The Asus TUF Dash Fl5 is one of the more affordable gaming laptops around, and there are positives to find beyond the price. It has the pace to tackle mainstream games and esports titles, its CPU can handle everyday computing and it has a decent screen in a relatively slim, light chassis. In plenty of areas, though, the F15 is average. It has one of the slowest RTX 3070 laptop implementations we’ve seen, the CPU isn’t great in multi-threaded software and the Asus has inconsistent thermal performance and underwhelming speakers. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. The Asus is a capable everyday laptop, but spending more will buy you better performance and quality.

Asus is a name to reckon with in the gaming laptop segment, while their ROG series is top of the line, the TUF gaming laptops offers a clever mix of value for money and gaming power needed. I got here the 2021 Asus TUF Dash F15 laptop powered by Intel i7 11th gen and GeForce RTX 3070 GPU for review. If you are looking for a good looking gaming laptop that you can also carry around for work, this could be a laptop to consider. Go ahead with my review to find more.

The ASUS TUF Dash F15 is one of the most interesting laptops in the series so far. It’s the company’s solution to provide people with mobility, functionality, and durability all at a relatively affordable price. Although it’s not without any problems of its own, it still checks the boxes with its good performance, great battery life, and aesthetically pleasing form factor. If there are things that could be improved, it would certainly be the addition of a built-in webcam, so we could at least have biometric login and maybe a more neutral backlight color for a more professional look. But at this price along with its performance, there’s not much to complain about other than that. Sadly this particular configuration is not available in the Philippines, but at least we get a sneak peek of what the ASUS TUF Dash F15 is fully capable of.

The ASUS TUF Dash F15 isn’t the best gaming notebook, but it gets a pass if you are looking for a laptop that offers a good balance between performance and portability. It’s easy to carry around, looks neat, and with up to 7-8 hours of battery life, it should be a great companion for when you want to work from that new coffee shop you always wanted to visit.

The four cores run at a decent speed but require much more power than you would expect, and this clearly demonstrates that Intel cannot get the desired clock speed from their 10nm CPUs in an elegant manner so instead they resort to brute force. In the very near future we expect to see Tiger Lake Core i9 CPUs with eight cores, and while there is the outside chance they will deliver the goods we predict that Tiger Lake Core i9 is going to suffer when compared to mobile AMD Ryzens.

Asus has always been very aggressive when it comes to pricing its TUF series laptops. This one is no different. The base variant with RTX 3060 graphics costs Rs 1,39,990, while the top model with RTX 3070 graphics is just Rs 1,000 more than the base.

The Dash F15 is a great laptop with a good balance between performance and portability, for what I think is a small target group of people, which makes this a hard recommendation for the masses. This is further aggravated by the lack of a webcam, a fundamental necessity for a working professional during the pandemic years. However, if you do fall in that third space and want a machine that aims to be the second-best at both performance and portability, the Dash F15 is a great buy.

A decent gaming performer with some nice specification options - at a price tag that isn't going to make you cry. So what more could you want? Well, there are other options that can squeeze out yet more performance if that's extra important to you - and you've got even more available to spend, of course.

Stylish, compact, powerful and with all the little refinements that separate a good gaming laptop from the notebook herd, the Asus TUF Dash F15 has it all. A webcam would have been nice and a less dull display than the 144Hz panel that adorns the RTX 3080 laptop would have been better, too, but when those are the only criticisms you can make you know you’ve got a pretty decent product on your hands. Overall, it’s an outstanding gaming laptop at a highly competitive price.

On the downside, the SD card slot is not the only thing missing – you won’t get a Web camera either. This is a bummer in the times we live, and we can’t tell why ASUS hasn’t done their best to put one, or at least include one in a bundle. Also, the laptop gets pretty loud and hot on the outside, so we would advise an external keyboard, and a good set of headphones.

Not only is it unusable for video meetings (again, no webcam), but it probably won’t meet the bar for more heavy-duty tasks like video production or even a daily load of apps like the ones I use. And for gaming, this slim machine’s RTX 3070 isn’t as powerful as I would want for a long-term investment like this, especially because I’m not convinced it has the chops to brave the next wave of demanding games in a year or two.

Having used the TUF Dash F15 for the last weeks, it kind of grew on me. It proved to be a snappy and efficient daily multitasker, as well as a better gamer than I expected from a laptop built on a 4Core platform in 2021. Yes, the 4C Tiger Lake H35 processor is a tough sell, but it will make sense later in the year once this series is available with mid-tier Ampere graphics and at more affordable prices. And that's because this can truly game, with minor performance bottlenecks in the recent AAA games, but also because it's a well-balanced package, ticking the right boxes when it comes to the design, screens, inputs, connectivity, and thermals/noise levels. We'll get in-depth on all these aspects in the detailed review down below.

That said, the TUF Dash F15’s gaming performance is only status quo with last-generation gaming notebooks since its GPU is constrained to a low power level; from what we are seeing in the early going, not all RTX 3070 notebooks are created equal. At least it runs relatively cool and quiet. Value-wise, our $1,699 test model looks great in white, but it’s pricey next to the dark gray $1,449 Best Buy model that offers nearly identical features. The entry-level $1,099 Best Buy model looks like an even better value. If you do decide to go TUF, just remember to also budget for an external webcam.

The Asus TUF Dash F15 rolled into the new year with style. While all the other laptops decided to stick with a depressing grunge look with dreary grays and blacks, the TUF Dash F15 said, “Hey, let’s have an all-white party!” The TUF Dash F15 also has a sturdy design that matches its name — its military-tested chassis is, indeed, a “tough cookie” that can take a beating.

Asus used a new cooling system with a large heat spreader and five copper heat pipes, 83-blade fans and a self-cleaning module to keep as much dust out as possible. The laptop also has two-way AI noise cancellation for chat and DTS:X Ultra technology for 7.1-channel virtual surround for stereo headsets or speakers. What you won't find is a webcam -- an odd move given how much more time people are spending on video chats.

To sum up this review, the Asus TUF Dash F15 makes quite the statement for itself. This gaming laptop arrives in a relatively lightweight body and offers an impressive battery life. Also, its military-grade durability, well-spaced keys, and gaming performance are pretty decent for the price as well. Having said that, Asus has used a literally underpowered GPU here—whereas the quad-core CPU powering the laptop isn’t the most powerful choice for a gaming laptop either. So, if you can sacrifice portability for sheer power, then there are better options to shop for. On the flip side, if you’re indifferent to the minor dip in performance, then this is still a decent gaming laptop for its price.

ASUS has an impressive gaming laptop here with a couple of different configurations to choose from, along with including two of the latest graphics cards to hit the market. If you were to ask me whether you should buy the TUF Dash F15, I would say yes almost instantly. There are some other laptops out there that would cause some hesitation, like the new Razer Blade 14, but the starting price for that is much higher than the high-end TUF Dash F15. Overall, there are a few gripes to have, like the lack of being able to customize the keyboard’s RGB. Or missing out on a built-in webcam. Or even the frustration with the rear-firing speakers that could be easily covered up depending on how the laptop is positioned on your lap. But the truth remains that the TUF Dash F15 is a great combination of performance and versatility, and it can handle just about everything you need to throw at it.

For RM5499, the ASUS TUF Gaming Dash F15 FX516PM is a decent enough option featuring the GeForce RTX 3060. But considering the fact that you will not get to enjoy the full performance of the GeForce RTX 3060 in the ASUS TUF Gaming Dash F15 due to the CPU here, you might as well save some money and get the option with a slower GPU. This is a great laptop, just not one that can really take full advantage of a GeForce RTX 3060 or higher.

As you can tell by now, we’re throwing a fair bit of assumptions here, but I’d say it’s wiser this way given the past struggles with the TUF/Zephyrus G models with whom this 2021 Asus TUF Dash F15 shares many in common. I should have a proper review up in the following weeks and hopefully, fill up all the blanks and answer all the questions. In the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it in the comments section down below.

The TUF Dash F15 is an interesting offering by ASUS. Our review model comes with a price tag of S$2,198, and the most apt way for me to describe it is a high-end notebook in the budget-level category. And I say this with a tinge of fondness because I don't think there's another competitive notebook in the market now that offers a good balance between performance and portability. The TUF F15 is easy to carry around, has an impressive battery life, decent gaming performance, great productivity performance and actually feels kind of premium too. It's a decent gaming notebook at best, so if you're looking for high-end gaming performance then there are obviously better, and more expensive, choices. But if these don't matter, then the ASUS TUF Dash F15 could make for a worthy mobile gaming companion for you.

While the laptop features a Thunderbolt 4 port that can act as an external display port and provide type-c fast charging, it doesn’t come bundled with the fast charging adapter (purchased separately) and comes with the default 200W AC power adapter for power instead. It is weird ASUS did not include the fast-charging adaptor as an optional add-on for the package. With its AC power adapter, however, the laptop took about 1 hour 40 minutes to charge from 0% to full. All in all, the TUF Dash F15 has an extreme portability superiority over its competitor’s thanks to its durability, performance and lightweight design. If there was one portable system you need as a travelling companion, the TUF Dash F15 is no doubt one of the market’s best options right now.

The ASUS TUF Dash F15 has certainly met our key expectations of an all-rounder notebook computer that’s suitable for today’s work from home environment. It also showcases the improvements to notebook technology with today’s latest hardware components, particularly the 11th Gen Intel Core H-series processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050Ti. Its modernized design with less focus on “gaming” pretentiousness makes it suitable for any kind of usage environment, be it for work or play. It’s also considerably portable at 2Kg and even has a decent battery life. The only gripe we had with this notebook is the lack of a built-in webcam, which is essential for many remote work and learning use cases today. It’s rare to see a notebook computer that strikes a balance between performance, design, portability and price.

The Tiger Lake H35 and RTX 3050Ti configuration is also a lot better balanced and more affordable than the higher-tier variants, and the best suited for this chassis, but Asus might have just nailed this product for some of you with their inadequate 144 Hz panel, which could be a deal-breaker in this day and age. If you are looking at an affordable RTX 30-series gaming laptop at under 1k, yes definitely worth a look. For a relatively affordable price, you will be getting pretty top-of-the-line updated features. If you don’t need a gaming laptop, opt for this Acer Aspire 5 notebook. It got the newest 11th Gen Intel i7 CPU rather than the 10th Gen of i5, and RTX 30-series GPU rather than the 20-series. Add that to the Thunderbolt 4, 144Hz gorgeous screen, Wi-Fi 6, Ethernet port, 3200MHz RAM, Backlit Keyboard, and SSD. You’ll be getting a powerhouse in a 4.4 lbs attractive package. ASUS TUF Dash F15 TUF516PE-AB73 is not the best on the market but is a worthy contender, if you want better than this one, then you’ll need to pay more.

Finally, you have a midrange, portable laptop in the Asus TUF Dash 15 that expertly balanced performance, practicality, and value. Though its Intel “Tiger Lake” Core i7 has only four processing cores, it manages to offers plenty of pep for the latest AAA games when paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti mobile GPU. The Dash TUF 15 is inherently practical with its comfortable keyboard and superb battery life. That said, its gaming performance is only status quo with its last-generation gaming notebooks since its GPU is cast to a low power level, from what we’re seeing in the early run, not all RTX 3050 notebooks are created equal. At least this runs relatively cools and quiet. Value-wise, the Asus TUF Dash 15 (TUF516PE-AB73) looks great in dark gray, and it looks like an even better value than competing portable gaming laptops. If you do decide to for TUF, just remember to also budget for a good external webcam.

在刚刚回顾了配备GeForce RTX 3070图形的TUD Dash F15之后,让我们看看它与价格较低的GeForce RTX 3050选项相比如何。当然,较小的GPU更慢,但它在其他关键领域也令人失望。

The TUF Dash F15 is not the fastest performing laptop for its configuration (so far that’s the Dell G16), but it’s not far behind. It keeps most of the performance while shaving off a lot of weight and thickness. Especially if you see this beast on sale, you will get a lot out of this sleek, adaptable package—although it retails for $1,300, you can customize performance with features normally reserved for higher-end models. At the same time, there are a few things holding the Dash F15 back. Its mediocre base screen, webcam, and audio feel inappropriate for a laptop this expensive. If you’re after the best performance possible, the Dell G16 and Asus ROG Strix G15 AMD Advantage blow the TUF Dash F15 away and have bright, vivid screens with 100% sRGB color coverage. If you’re after a highly mobile gaming laptop, the all-AMD Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is a much more compact machine with better performance, a much better display, and nine hours of battery life. Ultimately, the TUF Dash F15 is a good choice if you want to spend $1,500 or less on a gaming laptop, with acceptable performance and features across the board (even if none are outstanding). It’s notably far improved over its predecessor, the Dash A15, and it offers a unique combination of ergonomics, portability, and flexibility that are tricky to nail at this price point.

The Asus TUF Dash F15 is a strong gaming laptop for gamers who are willing to spend a little more for that edge. The graphics card does its job and the screen looks nice, but some software issues and odd port placement hold this laptop back from true greatness.

The TUF Dash is Asus's most affordable all-purpose/gaming laptop series at this point, and a lot more powerful than the previous generation in this 2022 update. It's still a thinner and lighter alternative for the full-size TUF Gaming models, and is still an Intel-exclusive design, but it is a balanced performer and competitively priced in most regions, thus an option to consider if you're shopping on a lower budget. Just be careful about that FHD 144Hz screen option and aim for a configuration with the FHD 300Hz display, if available in your area.

Asus once again delivers a portable, nice-looking and super-powerful midrange gaming laptop without going too hard on your pockets. The Asus TUF Dash 15 expertly balanced performance, practicality, and value. Again, its Alder Lake Core i7 processor offers more performance cores than its predecessor, giving you more pep for the latest AAA games when paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 mobile GPU. The Dash TUF 15 is inherently practical with its comfortable keyboard and superb battery life. That said, its gaming performance is only status quo with its last-generation gaming notebooks since its GPU is cast to a low power level, from what we’re seeing in the early run, not all RTX 3060 notebooks are created equal. At least this runs relatively cool and quiet. The FX517ZM-AS73 will play the latest titles at high settings, but Asus hasn’t fully solved the performance conundrum of a slim gaming laptop with the Dash 15. It performs similarly to the Acer Predator Helios 300 with a 10th gen Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia’s RTX 3060 graphics card.

To summarize this review, we must say that not only does this ASUS TUF 3060 laptop look great with its metal chassis, but it is also a beast machine as well. With the new 12th Gen Intel i7-12650H CPU and RTX 3060 GPU, this machine delivers the performance for gaming and demanding PC work. The 16GB memory out of the box, the military-grade design, 144Hz IPS display, and other specifications make this 2022 TUF Dash 15 FX517ZM-AS73 the best package you can probably find at this price point.

Yes, for the price, it’s a solid gaming laptop even though the competition offers better, especially for anyone looking for a gaming and work machine. The TUF Dash F15 in this review isn’t the most powerful gaming laptop in this price range, and it isn’t the most stylish, but it does what it’s set out to do fine. If you can buy it on a sale, you’ll squeeze a lot of value out of this sleek, adaptable package – and even at its current price, it offers peppy performance with features normally reserved for top-tier models. Again, the few things holding the Dash F15 from being the absolute gaming beast don’t affect gaming. Its mediocre base screen and uninspired audio can be remedied by a pair of gaming headphones and the screen isn’t completely gross. However, if you need the best performance possible, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro and Asus ROG Strix G15 AMD Advantage blow the Dash F15 out of the woods with bright, vivid screens with 100% sRGB color coverage. Elsewhere, if you need a highly portable gaming laptop, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 is a much more compact machine with better performance and packs a much better display and up to nine hours of battery life. That said, if your budget dictates that you can only spend $1,500 or less on a gaming laptop, the Asus TUF Dash F15 is a good choice, and offers decent performance and features across the board. It’s notably far better than its predecessor, and with the RTX 3070 GPU, it offers a unique combination of power, ergonomics, and flexibility that are not easy to nail at this price point.

I’ll put it this way: this year’s ASUS TUF Dash F15 has a good starting point. The chassis is great, I/O is solid, thermals are manageable, touchpad and keyboard are both definitely serviceable. That said, this model comes with multiple configurations in different price ranges – I highly suggest you compare them all against each other to determine what are the things you’re fine to sacrifice or otherwise. For this very unit that’s sent to us though, “glass half-full” pretty much sums it up. At RM4,799 – while some things are good, I feel like it definitely is capable of doing better.

The Asus TUF Dash F15 2022 is a good gaming laptop for entry-level gamers who enjoy playing latest titles, not regularly but frequently after everyday work or weekends. If you're planning to use it for video editing, I'd suggest you look for notebooks with better displays. In terms of performance and thermals, it easily meets most requirements, though I wish the base variant supported up to 16GB of RAM. In terms of design, the TUF Dash F15 looks good, and it also meets military-grade MIL-STD standards, which is a great addition. The port selection is decent, and the keyboard gets the job done. In the end, it all comes down to the price, and for a laptop with the latest-gen Intel CPU, it's priced right. But do note, that AMD's latest-gen chips are yet to feature in some mainstream gaming laptops, which could be more affordable, and we are yet to see their potential.

The TUF Dash F15 carries forward the lineup’s legacy in delivering a quality gaming experience at an affordable price point. It also helps that the laptop features a lightweight and minimalistic design which blends well in an office setting too. At the same time, the TUF Dash F15 offers commendable specs that will easily satisfy a user’s gaming needs, provided they keep their expectations in check. The only points of contention for the device revolve around the rather underwhelming battery life, average speakers, and lack of any biometric authentication. Be that as it may, the TUF Dash F15 checks most of the right boxes and consequently, deserves a second look.
