It may look like one of the best cheap phones on the market but the Nokia 3 is style over substance, struggling with long load times and poor battery life.

We had high hopes for the Nokia 3, but the final phone is a bit of a disappointment. We can't deny that it looks absolutely fantastic for the price, and we're fans of Nokia's decision to stick to stock Android, but it's just cut too many corners on the internal specs to make the 3 stand out amid a fiercely competitive budget smartphone market.

At £130, there isn't much direct competition, aside from the 2016 Motorola Moto G4, which you can still buy for £140. But, as long as you don't mind buying a generation-old phone, the Moto is the better choice. It has a bigger, higher-resolution screen, faster performance, a better camera and superior battery life.

It’s perfectly functional as a backup phone – decent battery life means it can happily be thrown into a bag and forgotten about during a festival or camping holiday – but there are better choices out there for anything more. The Moto G5 isn’t much more expensive and offers a 1080p screen, much snappier Snapdragon CPU, a camera that’s surprisingly good and a fingerprint scanner. There’s also the Wileyfox Swift 2 and a good selection of carrier-locked options from Vodafone.

The Nokia 3 is now available in India priced at Rs. 9,499. It is a good-looking smartphone, and also supports 4G with VoLTE. One big positive point is that the company has promised future Android updates. Overall performance and camera results aren't its biggest highlights. We also missed a fingerprint scanner, which really should be a standard feature now.

The Nokia 3 feels like the wrong first step for a new Nokia. We accept that there's a great demand for phones that are affordable, but with the likes of Motorola offering some great devices around this price or a fraction higher, it's hard to see how the Nokia 3 competitively fits into the equation.

At the end of the day, the Nokia 3 is a well-designed phone that catches the eye, but this impression turns out to be only superficial. Using the phone reveals many shortcomings: the stuttery, underpowered performance, the camera that is completely inept in video and one terribly imbalanced display. If you are on the hunt for that perfect cheap phone… well, who knows if it even exists, but we know that it most likely is not the Nokia 3.

If your budget will stretch further, there are superior handsets such as the Motorola Moto G5 and Lenovo P2. If it won’t? Vodafone’s Smart N8 only costs £85, and that manages to pack in a fingerprint sensor.

Buying on a budget is always a compromise, but there's a lot to like about the Nokia 3. It punches above its weight in the looks department and the inclusion of NFC is a plus. Unskinned Android with the promise of regular updates will also go down well with many potential buyers, but the screen resolution is disappointing.

We’re strangely excited about the Nokia 3 considering the fact that it’s budget and there’s nothing particularly innovative about it. It’s just a really good all-rounder with such a great price tag that it’s hard not to recommend to anyone not wanting to spend loads to get the best smartphone tech available. We think this is going to a hugely popular new handset and we wouldn’t be surprised if it knocks the Moto G out of the top spot in our budget smartphone chart.

On the whole, Nokia 3 seems to be a decent start for the company’s Android smartphone journey. This budget Nokia phone from HMD ticks most of the factors in good terms, except for a few shortcomings. Having said that, at this price point, you can get other smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets. If you spend more and wait for some time, you can get the Nokia 6 that will be available soon from Amazon India with much better specifications.

The Nokia 3 has every prospect to sell equally well. But even if it flops, the little budget Nokia shouldn't really be more than a tiny snag on the tracks of the massive hype train HMD is currently piloting. All eyes are now fixed on the company's eagerly-anticipated flagship offer. It could really make or break the reinvented Nokia brand, so be sure to keep close taps on those developments.

Nokia 3 is one of the most awaited device of 2017 but unfortunately Nokia 3 has not surprised me with it’s any feature. We have explained its every feature in Nokia 3 Review – 2017. The price is very affordable by which it can hit the users otherwise it has very normal specifications. I have found its camera results are very weak and the battery should be bigger. We were expecting a lot more from Nokia because it is Nokia not any other company. Body and shape wise, Nokia 3 is very solid and strong furthermore it has very light weight.

Round two for the Nokia 3, which has been revised in terms of both looks and internal hardware. For less than $160 you get a decently equipped Android One smartphone made by HMD Global. Find out what we think in our extensive review.

Nostalgia for the brand aside, it is hard to recommend the Nokia 3.1 given its Php 9,990 price tag. Save for the Android One branding, there are other phones that offer a better spec sheet at roughly the same price. Speaking of Android One, Xiaomi’s Mi A2 Lite offers vastly superior specs compared to the Nokia 3.1 while having the same price.

The Nokia 3.1 is not a bad device, on the contrary - it's a well-designed and balanced smartphone. It's just that the competition has more attractive offers to earn your cash. But if HMD considers a minor price drop and thus moves the Nokia 3.1 to a lower price tier, then it would be a nice beginner's device.

For an affordable price, you can get a phone that gets all of the basics done pretty well. It has a good quality screen and nice hardware, and is a compact option among lots of big budget phones. Its slow performance and lack of a fingerprint sensor are disappointing, but you get good Android One software in return.

They absolutely did. While it took them several months (the Nokia 3.1 launched last February 2018, while the Nokia 3.1 Plus launched in October 2018), HMD Global was able to get the right balance of what a budget Android One phone should be: a phone with decent internals, essential features and speedy Android updates.

Nokia 3.1 Plus stands out for its build quality and design. However, the competition is ahead when it comes to overall performance. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has a Snapdragon 636 processor and a 20MP front camera with flash. The battery is a much bigger 4,000mAh. Realme U1 is another stylish option in the budget segment. It gives Nokia 3.1 Plus a tough competition with Helio P70 processor, 25MP selfie camera, face unlock, and more features. Nokia 3.1 Plus might appeal to loyal Nokia users. The Nokia 3.1 Plus is not the most competitive phone at its price level; not by a long shot. No matter how good it looks on the outside, it's hard to ignore just how much smoother the usage experience is with other models. If you're spending this much money, you should expect nothing less, and physical durability isn't worth much if your needs are going to outgrow its capabilities within a year or two.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus is a budget phone with a not so budget pricing, which is perhaps what most people are going to be talking about the most. At Rs 11,499, the phone is pricier than the Nokia 5.1 Plus, which comes with a better chipset. But with that being said, the Nokia 3.1 Plus is also a classy phone. It may not get a glass back, but the design still manages to feel premium. It also gets a bigger display for those who find the Nokia 5.1 Plus a little too compact. While a Helio P22 chipset does leave you wanting more, the battery life will surely not. It is a pretty good Nokia 5.1 Plus alternative, but in the larger scheme of things, the phone falls a little flat among competitors in this price segment. I reckon HMD will have a good chance selling the phone through offline channels rather than online, but we will have to wait and see on that.

While the Nokia 3.2 debuted earlier this year at MWC 2019, it has a disappointing price-to-specs ratio. With its Php 6,990 price tag, it is expensive for a quad-core smartphone. You can opt instead for the Nokia 6.1, which has a massive price cut and the same price.

Like all smartphones, the Nokia 3.2 has its pros and cons. It has Android One as its operating system, possesses a dedicated micro SD slot, has a dedicated Google Assistant button, and pretty modest battery life. Its cons outweigh the pros though, such as its disappointing performance, washed-out front, and rear camera photo quality, lack of portrait mode, poor audio quality, and honestly, its asking price of PHP 7,990 is just too steep for its league. We think there are other smartphones out there that are more worth your PHP 8,000 and can turn those 3.2 cons into pros.

Nokia 3.2 comes with plus points like a large display, big battery and stock Android experience. But the phone lags in performance with underpowered processor and camera. At the price range of around Rs 9,500 which will get you the 3GB variant of the Nokia 3.2, there are other better options available in the market like the Redmi Note 7 or the Realme 3 Pro which offer much better performance, cameras. One can only consider this phone for its stock Android experience, solid build, and a decent battery backup.

The Nokia 3.2 is targeted at folks looking for a phone with a large display suitable for multimedia consumption, and also one that packs a large battery that easily lasts over a day. And even though the display quality could have been better, the Nokia 3.2 delivers on those two counts. The bloatware-free Android experience and timely updates are also bonuses, but that is just about all there is on the positive side.

Priced at Rs 10,790 (3GB/32GB), the Nokia 3.2 might not be the best phone in terms of performance and camera. Consider this phone for its pure and optimised stock Android experience, solid build and a decent battery with good on-battery time.

The Nokia 3.2 variant line-up ends where the Nokia 4.2 begins. According to Nokia’s website, the 3GB RAM variant of the Nokia 3.2 costs Rs 10,790. The 3GB RAM variant of the Nokia 4.2 costs Rs 10,990. This slim difference in price gives a buyer very little reason to consider the Nokia 3.2 over the Nokia 4.2. In almost every way except the screen size, the Nokia 4.2 is better and offers more bang for the buck. Unless you desperately crave the larger 6.26-inch screen, go with the Nokia 4.2 if a classy budget Nokia smartphone is what you want to buy. If you're open to other brands, consider the Redmi 7 too. In summary, the Nokia 3.2 offers mediocre performance on almost all fronts, making a very weak case for itself in front of its slightly costlier sibling.

Nokia 3.2 is a big screen phone with optimal battery life. However, the slow-performance and not-so-good camera quality holds the device back against its competitors. The Nokia 3.2 comes with a similar waterdrop display, a dedicated Google Assistant button, a notification light power button and a stock Android Pie experience. But the Nokia 3.2 is a big phone with a tall display and a large battery life, which are some of its best features. The Nokia 3.2 looks are quite decent in nature and the display is large, which some might find useful. Nokia's 3.4 wants to stir up the lower mid-range with a brand-new interior and triple camera. Strong competitors face the Chinese-Finnish phone, but the smartphone can actually convince in some points.

Unfortunately, I don’t recommend the Nokia 3.4 – for one reason. Its day-to-day performance is poor, and this rapidly becomes a headache, one that will likely make you wish you’d spent slightly more.

The Nokia 3.4 is a good phone for productivity thanks to its clean and straightforward UI (it runs pure Android 10 and is Android 11-ready), decent processor, and impressive battery life. However, if mobile photography is important to you, you might want to look elsewhere. When it was launched, it was priced at P7,990. In February however, it got a price cut and now retails for P6,990, which is a better price point for the features the phone offers.

But, at the price of RM599 – the Nokia 3.4 is not a bad phone, honestly. But only if you can buy it, honestly. Currently, the phone is not available for sale on Lazada or Shopee but it’s only available on RedOne via a contract.

Overall, the handset finds its strength in its build quality and software. If you are looking to buy a low-cost smartphone that comes with a promise of regular software updates, then the Nokia 3.4 may appear to be a perfectly good option to consider.

The Nokia 3.4 is a well-built smartphone that promises guaranteed Android updates. This will appeal to an Android purist who looks forward to running the latest software without spending significantly on a new smartphone. However, there is nothing about the Nokia 3.4 that stands out other than this promise. The competition offers bigger batteries, faster charging, better displays, and better camera quality.

The Nokia 3.4 offers a premium feel and decent specs for its asking price, and I am curious to see how it will fare in our benchmark and camera tests. If you want to know whether this phone is worth buying, stay tuned to Gadgets 360.

Now let’s talk about the price. The Nokia 3.4 is priced at PHP 7,990, and honestly, we think it’s a good phone but too steep for its league. We still stand by our word that there are better-specced smartphones at this price range, but hey, it’s Nokia. You get an excellent battery life on this phone and a widescreen real estate, and not to mention, it’s pure Android! So if those are just some of the aspects you look for in a phone, then the Nokia 3.4 is one good choice.

Nokia 3.4 offers long-term user support just like other Nokia smartphones, and as a consumer, this will be the main reason why I will buy the product. For P7,990 (4GB+64GB), it is a worthy device. As a daily driver it gave us an easy and convenient user experience because of its navigation features. It also has a pretty good build like the cutout, the Type-C charging port, and also the gyroscope which is perfect for VR and games. This is a budget-friendly smartphone that offers a future proof user experience with good and acceptable performance and better camera quality versus its price.

The Nokia 3.4 comes with one major selling point, and that's its low, low price. You'll struggle to find a smartphone available for much cheaper than this, but if you're going to limit your budget to this level, make sure you know what you're getting in return.

The Nokia 3.4 is a cheap phone with a battery that should last two days for many, along with clean software and the promise of updates. But limited RAM makes it run slower than we’d like, and as such it's hard to fully recommend even at its low price.

Nokia has the right motives with the 3.4, in that those looking for a budget phone shouldn’t have to settle for poor specs. The cameras on this handset are capable of some truly excellent results, the display is a decent panel at this price, and the Android One platform makes it a nice user experience all round.
