realme 13 series was just announced, and we were lucky enough to get our hands on one of their devices—the realme 13 Pro 5G. While it’s essentially the same device as the realme 13 Pro+ 5G, it comes with a few minor tweaks that make it more affordable.

Time to address the elephant in the room—how much is realme’s newest mid range offering? Well, the realme 13 Pro 5G has a suggested retail price of PHP 24,999. This device is available with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Readers can find it on realme’s TikTok Shop. Buyers will also get a free TechLife Portable Steam Iron until stocks last should they act now. Offline offers include an 18-month installment plan with 0% interest. Of course, buyers have to make a purchase from August 28 to September 30, 2024 via Home Credit or Credit Card. To wrap this up, I’m putting the realme 13 Pro 5G up with the POCO F6 I reviewed earlier this year. These devices are offering much of the same things including consistent

I suggest you pick the Realme 12 Pro Plus because it offers better overall performance and far better camera capabilities for the same price, even though it was launched four months earlier. Realme 12 Pro Plus has a significantly better camera setup, color options, faster charging speeds, better sound, and more. That being said, the Realme 13 Pro does have its strengths. It offers good performance, a good and bright display, and satisfactory camera quality, but it is not at the same level as the Pro Plus, and the Realme 12 Pro Plus takes the crown of being best at that price. While the Realme 13 Pro isn't a poor performer, it does feel like it's missing out on some of the standout features that make the Pro Plus shine. The Realme 12 Pro Plus, available at a similar price in India, might be a better option if you want the best camera smartphone under Rs 26,999/- ($320).

Rs 26,999 is the asking price of the Realme 13 Pro’s base 8GB RAM + 256GB variant without any offers or discounts. The 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants are selling with an MRP of Rs 28,999 and Rs 31,999 respectively. The latter might not appeal that much, especially if you don’t need that much storage. The 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM variants with 256GB storage can be considered depending on your requirements. The Motorola Edge 50 (review) and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus (review) would suit performance-oriented users. The handsets also offer a relatively clean software experience, but they are both more expensive (by Rs 1,000) than the Realme smartphone. The Realme 13 Pro should be ideal for those looking for a smartphone that excels in photography, particularly in daylight and portrait scenarios, and offers a stylish and premium look.

The Realme 13 Pro 5G is one of the ideal smartphones at a price range of under Rs.30000. The smartphone offers a crisp display, impressive camera performance, effective multitasking and gameplay, lasting battery life, and more. However, the speaker quality and the charging speed of the smartphone could have been improved. Otherwise, the Realme 13 Pro 5G is a great option if you are looking for an all-rounder smartphone.

In terms of performance, the Realme 13 Pro 5G is loaded with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which is based on a 4nm process. The handset is available with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It runs on Realme UI 5.0, which is based on Android 14. It packs a 5,200mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging. Although it is too early to comment on the performance of the device, during a brief testing period, the performance seems to be fluid. However, there is still a noticeable amount of bloatware present in the Realme UI, especially the Hot Apps and Hot Games, which is a deal breaker for me. That said, we will talk about it in depth in the upcoming review.

Despite offering some upgrades, such as enhanced AI capabilities, a marginally larger battery, and a faster Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, the realme 13 Pro doesn’t make a compelling case for itself as a significant improvement. The omission of a telephoto lens, a standout feature of its predecessor, is a notable downgrade, and the reduction in charging speed from 67W to 45W SUPERVOOC further diminishes its appeal. Merely five months after the launch of the realme 12 Pro series, the new realme 13 Pro series has made its way into the saturated Indian smartphone market. Launched in the cutthroat sub-₹30,000 segment, the realme 13 Pro faces a ton of competition from the likes of phones such as the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion (review), OnePlus Nord CE4 (review), and Nothing Phone (2a) (review).

The realme 13 Pro 5G is simply a winner for its compressive features, we liked its premium matte glass back, its smooth 120 Hz curved AMOLED design, fast performance (Snapdragon 7s Gen 2) with better gaming, impressive cameras, and a bunch of AI features. We expected a 67W fast charging, however, the 45W charging is still good. Combined with them all, the realme 13 Pro 5G stands out as among many smartphones in the segment. For those who have a budget between ₹25,000 to ₹30,000, the realme 13 Pro 5G is a recommended buy.

While I absolutely love the look of this phone, its specs don’t really match up to its price tag. There’s nothing about it that would justify such a price hike compared to its predecessor. One thing that the realme 13 Pro Plus undoubtedly needs is a significant processor upgrade. Even then, the company should think about lowering the price regardless, given that there are many stronger competitors in this segment.

As one of the few brands brave enough to put a periscope camera on a midrange phone, realme did a great job with the 13 Pro+, addressing most of the shortcomings I saw with its predecessor. Using it for three concerts shows that while it still has room for improvement–especially with video stabilization–the realme 13 Pro’s camera performance shows that we’ve come a long way when it comes to midrange phones. It’s nice to see more midrange phones ditching filler cameras for more useful telephoto shooters.

Overall, the realme 13 Pro+ definitely lived up to the expectations I had especially compared to the realme 12 Pro+. It might have the same chipset, but the cameras have definitely improved a lot It looks a lot better too, and I wouldn’t mind using this phone without the provided case. Still, the question remains, how much does it cost now? Well, the realme 13 Pro+ 5G is still an affordable smartphone with a starting price of PHP 28,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant. If you want the same 12GB+512GB variant, you will have to shell out a bit more at PHP 31,999. It’s a lot more expensive than before since the realme 12 Pro+ retailed at PHP 25,999. Honestly, the trade-up is worth it if you really want to capture nice photos.

While you’re getting a significant upgrade with the telephoto camera, display, and overall ergonomics, the realme 13 Pro+ could have been a great midrange device if not for its steep price tag. With a starting price of Php 29k (Php 32k for the 512GB variant), that’s a steep hike considering that the realme 12 Pro+ retailed for Php 25,999 for the 512GB variant. If realme Philippines stuck with the pricing in India, where the 512GB variant is priced at around Php 25k, the 13 Pro+ could have been a great deal–a killer one at that since there’s no midrange phone that has a telephoto camera as good as what the realme 13 Pro+ has.

Let me answer the important question: Should you buy the Realme 13 Pro Plus smartphone? Well, yes, but… If you want a camera smartphone that takes great shots day and night and has other basic features like good performance, fast charging, a better display, and attractive looks, you can go for the Realme 13 Pro Plus. If you want powerful performance with an average to good camera, go for the Realme 6T GT. If you are a gamer and play more games, go for the Poco F6. If you want a solid smartphone with a metal build, great build quality, smooth software, and good cameras, go for the OnePlus Nord 4. There is also the iQOO 9 Pro, which comes down to under 30k with discounts, offers great performance and camera, and is even better than the Realme GT 6T. Not every smartphone can satisfy all your needs. We have created a decision matrix below to help you make a better choice. We have divided users into six segments and compared four popular smartphones in this range to see which better suits your needs.

While it may not match up to competitors like the OnePlus Nord 4 and Motorola Edge 50 Pro in terms of raw performance and software features, it stands out as an excellent option for photography enthusiasts. The AI-enhanced camera system, complete with advanced sensors and Realme’s innovative Hyperimage+ technology, delivers impressive photo and video quality. Overall, the Realme 13 Pro+ is a good smartphone. However, there are issues. Being a camera centric smartphone, this processes the images quite slow, often leading to wrong shots. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, although still powerful, doesn’t offer any upgrade in the performance. With the addition of upgraded camera hardware and AI features, a slight bump in performance was necessary. The battery and charging are good, but then again the software experience isn’t. Realme is back with another number series smartphone a few months after introducing the previous iteration with the Realme 12 series. The Realme 13 series, like its predecessor, includes the Realme 13 Pro and Realme 13 Pro+ for now and both the smartphones come with several upgrades over the previous generation. This time around, apart from the general camera and design that Realme always focuses on with the number series, the brand is also pushing for AI. There are many AI features and AI capabilities that are included with the Realme 13 and Realme 13 Pro+.

The Realme 13 Pro Plus 5G, priced at Rs. 36,999, is undoubtedly a strong contender in the mid-range segment. The device delivers a strong package with a standout camera system. Its AI-enhanced photography, coupled with a versatile lens setup, captures impressive shots. The sleek design, vibrant display, and excellent battery life are additional highlights. However, performance might not match top-tier competitors. While the handset handles most tasks smoothly, gamers or those seeking peak performance might be disappointed. Additionally, some AI features, like the AI Eraser and AI Ultra Quality, need improvement. If you prioritise camera quality, good battery life, and a sleek design, the Realme 13 Pro Plus 5G is worth considering. But if gaming or high-end performance are your top priorities, you might want to explore other options.

I'd totally recommend this phone to anyone looking to buy a good camera phone under Rs. 35,000 over all its competitors. And the Realme 13 Pro+ has plenty to fight off. There's the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G (Review), the recently launched OnePlus Nord 4 (Review) with its metal build, the performance powerhouse Poco F6 (Review), the Samsung Galaxy A35 (Review), and the just-launched Motorola Edge 50. All of these devices offer something more in other departments, but when it comes to cameras, nothing really matches up to the Realme. In some cases the camera also performs better than phones that cost more than Rs. 50,000. However, like I said, if you want a phone mostly for camera performance, then the Realme 13 Pro+ is the easy recommendation. Apart from the great cameras, you also get plenty of AI features, a good display, loudspeakers, and a great design. It's a great phone overall and definitely the best camera phone in the segment.

Realme 13 Pro Plus launched recently, with a lot of capabilities like long battery life, fast charging, carved display, AI-based periscope camera and fast processor. One of the best features that caught my eye was the AI feature. It is because there is no phone at a mid-range price that promises to give those features. Its AI-loaded camera excellently delivers the best images, which can also compete with low-end DSLRs. It also has AI-integrated features like an AI eraser to remove unwanted objects from photos, which you have seen in Samsung Galaxy S24 models. These types of premium features you get in the Realme 13 Pro Plus phones. Right there, its camera design disappoints you, due to which the phone appears to be bulging out on the flat surface.

The Realme 13 Pro does a remarkable job in one area, while maintaining a very high standard in the rest of the disciplines that matter. Strong on the fundamentals, the 13 Pro+ excels in endurance, charges quickly, and has a super-bright display. It's reasonably tightly sealed against water too, something that does not come by default among its peers. The 13 Pro+'s trump card among the competition is its telephoto camera that takes photos with unrivaled quality in its segment. Dedicated zoom modules are a rarity in this context to begin with, and not only does the Realme have one, but it's also a properly high-quality one. The main camera is also among the best in the class, and the two can easily make up for the so-so ultrawide.

Some people may think that the way to enjoy a mobile game is to have the best setup. The best display, fastest chipset, and long-lasting battery to last the grind. But that's obviously not the case, especially since there are plenty of people who can't afford these flagship phones. Mid-range devices are better than ever, allowing us to enjoy the latest games at good graphical fidelity and stable frame rates. So, what's a good mid-range phone to pick up this October? If you're out to purchase a budget phone that's great for gaming and offers good battery life, the Realme 13+ is an excellent choice. The phone also has a decent primary rear camera, a smooth display, and a nice minimal design, and you get a segment-best 80W fast charging. However, if you're upgrading from a Realme 12+, I think you should skip this one. There are quite a few alternatives in the same price range. For example, the Nothing Phone 2a (Review) is also a good choice if you want a unique design, similar performance, decent cameras, and a much better software experience.

The Realme 13 Plus managed to provide what it claimed and that is a premium mid-range experience at a budget price tag. The design is color-accurate and bright, which will surely impress a lot of people. It has a modern design similar to Realme’s higher-priced smartphones. On top of that, the chipset has better gaming performance, considering the price. Even the battery and charging speed are excellent. The hardware inside is honestly great, and Realme did a good job. The pricing is also okay, but the competition is tough, and other smartphones are offering either better specs at the same price or the same specs at a lower price. For example, the Nothing Phone (2a) comes at a slightly higher price tag but provides much better build quality, design, display, camera, and even faster performance than the Realme 13 Plus. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.

The Realme 13+ 5G is a gaming beast on a budget. With the Dimensity 7300 Energy, a sophisticated cooling system, and 90 FPS gaming support, the phone is an obvious choice for mobile gaming enthusiasts. And it’s not a one-trick pony. The 6.67-inch OLED display is bright and crisp, the battery life is impressive, with excellent endurance and fast charging capabilities, and the primary camera produces solid results. The phone’s design, however, feels lacklustre compared to other Realme models, and the lack of an ultrawide camera is disappointing. Additionally, the phone’s bloatware is just excessive; there’s no mild way to put it. Realme has been leaning heavily into catering to the mobile gaming market in 2024 with launches like the powerful Realme P1 and, now, the Realme 13+ 5G.

If performance and gaming matter to you, the Realme 13+, with its sleek build, is sure to impress. Even for battery-focused customers, it’s a solid recommendation. Another bonus is for BGMI fans, as the phone delivers consistently high frame rates with HDR graphics. However, Realme should consider improving its UI and user experience by reducing the number of pre-installed apps, especially since brands like Motorola and Nothing are setting a benchmark in this area. Additionally, extending the Android OS update promise from two to three years would likely attract more potential customers. For those switching from a Realme or even Redmi device, the Realme 13+ won’t disappoint.

The realme 13+ 5G differentiates itself with a blend of powerful performance and user-centric features, making it a compelling option for gamers and everyday users alike. Overall, one of the outstanding features of the realme 13 5G is its camera performance. It may not be as good as its pro variants but it manages to output an on-par quality. Aside from that it has a good display, with decent battery and charging performance. It may not have the vegan leather design it still has a unique touch to its overall design. Is it worth it for its price? Maybe. It is not the best phone at its price point but if you wanted a realme 13 device but you’re on a tight budget then this device is a solid buy.

At the start of the article, I noted that this phone does deliver under the necessary areas. That being said, I’m sure that its reliable performance is a surefire advantage for the realme 13 5G. Other than that, the phone also excels with its great battery life. It’s rated for an entire day’s usage, going through different tests with consistent results. However, it does have contentious points under its display, design, and software. I want to say that the pros outweigh the cons, but honestly, it evens out. Then again, things I didn’t like about the device are subjective. All I can say is, if you’re interested, then you’ll get a reliable daily driver for sure. My gripes lie with inconsistencies in display, bloatware plus ads, and a bit of lag during browsing.

The realme 13 achieves its goal as a budget gaming phone that combines a large display and battery with sufficient performance to tackle most mobile games. It even manages to cram in a camera with OIS and even manages to shoehorn in 5G connectivity too. As it stands, this is an otherwise decent all-rounder though if you have the budget to spare, get the higher end realme 13+ variant. The realme 13 is a budget gaming phone that has a large display, stereo speakers, 5G connectivity and sufficient endurance and performance to make it a decent offering for its price range.

The Realme 13 5G comes in two storage options: 8GB+128GB for Rs 17,999 and 8GB+256GB for Rs 19,999. However, it’s up against strong competition like the Moto G85 (review), Redmi 13 5G (review), and iQOO Z9x (review). The Moto G8 delivers similar performance, with the added bonus of a sleek design and an OLED display for a better multimedia experience. The Redmi 13 5G matches the performance, takes better selfies, and comes at a lower price. The iQOO Z9x outperforms the Realme 13 5G and is also more affordable. While the Realme 13 5G has its strengths in the camera department and battery life, it seems to be priced a bit high for what it offers.
