The Legion 7i offers mixed performance. The Lenovo gaming rig towers above its rivals when it comes to file-transfer speed, virtual reality and screen brightness, but the Legion 7i fails to stand out on overall performance, video transcoding and battery life. If you’re seeking a longer-lasting gaming rig, you should consider the MSI GS66 Stealth, which lasts two hours longer on a charge.

Aside from the performance and the SSD, one thing I really appreciated was Thunderbolt 3. Since I use so many laptops, I'm almost always working with a Thunderbolt 3 dock, so I can just connect my two 4K monitors and work from the laptop that I'm reviewing. Usually with a gaming laptop, I have to make some compromises because gaming laptops don't have Thunderbolt 3, or multiple USB Type-C ports.

So, everybody, we just reviewed a great all-rounder, when it comes to productivity. It can be configured with some of the most powerful mobile processors and graphics cards out there. What’s so special about it? Well, it weighs 2.25 kg and has a profile of 19.9 mm. This is in the MSI GS65 Stealth range. However, unlike the GS65, the Legion 7 (15) makes less noise than the Saturn V rocket, powering the Apollo missions, and manages to provide very respectable frequencies and temperatures.

The Legion 7i with the Nvidia RTX 2080 Super is a top-tier gaming laptop from Lenovo. It has a very strong and premium build which makes it a heavy machine too. The laptop manages to run the gaming titles quite smoothly for the most part. The overall sound output is clear and distortion-free. The laptop chassis does heat up a bit during long gaming sessions. With all that being said, Lenovo is asking for a lot of trust from PC gamers at a starting price of close to Rs 2 lakh.

The Lenovo Legion 7 is a great gaming laptop that excels at the basics, with a top-notch performance and gorgeous Full HD display with Dolby Vision support. But it arguably lacks a killer feature to justify the comparatively expensive price point, with better value offered by Asus and HP machines.

I have given you ample reasons that, kind of, justify the Rs 2 lakh pricing on the Lenovo Legion 7i laptop. You are getting the top-class hardware, a nerdy design, and salient features that will elevate your gaming experience on the Legion 7i. And beyond gamers, the laptop is suited for creators who want help professionally. But Rs 1,99,990 is a hefty price tag.

Priced at £2,200 when outfitted with a Core i7-10875H and GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q, the laptop undercuts most 15.6in competitors while remaining a cut above in terms of presentation and build quality.

The Lenovo Legion 7i ticks all the boxes on our list. It has a premium build, a portable and professional-looking design that won’t look out of place in an office environment, a fantastic 240Hz display, a privacy shutter on the webcam, an attractive RGB setup, good battery life, cool software features, and great performance and thermals. We didn’t like the power button though and the small trackpad, but we’re nitpicking as these are things we can sweep under the rug given its pros. At PHP 134,995, it’s pricey, but a competitive price considering what it has to offer. So, if you’re a gamer or a creator, and on a hunt for a laptop that packs the power mentioned above, then the Legion 7i should be at the top of your list.

With a GeForce RTX 2080 Super, an Intel Core i9-10980HK, and a 240-Hz display, the Legion 7 is clearly targeted toward gamers that don't want to make any compromises in terms of performance even on the road. We find out in our test, whether the compact 15-inch laptop is able to control the heat development.

In pure gaming performance, the Legion 7i claims the advantage—and since it's the second cheapest among the premium 15-inch gaming rigs, it scores high for value despite boasting double the SSD storage of its rivals. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 reigns supreme in the midrange price tier, and the Alienware m15 R3 clings to its Editors' Choice for its slicker design and slightly lower price tag, but the Legion 7i is well worth a look from hardcore gamers everywhere.
