Vivo Y55s Review So far, we have covered the major specifications of the Vivo Y55s smartphone. The big display size, huge battery support, huge RAM, and 5G support can be some good attractions for this smartphone. If you are a regular user and want to upgrade your smartphone at a medium budget you can go for the Vivo Y55s smartphone as per your requirement. However, the Vivo has missed many advanced features in this smartphone. Vivo Y55s does not support NFC, there is no Corning Gorilla Glass protection and no IP certification as well as no support of HDR10+ and you won’t be able to record 4K videos. Besides, the refresh rate is average that can hinder a faster internet browsing experience. The Vivo Y55s smartphone launched in mainland China at the price point of $271 (Rs 20,499 in India), apart from this, there’s no news that this phone will release outside China for now. As for the design aspect, the makers bring an aesthetic yet straightforward layout. Besides this, you will attain a large panel 6.58-inches IPS LCD panel that provides decent pixel density. As far as the software skin is concerned, you will obtain an Android 11 based Origin OS that renders several customization options. The hardware section is not behind as you receive the MediaTek MT6833 Dimensity 700 5G chipset, though the phone didn’t support the NFC features. The camera board includes a 50MP primary sensor with a 2MP macro lens. This dual-camera setup will capture apt photos and gyro-EIS stable videos. As for the selfie camera, you are getting an 8MP lens at the helm. All of them, powered by a 6000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. Altogether, you can choose the Black, Blue, and Pink colors variant. The phone is configured with 8GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage.

Vivo promises a speedy smartphone when they introduced the Y55s in the country, and the company did not disappoint. At Php8,490, it’s one of the most affordable devices packed with 3GB RAM and a quad-core Snapdragon chip, and it does a good job balancing all elements into one smartphone into a device that[‘s good for overall multitasking, casual mobile photography, and good connectivity.

Camera lens is satisfactory though colors are dull but the overall result is fine as compared to other android handsets. Moreover it provides us good battery life. The Vivo Y55s makes for a decent entry-level smartphone but simply isn’t strong enough to hold its own against its current competition. The Redmi Note 4, Moto G4 Plus and Honor 6X are much better options that will serve you a lot better. The Y55s has some good qualities like a comfortable form factor, good battery life, dedicated microSD card slot and 4G with VoLTE support, but it needs a more powerful SoC, a higher resolution display, a fingerprint sensor and better cameras.

To sum it up, the Vivo Y55s does gives a good battery backup and doesn’t disappoint on multi-tasking or performing regular tasks. But still, it lacks two features, which have become a standard in this price segment: Full HD display and fingerprint sensor. In our opinion, there are many other devices like Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Honor 6X, Coolpad Note 5, and more, which gives a far better performance and specifications as compared to this one. To conclude, the Force is not that Strong with this one.

The Vivo Y55s is a depandable smartphone, and it'll reach more people, being sold offline. It's good to know that offline buyers have a dependable phone to buy, but in the market at large, the Y55s is simply not up to its competition. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 costs about the same and is faster, with better battery life and faster performance. On the other hand, the Moto G5 Plus costs much more, but has a vastly better camera, faster performance and better battery life too. The Vivo Y55s is appreciable, but not what we would recommend.

The Vivo Y55s is a decent phone that scores when it comes to camera as the images turn out to be crisp, clear and bring out good color. It has a good build and is lightweight. However, at a price point of Rs. 12,490 the phone does not come with a fingerprint sensor which is a letdown. It supports dual SIM cards and has a dedicated micro SD card slot which is great. To sum it up, here are the pros and cons.

At the mid-range price, the Vivo Y55 sounds quite affordable and has all the right features, including a fine display, great processor, decent cameras, and exceptional battery performance. This smartphone will not disappoint, especially with its modern design, which looks quite sophisticated and certainly won’t embarrass you if you take it out of your pocket in public. Not to mention, it is a 5G smartphone which at this price range is a good deal. So, if you are happy with the features that Vivo Y55 can provide, then it’s a wonderful smartphone. If you are looking for an alternative option, you can check out the Xiaomi Poco M4 smartphone that comes with 5G support with decent specs.

The Vivo Y55 smartphone went official in Taiwan as an affordable 5G smartphone with an exciting camera. The main rear camera is a 50MP sensor that can take some good photos along with a 2MP depth and 2MP macro sensor. The 7nm Mediatek Dimensity 700 5G SoC powers the smartphone and is capable of handling most of the day-to-day apps with ease. You get to choose the phone in two memory configurations, 4GB/6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The display is an IPS LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution, which is certainly surprising at this price range as most other smartphones just come in a 720p display. The battery inside has a capacity of Li-Po 5000mAh and can charge at a rate of 18W fast charging. The phone supports the Android 11 operating system with Funtouch 12 UI and has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor along with gyro, compass, and all of the sensors that you find in most other budget smartphones. The price of the smartphone is set at $275 (Rs 21,000 in India) approx.

To put it into simple words, the Vivo Y55s (2023) is just a rebranded version of the Vivo Y55s (2021) with design changes and new software skin. Apart from this, most of the aspects are pretty much similar. The phone got a moderate processing unit, average camera results, and standard screen time. Without any advanced refresh rate or fancy features. If you are looking for a decent phone in the same price range, we would recommend you to look for the Realme 10 Pro as it will deliver better performance, a higher refresh rate, appealing camera results, decent battery life, and many more factors. We only suggest you purchase the Vivo Y55s (2023) only if you are getting some discount offers.
