Reviews for the Oppo Reno11

The OPPO Reno11 5G is a striking smartphone. It will certainly turn heads with its polarising design – whether you like it or not is your personal preference but it’s definitely eye-catching. However, the Reno11 just doesn’t feel like a next-generation product – it is a moderately tuned OPPO Reno10, which by itself wasn’t the most impressive smartphone in its price range. OPPO really needs to start paying more attention to the processor and battery of its phones to stand out in the competitive Indian smartphone market since these are key areas of interest. The cameras, which are supposed to be one of the Reno11’s standout features, also are quite inconsistent. The OPPO Reno11 5G faces off against an array of popular mid-range smartphones in the Indian market.

In this day and age, it’s safe to say that our phones are our most trusted companions. Tasked with making our responsibilities easier and getting errands done, our phones are a constant in our daily lives and it’s not often we’re caught without them. As such, it’s imperative that our phones not only perform well, but look good and feel good too. Enter the OPPO Reno11 5G Series, inspired by nature and developed for comfort. Aptly released on 11 January, the OPPO Reno11 series consists of the Reno11 Pro and Reno11. Its design embodies the best of style, nature, colour, and texture as the contrasting layers and slender body come together to make a sleek silhouette. The finishes of the phone also add an extra element of shine and sparkle to it. Here’s a closer look at how OPPO’s latest Reno phone was constructed with design and feel at the forefront.

Despite being a bit more expensive Reno10 5G, the Reno11 5G’s new main camera and added support for 4K selfies make it a promising mid-range phone that’s great for content creation. Granted that it’s very similar to the Reno10 5G, the Reno11 5G’s higher asking price is justified by the significantly better performance of its main camera–proof that Sony’s new LYT sensors will set a new benchmark when it comes to smartphone imaging.

Before concluding this review, we need to talk about price. The OPPO Reno11 5G has a price tag of 24,999 pesos for the 12GB+512GB configuration. Kind of a steep price, but the Reno11 has a great camera that’s able to capture subjects really well especially in well-lit environments and really good battery life. If that’s something you’re into and you like watching videos on your device leveraged on 5G data connectivity, you can’t go wrong with grabbing this guy as your new daily driver. But if you’re someone who likes upping the graphics in your mobile games and night photography, this might not be the one for you.

It's a bit difficult for us to dish out the verdict for this phone. It has the qualities we loved from the Pro variant but at the expense of inferior hardware. To put it into perspective, we could list two other phones in the same price range with better performance and specs. For instance, the Xiaomi 13T features the MediaTek 8200 SoC with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Sure, it has less RAM compared to the Reno 11. But what it lacks in RAM is made up with the newer gen of SoC and better battery life. This phone should cost you around RM1799 to RM1999. On the other hand, you can opt for ASUS ROG Phone 6. The phone might be a bit old, but don't let that discourage you. For a price of RM2299, you will be getting a phone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage and Adreno 730 GPU. It's slightly pricey compared to the Reno 11, but it should offer you good value for money.

Barring photography, the new generation of Reno-series manages to hold its own and is for those users who are seeking a good-performance smartphone that could handle their day-to-day tasks plus more. The curved display and its amazing specs will also not disappoint users as this year Oppo has outdone itself in terms of the display department. Now if we look at its shortcomings then I was not flattered by the Wave Green color variant, therefore, users could also check out the Rock Grey option. Additionally, some users may also not like the pre-installed bloatware. Therefore, if you are looking for a high-performing, camera-savvy smartphone then you can skip this one, however, in terms of performance, it can be a good choice in the mid-range segment.

The OPPO Reno11 5G stands out with its exceptionally sleek 3D glass design delivering a premium aesthetic and tactile sensation that truly impresses. The smartphone offers versatile camera performance in the segment and stunning visuals with its 120 Hz AMOLED display. In addition to these, the 67W SuperVOOC Charge fast charging, stereo speakers, and ColorOS 14’s customizations and personalizations further enhance the overall user experience. All these make the Reno11 5G a well-rounded choice in its segment. For users with a budget over ₹30,000 and seeking a versatile and feature-packed smartphone, the Reno11 5G emerges as a compelling option.

Oppo Reno 11 and 11 Pro do follow the legacy of the Reno series phones and offer a combination of value and specs. Overall, both of the devices can be considered decent choices for the standard variant price point. But if you are looking for a great deal, then consider checking out the Reno 11 would be a fabulous deal. Usually, Reno phones deliver several perks under the hood. Apart from this, both models offer impressive performance, decent display experience, faster refresh rate, long-lasting battery, and good camera results. All of these factors combined make them a worthy deal. But at the same time, these phones are currently exclusive to the Chinese smartphone. In that case, you can check alternative options like Motorola Edge 40 would be a great option. Finally, it’s up to your requirements and budget what you want. Therefore, choose a device that provides value according to your wish.
