As you've probably gathered by now, we find it hard to recommend the Galaxy A60 in the presence of phones such as the Realme X, the Mi A3, and the Redmi K20/Mi 9T in the same price range. Unfortunately, the Galaxy A60 has almost nothing going for it except for its rather decent battery life endurance and good computational performance.

While the Samsung Galaxy M40 is the top-end model in the lineup, there’s no denying the fact that Samsung has cut a few corners with this smartphone. The phone doesn’t have an AMOLED display, 3.5mm headphone jack and comes with a lower capacity battery. These are the downgrades that don’t make the phone worthy of its ₹19,990 price tag.

A really good package, the Samsung Galaxy M40 brings an excellent design, solid ergonomics, and reasonably good cameras to the table. Dips in performance and mediocre battery life, when placed next to the competition, make it fall short of perfection.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 has a lot going for it. But unless you are a gaming fan who is crazy about the Samsung brand, we are not too sure where it is headed. It is easily the most powerful M series device, but its pricing puts it in a very odd place.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 is a good phone that falls just short of excellence. It isn’t quite the perfect package, but it might be the phone for you if design excellence ranks higher than overall performance in your books. What do you think about the Galaxy M40? Is this the phone to take away the crown from Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 Pro or is the smaller battery and weak camera enough of a deterrent?

The Samsung Galaxy M40 crams in a tonne of features, which instantly makes it a very attractive option even amongst Samsung's other A-series and M-series offerings. Some of its highlight features are segment firsts, such as the Screen Sound tech for voice calls and a hole-punch display. Add to that the ample RAM and storage and the powerful SoC — all of it sounds too good to be true. However, Samsung has had to cut a few corners to sell the Galaxy M40 at this price.

Samsung Galaxy M40 is the company’s best attempt to give a stiff competition to its rivals in this price band. The company has introduced some new features like the punch-hole design. The performance is slightly better as compared to the other Samsung smartphones at this price range. The display looks good, though it is not as punchy as OLED screens present in other Samsung smartphones. Furthermore, the absence of the 3.5mm audio jack and inclusion of Type-C headsets might turn against it. That said, it is still a better device from Samsung in this price band.

The Galaxy M40 is a sweet addition to the Galaxy M lineup, but one cannot deny that Samsung has cut quite a few corners with this one. The reason Galaxy M30 and Galaxy M20 worked is because they offered a robust set of features at aggressive prices. The Galaxy M40, on the other hand, misses an AMOLED display, drops the headphone jack and chops down the battery, which are some serious downgrades for its price of Rs 19,990.

Samsung Galaxy M40 appears to be a decent phone for the price. Yes, there are multiple options in the market like the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Moto G7, but still I genuinely liked the Galaxy M40. It gets a lot of things right, and that’s what matters to average users at the end of the day. If you are looking to buy a mid-range smartphone that offers a large display for watching videos, has a respectable camera and looks stylish, I think you should probably consider the Galaxy M40.

So, yeah, the verdict is that you should get the Galaxy A50 and simply ignore the Galaxy M40. If the Galaxy M40 drops in price below the Galaxy A50, it might become easier to recommend, although the price will have to drop considerably for that to happen. It’s great to see that Samsung is offering you multiple options in a similar price range, something it has never done before, but this round goes to the Galaxy A50.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 is a power-packed performer, with a premium design, capable cameras, an operating system optimised for one-hand use, and a decent battery. Consider the M40 if you need a reliable smartphone for casual gaming, versatile imaging and all-round multimedia capabilities.

On the other hand, the excellent display, great ergonomics and versatile camera are all useful additions that improve usability in a meaningful way. It is still early days, but the Galaxy M40 has the makings of a credible mid-range champion. The phone is priced at 19,990 rupees (~$280) and will be available starting June 14.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 is surely one of the best-designed smartphones from Samsung in this price range. The phone is equipped with a compact form factor and the display looks immersive in nature. The hardware used is fair good and the company is giving you some decent camera hardware as well. The battery seems to be a down point and the device will face stiff competition from the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro, Realme 3 Pro, Nokia 8.1, and more.
