器也有些失去意义。这个外置显卡盒只在搭配更强劲的双核处理器或四核处理器的情况下才有意义。桌面显卡难以避免的会受到这颗15瓦处理器的限制。

处理器成为了它没能获得高过82%得分的瓶颈。较硬的触控板按键和扬声器的小问题也影响了它的最终得分。不过，如果你需要一台小巧的游戏本的话Alienware 13仍然是一个不错的选择。13寸或14寸的高端笔记本仍然十分少见。
