The ThinkBook 14s Yoga doesn't attract attention by setting performance records but rather with its good ergonomics. The Lenovo engineers have focused on low emissions, good stamina and a decent keyboard. The touchscreen display can be used both with your fingers and with the included Smart Pen.

Lisa Gade reviews the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga, their more affordable alternative to the ThinkPad X1 Yoga convertible Ultrabook. The 14” ThinkBook has an aluminum casing with a 14” display supporting pen and touch, and it has 360 degree hinges. Street pricing typically starts at $949, and the laptop runs Windows 10 Pro on Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake Core i5 and i7 processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics. It has expandable RAM and 2 M.2 SSD slots. The ThinkPad Pro pen is included and lives in a silo in the laptop.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga is a versatile and stylish 2-in-1 that delivers build quality and performance on a par with pricier 2-in-1 convertibles. As with any budget or midrange machine, sacrifices were made to hit a more approachable price. In the case of the ThinkBook 14s Yoga, you lose in two big areas: display and battery. We have no other complaints about its performance, and we like the look and feel of its compact, all-metal chassis. Given its shortcomings, however, we can recommend the ThinkBook 14s Yoga only to workers on a tight budget who spend the majority of the time inside, under artificial light, and near a power outlet.

The ThinkBook 14s Yoga is not as much a consumer play as it is a modernization of the company's workstation profile. As some people continue to or push for more work-from-home dynamics, the 14s satisfies an itch of basic convenience. It's light enough to port around in most circumstances and its 2-in-1 nature and included pen offer greater flexibility for document signing (for those of us who ran out of ink early in the pandemic) as well as note taking or finer tuned graphics editing.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga 2-in-1 is a solid and affordable convertible laptop with some great features and excellent performance, but its battery life holds it back from wiping the floor with the competition.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga offers a wide variety of ports, ease of use with the stylus pen, and little to no bloatware to hog up your screen. The fast SSD allows for a quicker load up times, and overall makes your programs a bit more speedy. You can’t forget about the vibrant display that allows for the best experience when enjoying your favorite shows on any streaming service. Even then, I do wish the performance and speakers were a bit better than it is, and it would’ve been nice if the battery life kept up to the competitors.

When it comes to paper goods, a "pad" usually costs less than a "book," but that's not true of Lenovo laptops. While ThinkPads are elite systems for enterprise execs, ThinkBooks are more affordable machines intended for small business. In other words, if you want a 14-inch convertible and can't swing a ThinkPad X1 Yoga, you'll find the ThinkBook 14s Yoga (starts at $968; $1,079.99 as tested) a fine alternative. It offers handsome design, perky performance, plenty of ports, and an onboard stylus, all in an excellent-value package. It's impressive enough to claim an Editors' Choice award as our new favorite midrange 2-in-1.

The ThinkBook 14s Yoga is a 2-in-1 that’s ideal for business users who hate scrambling for pens that never seem to be within reach. They can simply whip out the included Smart Pen and jot down notes without missing a beat.

Lenovo's ThinkBook 14s Yoga is an attractive all metal two-in-one that needs to be configured with dual channel memory to get the most out of it.

It's not perfect though, nor would you expect it to be at just over a thousand dollars, an awesome price point for something this good. But the screen could definitely be brighter, and I'd really have liked to see a port upgrade on this thing, with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and HDMI 2.0. Also, a 1080p webcam would be nice.

Unboxing Lenovo's first convertible ThinkBook, the 14s Yoga. It has an Intel Core i7-1165G7, 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD, a FHD display, and comes in a stunning two-tone Abyss Blue color.

Before we start with the good stuff, we would like to address what we didn’t like about this notebook. Our first, and main concern is weight. While 1.50 kilos is not that bad for a 14-inch laptop, you have to keep in mind that this is a convertible. And as such, you might use it as a tablet, more often, than as a traditional laptop. This will definitely put a strain on your hands after a slightly longer handheld session.

We see so many sleeker convertibles with brighter, more colorful displays that we're not particularly excited by the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2, but we can't deny it's a solid value. A sunnier screen and a better keyboard would be nice, to be sure, and those things are available in other laptops, both business models like the ThinkPad and Dell Latitude series and consumer entries like Lenovo's Yoga 9i Gen 7 and HP's Spectre line. But most of them cost considerably more. The ThinkBook is a well-built, low-priced small-business solution that you shouldn't overlook if it's in your price zone.

Despite the ever so slightly suboptimal performance, the ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 2 is one of the best business convertibles for the money. It will last you for an entire workday worth of use, and it will remain cool and quiet under any circumstance. In addition, you can upgrade its memory via the single SODIMM slot, and the storage, thanks to the two M.2 PCIe x4 Gen 4 slots. The port selection on the outside is even more impressive.

Are you in search of a convertible business notebook that offers versatility, enhanced security features, and decent performance? Well, since you are already here, the chances are high that this is exactly what you are looking for. The Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 3 is a device that marries the compact use of the Yoga series, with the reliability of the ThinkBook and ThinkPad series. Ultimately, the former is a more stylish version of the good ol’ ThinkPad machines, which albeit full of modern features, still look like they come from the 1990s. Not only does the device look quite good, but it also features Intel’s 13th Gen U-series processors. As you can imagine, they should be pretty powerful, and efficient, thanks to the architecture Intel introduced last year. In addition to that, there is only one display option. It comprises a 1080p IPS panel with an alleged full sRGB coverage and stylus support.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 3 is a fine small-office convertible; indeed, we called last year's model the best small/medium business laptop in our business notebook roundup. However, our test unit isn't Lenovo's most compelling buy at $1,700, when you can get a more modern 16:10 display and the advantages of the ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 8 (now in our review pipeline) for roughly $100 more, or a sharper screen and faster CPU in the company's Yoga 7i 14 consumer model for $500 less. The ThinkBook will serve you well, but it falls short of Editors' Choice honors.
