Motorola has equipped the 10th generation of its affordable mid-range phone with even more cameras and a fresh look. However, if you take a closer look, the differences to the previous generation are not that big. In our review, we'll evaluate whether the update is worth it.

If you're on a tight budget, the Motorola Moto G10 is very cheap. It's a basic option but considering just how inexpensive it is, you wouldn't expect it to be a super sophisticated phone. Despite being clunky and a bit slow, it has a big screen, a long-lasting battery and a capable camera.

The Moto G10 would have been a great all-rounder some time ago. But even the low-end smartphone market has evolved, and now the hardware at hand doesn't impress. In fact, it seems to be lacking against some of the competition. And we are not talking about the pressure from the Chinese brands only. Sure, the Redmi 9T and the OnePlus Nord N100 are viable options to pursue, but we are mostly puzzled by the decision to space the Moto G30 and the G10 pricing by just €30.

The Moto G10 is a decent buy for those who want a cheap phone that lasts a long time between charges. Others might be better off spending a little more on alternatives from Realme or Xiaomi. This phone feels a little slow and its main camera often produces drab, oversharpened images.

The G10 is basically a slower, cheaper G9 Play with a slightly better camera. Consider what's most important before laying cash down on this, similarly-specced rivals like the Redmi 9, or pricier alternatives that afford a few extra luxuries, like the Realme 7.

Motorola’s Moto G series have always been about giving the users bang for the buck. Yes, they have midrange specs, but software optimizations and the right features in the right places make them great bargain phones.

This might be the first entry-level Moto G we don't unequivocally recommend as the default purchase. There's nothing especially wrong with it - indeed the battery life, software and practical design make it more than good enough for most people - but there's also the Moto G30 to consider. So if you can, we'd recommend stumping up the little extra money and going with that model instead.

The Moto G10 certainly has a lot going for it. It looks good, packs a decent screen and camera for its low cost of entry, and has a formidable battery life. At £130, it’s well-priced, but it feels sluggish out of the box and that problem is only going to get worse over time. If you can afford the extra £30 SIM-free – an increase that will be barely noticeable if you take it out on contract – then the Moto G30 certainly justifies the extra cost. But at the same time, that’s a 23% increase over the SIM-free RRP, and if you’re on a tight budget then that might not be doable.

The Moto G10 Power is one of very few budget phones to offer a clean interface without any bloatware. The phone also has a 6000mAh battery that outlasts every other device in this category, and you get IP52 water resistance. However, the sub-par display and underwhelming hardware make it a tough recommendation.

If you look at the Moto G10 Power as a standalone phone, which isn't a successor to the G8 Power and G9 Power, it's seems like a well-priced endurance champion. At INR 9,500 starting price, the device wants to beat all of its low-end competitors with a killer battery life, and it has every bit of chance to do so. Even Xiaomi's Redmi 9 Power asks INR 1,000 more but with a more sensible Snapdragon 662 on board and a higher-res panel.

I think the Moto G10 Power is a decent attempt at a budget phone and Motorola has focused on some key aspects that users would want in their phones. This includes a long-lasting battery backup that can deliver a substantial period of usage off a single charge, alongside a satisfactory display and decent camera results in daylight. The phone however, can’t really match up in terms of performance, and to be quite honest the design does not leave a lasting impression. The POCO M3 (review) and even the Moto G30 (review) look like better and worthwhile options while costing just Rs 1,000 more.

Moto G10 Power is the go-to phone if your needs are basic. You want a phone with a decent battery and feels sturdy enough to last you years, the Moto G10 Power is the right fit for you. The camera performs exceptionally during the day, but the same cannot be said about its low-light performance. The smartphone gets the basic chores done seamlessly and even handles heavier games in low graphic settings. Its near-stock Android is the icing on the cake, and hence it does seem like a great deal in under Rs 10,000. There are minor hiccups, which, if you can ignore, would not be much of a problem.

The biggest strengths of the Moto G10 are Android 11, which is near Stock Android, the 48MP rear quad camera setup and the four-layer-ThinkShield design philosophy that is a first in data privacy, as claimed by Motorola. The rear camera performs quite well during day and night. The weak points are the SD 460 processor and the selfie camera performance in low-light conditions.

The Moto G10 Power has a lot to offer at Rs. 9,999. It looks good, and has excellent battery life, fast charging, and stock Android. The main camera is quite competent during the day, but photo and video capabilities are quite basic. Some aspects of this phone that could have been better are the display and low-light camera performance.

Motorola's Moto G10 Power seems like a very interesting option at around the Rs. 10,000 price point, for those looking for a large battery and an ad-free version of Android 11. However, spending a bit more money also opens up the floodgates to much more powerful and feature-rich offerings such as the Poco M3 (Review) and Xiaomi Redmi Note 10.

If you’re on a strict budget of around £150/$180, the Moto G13 is a solid buy. You get excellent battery life and decent performance, plus expandable storage that means you can keep loads of movies and music on the device. However, there is a bit of lag in the day-to-day performance, while the cameras are not that great. But for the price, it’s still a phone that can let you do most of the things you’d want from a smartphone without breaking the bank. There are no shortage of other options though, including some significant upgrades if you’re willing to pay a little more.

It’s hard to get excited about the Moto G13, but that’s not to say it isn’t well worth a look for younger, older, or enterprise users. It’s got just enough grunt to beat similarly priced phones from Nokia and TCL with enough power to get what you need done and still have enough juice left for a bit of YouTube in the evenings – and it’ll look good doing it.

The Moto G13 may not be perfect, but for $135, it’s a very good choice. The main advantages are mega-high battery life, good cameras (main and front), a 90Hz display, well-optimised software for smooth operation, and a good modern design. It should be emphasised that this is a model for undemanding users. It is far from a flagship or even a flagship killer. But this budget phone is certainly capable of performing most basic tasks. Who is it suitable for? Of course, for children and the elderly who do not have special requirements for a phone, as it performs basic functions – no more. It’s also a good option for those who want to save money without overpaying for a smartphone, for those looking for an additional phone, or for primary school students.

Without wanting to sound like a stuck record, all of these drawbacks are forgivable, and indeed expected, in a handset that retails for £140. And even with these mild criticisms, it still represents excellent value for money. It looks the part, performs well enough in day-to-day use and packs nice extras like expandable storage, dual-SIM support and a 3.5mm headphone jack. If you need 5G connectivity, you’ll gain a decent amount by spending £50 more on the Moto G53. But if £140 is your absolute limit, it’s impossible to argue that the Moto G13 works extremely hard for the cash.

Barring the bloatware in the operating system, the Moto G13 is one of the best smartphones under Rs 10,000 to consider in 2023. While most phones offer just a mono speaker, the Moto G13 has a stereo speaker setup, that too with Dolby Atmos. If you are looking for a smartphone under Rs 10,000 that has all the basic features with a few extra tricks up its sleeve, the Moto G13 is an excellent pick. The Moto G13 is a good buy. Yes, this is a 4G smartphone, but we haven’t yet started seeing 5G units in under Rs 10,000 segment because the 5G chips would cost more to the company and increase the price of the phone. As for the value, the Moto G13 is priced at Rs 9,499 and it is worth your money if you are on the lookout for a phone that can perform basic tasks well. The camera is also pretty capable and can take attractive shots without losing much on details, which is pretty impressive for the price. People who want their phone to last at least for day and need a clean UI with smooth performance on budget for basics should consider buying this Motorola phone.

Motorola's Moto G23 and G13 are two budget smartphones costing under £200 in the UK, with very similar specs including the same 50MP camera sensor and Helio G85 chipset. This unboxing and hands-on review compares the Motorola G23 vs G13 to see which is the best value phone for you in 2023. Photo quality, gaming performance, battery life and more is covered off. Of course, you have other options for under £200 like the Moto G53 if you want 5G support, or G32 if the screen is more important. You've got a lot of choice here, because Motorola launches so many bloody mobiles! Still, the Moto G13 is a decent choice if you only have £150 to spend. For that budget, you get the same decent everyday performance as the Moto G23, despite having half the memory. You can even get gaming on Call of Duty and other less demanding titles, albeit on lower graphics settings. The Motorola Moto G23 and G13 offer the same 50 meg camera, while the G23 also serves up a basic ultra-wide shooter. Photo and video quality is fine as long as your subject is perfectly still. Battery life is excellent on both, you get the same slick stock Android 13 experience (although no Moto app!) and the design is near identical. So which are you more tempted by? Stay tuned for my review round-up of the best budget phones of 2023!

Overall, the G13 is a mixed bag, until you realize that we’re talking about a phone that's under $200. The plus point of purchasing the Motorola Moto G13 would be long lasting battery, a decent display, the latest Android update, and above-average sound output. Apart from those factors, the majority of specs and features of this phone are either average or below average. But there’s no denying that the phone could be considered the best option in the 4G smartphone segment. But on the other hand, 5G phones are the future, and Motorola has always been known for delaying the Android update. Plus, there are only a handful of phones that will get a future update. In that case, you need to consider alternative options if those above factors matter to you. Check out the Vivo S16 for an overall good performance and user experience.
