P10 Plus has many similarities with the classic P10, while their most significant difference lies in the dimensions. The display is now 5.5″ which will appeal to the users looking for bigger working space. What’s more, the resolution is also increased, so if you insist on the really high image detail, P10 Plus will provide it.

The Huawei P10 Plus is definitely a worthy upgrade over the old P9 Plus, it’s upgraded Leica dual camera system is the only reason that you will want to invest on if you are serious about smartphone photography, it also outperforms certain flagship smartphone cameras with great dynamic range and detail. Otherwise, smartphone performance is similar to the Honor 8 Pro, which costs RM1,000 less than the P10 Plus, or you could also consider the Mate 9 if you are particular about battery life.

While it’s a great device with a clean look, comfortable handling, and practical features, it’s not leading in benchmarks performance and it’s further hampered with middling battery life. The Kirin 960 processor is just a hair below the Snapdragon 820’s results. The Snapdragon 820 itself is already superseded by the better Snapdragon 821 and the current-generation Snapdragon 835. Fortunately for Huawei, the average phone buyer isn’t typically concerned with processor differences.

If you're a budget-minded Android user looking for a premium phone with a great camera, this handset is for you. If battery and a powerhouse chipset are your main concern, I’d look elsewhere.

The Huawei P10 Plus is a totally decent phone: it's got brisk performance, a camera that's more flexible than most, and a big, high-res screen. But at the same time, it's also a phone that's really difficult to feel very passionately for.

The Huawei software is much improved, so much so that I am very tempted to make the P10 Plus my daily driver and may just do so if I can get root access (stay tuned for my how to root your P10 and P10 Plus piece coming soon). You can change the theme to whatever you want or you can make your own fairly easily using the plethora of EMUI theme factory apps on the Play Store. Huawei have ruined parts of the stock Nougat (the sharing and open with intents for starters) but most of their enhancements really are enhancements.

The Huawei P9 was a huge success for the Chinese manufacturer, being the first smartphone from the company to reach over 10 million sales worldwide. The partnership with famed glass maker Leica proved to be a worthwhile investment, even if those sample images generated a bit of controversy. Creating a successor was always going to be a difficult move for Huawei, as the handset needs to excel in some very crucial areas. Will it be able to take the camera even further and continue to impress, or is this just an incremental upgrade? Let’s find out…

Getting your hands on a P10 Plus will cost you roughly R13 999 if you opt for the 6 GB RAM, 128 GB onboard storage model. While crossing the R10k threshold is always going to be a tough ask for consumers, if the camera performance of a flagship device is important to you, then the option on the P10 Plus is certainly worth it.

Huawei's phones have arguably been the most innovative in recent years. The P10 Plus is an impressive flagship with an outstanding camera and no real weak point (except for annoying low-light camera performance).

The recent Huawei P-type smartphones place huge emphasis on their photography features, thanks to their collaboration with Leica. Ever since the Huawei P9, Leica and Huawei have begun working even more closely for better mobile photography. More work has gone behind the P10 Plus's cameras, such as implementing new lenses, and an overhaul to its algorithms.

The P10 and P10 Plus are fast. At least they are when using LPDDR4 RAM and UFS 2.0 NAND like both of our review units. It would have been nice to receive a unit with a different memory type (assuming Huawei is actually shipping units with slower hardware) to explore the performance impact, but that’s outside our control.

In the brief time we spent with the P10 and P10 Plus, we didn't really find that much which completely blew us away, but on the other hand we didn't find much to dislike either. It's exactly what you'd expect from a flagship Android phone in 2017 – nothing more, and nothing less – which means the answer to the question of "should you buy this?" largely comes down to whether you've used Huawei phones before and liked them. If you have, then you're going to like the P10.

But of course, they aren’t really cameras with phone functionality. They are really Android phones with excellent cameras. They are powered by octacore Kirin 960 processors (up to 4 by 2.4GHz and 4 by 1.8GHz), run Android 7.0 Nougat with Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 skin and have 8 megapixel f/1.9 selfie cameras. And they have a fast charge capability.

The P10 Plus is a top-specced contender with a top-specced price. The main rivals in the Android world are all more expensive, and in their own way, flawed too. Samsung's S8 is a strong phone, and boasts the waterproofing and wireless charging missing here, but the placement of its fingerprint sensor right next to the main camera - apparently a last minute design decision because the under-glass fingerprint sensor wasn't sufficiently reliable - is already causing much annoyance. Google's ludicrously priced Google Pixel has a fine camera but a much inferior display and bafflingly, no expandable storage. By comparison the Huawei is a solid design, a Volvo maybe, but at an Audi price.

Huawei P10 Plus is by far the best device by Huawei but it is little bit expensive. The device has some massive features like 128GB ROM, 6GB RAM, dual back camera lens and many others. Design section has resemblance with IPhone 7 Plus and it can compete with its other competitors such as IPhone 7 Plus, Samsung C9 Pro and many others. We have tested the device and it has given us brilliant results.

Huawei has priced the P10 at AED 1899 for a 64GB version while the P10 Plus comes at AED 2599 for a 128GB version with 6GB RAM. With the P10 Plus you're also getting an iR sensor and a bit of water resistance. Deciding between them purely comes down to a personal preference.

Having used the P10 Plus for a week, we know for sure that we won't be stepping back into the smaller P10 (despite having the more exciting looking blue colour in that device). Why? Because the Plus is the better device. And while it's not quite as budget as was suggested at Huawei's unveiling press conference, it's still worth its asking price considering everything that's on board.

The high price of the Huawei P10 Plus means that it should have had the book thrown at it in terms of specifications and features. With that in mind, there are some issues that are difficult to forgive: the screen is a fingerprint magnet; the single speaker could deliver better-quality audio and more volume; and arguably it should be water resistant and support wireless charging. I would have preferred the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, although its positioning on the front does allow for gesture controls.

There's no right or wrong way to end a story, but it would be unfair to the P10 and the P10 Plus to not give them what they well deserve. Huawei simply did a good job. The P-series has come a long way, thanks in no small part to strategic partnerships in design and imaging. Huawei's own Kirin 960 chipset (HiSilicon's a Huawei subsidiary) is another major part of the equation.

The P10 Plus is another solid smartphone from Huawei offering attractive design, high-end hardware and much improved software. However, it's missing a few features compared to rivals such as waterproofing and wireless charging. The phone is also pretty expensive so you're probably better-off getting the regular P10 or even cheaper options like the OnePlus 3T or Honor 8 Pro.

The P10 Plus is Huawei’s best phone to date. It isn't perfect, but it ticks most of the boxes for an impressive 2017 flagship. It’s fast, looks attractive and has an excellent-sized display. The Leica-engineered camera is ace too, and the wider aperture makes a huge difference when comparing it to the regular Huawei P10.

The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus are not perfect, but they are about as close as it is possible to get right now. They offer almost all the benefits of the larger Mate 9 flagship but in smaller, more manageable form factors. To put this is in perspective, most smartphones in the 5.1-inch range don’t have half the features of the regular P10, and the P10 Plus can comfortably hold its own against any of the 5.5-inch flagships around right now, even if some might argue it’s a little overpriced.

Personally, the whole oleophobic kerfuffle with the Huawei P10 has considerably dampened my enthusiasm for these phones. This is a core hardware feature which has been the norm in just about every flagship smartphone for the past decade. The P10 forces me to choose between two bad options: leave the screen protector on and deal with a display that feels like crappy plastic, or take it off and live in a frustrating hellscape of screen smudges.

Considering the P10 Plus is slated to cost only €50 more than the regular P10 – €649 vs €699 – it seems the larger handset is the one to go for. Benefits include a wider aperture camera, higher-resolution screen, decent 3,750mAh battery, all the while maintaining a thin and sleek design. What's not to like?
