Indeed the device look premium and beautiful, the screen is smooth and nice however the back is made up of average quality material. It’s a uni-body design and you need both the hands to use it. Battery life is decent and could last a day or more in average usage. However, in the same price range you can get a better choice from Lenovo, the Vibe K5 Plus or Redmi 3s from Mi.

Coolpad’s intentions are good to bring a phone with good build and design that doesn’t look cheap, doesn’t compromise on some basic sensors, and available at a very affordable price. And they’ve done it, but not without sacrificing the engines that power the phone. The poor choice of processor and hence its clock speeds cannot be overseen just by throwing in a 3GB of RAM. You’d notice the lack of good touch sensitivity the instant you pick the phone and start using. Gaming and camera too aren’t good in their overall performance though the UI has some good options up its sleeves.

Priced at Rs 6,999, the Coolpad Mega 2.5D offers quite good value for money with stylish design and looks and latest software. But the real problems for Coolpad Mega 2.5D is the average performance, camera, and not so great battery life. The Redmi 3S which is again priced Rs 6,999 definitely offers better value for money. But if you are looking for a large screen budget offering, Coolpad Mega 2.5D is definitely a good buy.

The Coolpad Mega 2.5D could have been a good handset for Rs. 6,999 had the Redmi 3S not been launched, unfortunately for the price the Redmi 3S is no doubt a much better option.

To sum up, we would suggest you to consider the Coolpad Mega if you are not looking for a small phone like Xiaomi Redmi 3S which we reviewed recently. The Coolpad Mega won't disappoint you at Rs 6,999.

Coolpad is also playing with feature sets to make them appealing to specific audiences, the selfie loving millennials being that in the case of the Mega 2.5D. Yes, performance does seem to have taken a back seat for the brand but not to a degree that would impede even casual use. At a price point of Rs. 6,999, the Coolpad Mega 2.5D is certainly worth taking a look at the next time you’re in the market for a new handset.

Coolpad Mega 2.5D will be available at a price of ₹6,999 on a first flash sale via Amazon India. What we’ll miss in this phone will be the amazing fingerprint scanner other Coolpad phones offer and a larger battery capacity. The good thing is it comes with a classy look and a newer CoolUI 8.0. Coolpad Mega 2.5D comes with an updated CoolUI 8.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow while other Coolpad phones remain behind in terms of the software.

Selfie obsession is fine, and Coolpad Mega 2.5 manages to have a slight edge on the front for this price point. But for an overall performance, my bet is still the Redmi 3s because of the battery, which I think is a feature you can’t overlook when choosing a smartphone.

The phone has a MediaTek MT6573P processor which is a 1 Ghz quad-core chip and it is coupled with 3GB of RAM. Now, you cannot expect some top level performance with this thing, but as a normal day to day phone, this is a great phone to use. It might not be the most powerful phone in the market but we didn’t face lag while navigating through the interface of while opening or closing the applications.

The Mega 3 comes with three SIM card holders, which work quite well and in sync with each other. However, I feel the company has traded off a couple of important features such as a good camera, and battery to put in the three SIM card functionality. Ask yourself if you really need three SIM cards in a phone? If yes, then this is your only solution.

The Coolpad Mega 3 will appeal to the niche audience who require more than two SIM card slots on their phone, but beyond that it is a pretty average phone.

When a low-cost phone claims to have one standout feature, it usually means that other aspects of it are going to be disappointing. With the Coolpad Mega 2.5D, looks were the top priority and performance suffered pretty much across the board. This time around, Coolpad has given the Mega 3 its own unique feature, but not at the cost of core functionality.

Coolpad has a number of phones in the Rs 5000-11,000 category and there are generally no good reasons why you should choose one over the other. But that is not the case with Coolpad Mega 3. It comes with its own flaws and does not improve on ones posed by its predecessors. But overall, it doesn't come close to the experience the Note 3 could offer in the same price.

The Coolpad Mega 3 will sure be winning hearts of those who want a budget smartphone below Rs 10,000. The handset has a decent camera, good battery life and an average display. The build is not really that appealing but not bad either. Add them all, and we think that the Coolpad Mega 3 is quite a value for money device at a price of Rs 6,999.

Now for the final statement, if you would ask us, we would not recommend the Mega 3 even for the price of Rs 6,999. The smartphone though comes with decent battery life, but it lacks in terms of UI, Camera and the built quality. The only advantage one can be sure of is the Triple SIM functionality. The display is fine as well but when it comes to day-to-day usage, we have better alternatives. If you want to stick to the company, the Mega 2.5D is a decent performer or one can any day pick up the famous Xiaomi Redmi 3S. You can also wait for our review for the recently launched Xolo Era 2X which claims to be the cheapest smartphone sporting a fingerprint sensor.

The Coolpad Mega 3 is a very peculiar device. Really, there’s not much of a competition for the phone given that hardly anyone makes triple SIM devices. If that is not something that you are looking for then Coolpad’s other devices or Xiaomi’s Redmi series might prove to be a better bet due to the larger batteries and generally higher degree of refinement.

Design is okay, screen more than okay and camera performance of the Mega 5A is something I can forgive and forget. The software too is good, as it is based on Android 8 and battery life is decent. But the performance issues mean the Mega 5A is not a phone that can be recommended.

The Coolpad Mega 5A has metal in its construction which is uncommon at this price point. While it has a good feel in the hand, it fails to deliver a good usable experience. The processor is slow, and that coupled with only 2GB of RAM results in longer load times and slower multitasking. We also found its battery life to be slightly on the lower side, and you’ll need to plug it in by the end of the day. If you are on a strict budget, the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 6A seems to have better hardware on paper, and we will be able to confirm that once we finish reviewing it. If you can extend your budget a little, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 (Review) offers better value for your money.
