Simply put, the Mi Max is a great phablet device, especially when you look at the pricing which is just AED 899. Xiaomi has cut corners in some places such as design and build quality, but makes up for it with its performance and battery life. So, if you are on the lookout for a cheap phablet, but are willing to look over some minor flaws, then the Xiaomi Mi Max is a good choice.

The Max is a weird device. It sits halfway between Redmi and Mi series products, but in most respects, it’s closer to Redmi devices in terms of overall performance and build quality. This is reflected in the price as well, so you can pick up an entry-level Mi Max for about $170, which is quite nice.

You never feel like you’ve been short changed in any area, with a Full HD IPS display that’s vibrant enough for on-the-go movie watching, performance that lets Android tick along nicely, and a design that doesn’t feel too cheap either. There are even some clever software tweaks going on behind the scenes, something we hope Xiaomi brings back for its top-end phones. Sure, it’s plastic fantastic when you get close, and it doesn’t have the best camera, but if all you care about is a massive display, the Mi Max has got you covered.

Now for how much all this will cost. Xiaomi has fitted the Mi Max with a R4 700 price tag. As such, for the outlay of a mid-range device, users will be getting something close to a flagship phablet range, minus a few frills of course. In terms of value for money and sheer inches then, the Mi Max is a standout. That said, the 6.44" frame is not for everyone and only those that will be consuming a lot of content, as well as doing a fair bit of multitasking will get the most out of the Mi Max.

If you can look beyond the huge dimensions of the Mi Max you'll discover a great smartphone with enough performance to keep you moving at a comfortable pace. It also helps that the battery will last four days on the trot. It's great, but only if you can handle a big chunk of aluminium.

I have to admit that Xiaomi Mi Max look much better from Cubot Max. But if we take under consideration that the Cubot has a better camera from Mi Max, the battery is removable and for only 114.99€, you get a very good and big mobile, I would toss it easily. On the other hand, Mi Max comes for 195.99€, almost twice the price from Cubot, but with better characteristics. So if you are looking for a good, big mobile, Cubot Max is your choice. If you can afford more money, then you should look at Mi Max.

Using the Xiaomi Mi Max for a couple of weeks was an enlightening experience. The phone is enormous, but there’s no doubting the quality of the hardware Xiaomi has managed to include at an affordable price point. Most of the issues I had with the Mi Max relate to its size. At 6.44-inches, there is simply no comfortable way to hold and operate this smartphone in one hand, at least without resorting to constantly using the one-handed software mode. Restricted to two-handed use in the majority of circumstances, the Mi Max quickly became cumbersome, particularly when I wanted to hold another object while operating this device.

The Mi Max bridges the gap between a tablet and a large smartphone by bringing you the best of both worlds. While this phone is not meant for everyone, it is a definite choice for someone in search of a compact tablet. I am one of those and absolutely enjoyed my time with the MI Max. And before you ask – Yes, it does fit in a jeans pocket and it will restrict certain movements, but when out of pocket, be prepared for some massive fun.

While the Xiaomi Mi Max is one of the very few in its segment, the trend of smartphones with display sizes bigger than 6 inches and less than 7 inches is expected to rise in the next few months. Xiaomi seems to have hit the centre point between offering the immersive experience of tablets with the design and features of a smartphone. While the handset is definitely big, the experience while gaming or watching videos or consuming other media is definitely noteworthy. Added to that, the performance and long-lasting battery life make it just perfect.

The Xiaomi Mi Max has few competitors in the ‘Max’ category. As we have mentioned in past reviews, it’s not just the battery life that matters but the overall package and Xiaomi seems to have built a solid smartphone with a solid battery life. We were not fans of the software but the camera won us over and the same goes for the overall package.

It's safe to say that the Mi Max is yet another solid offering from Xiaomi, only this time, it's targeted at a rather niche market. There could be some demand for phones with enormous displays, and now buyers have a decent option. The Mi Max could potentially inject new life into this segment as it's a very good all-rounder. Its size is a subjective matter, as many people don't make a lot of voice calls, but do like watching movies and reading books. A device such as this could eliminate the need to use a separate phone and tablet, at home and also while traveling or commuting.

If you want a huge phone and you don’t want to pay as large a wedge of cash, the Xiaomi Mi Max is a fantastic phablet with good looks, decent performance, strong runtime and, most importantly of all, a gigantic screen. Not ideal for novice users, but otherwise the Mi Max is a highly recommended smartphone.

The Mi Max certainly feels like a first attempt at what is largely unchartered territory for Xiaomi. While it has undercut the competition in price, it has also cut corners in many areas: the device's cheap build quality, poor imported device software experience, and lack U.S. availability are clearly disappointing attributes. But no smartphone is perfect, and the Mi Max has plenty to offer for the price. Its impressive camera, excellent battery life, and smooth performance are all great reasons to buy this phone.

We live in the digital renaissance where everything can be found online, but our windows to it are tiny - as tiny as the screens of the phones we're holding. There are people in developing markets whose only computer is their phone. From this perspective, you can clearly see there is a market niche for big screen phones. The nice is not necessarily a big one but it's big enough to fit these large-screen monsters.

There are few direct competitors to the Mi Max, for handsets with screens this big are rare and you're more likely to settle for a 6-inch or 7-inch device if you are looking for an alternative. And then, there's the price. In China, India and neighboring countries, the phablet starts from $230, which is a very good price. But the rest of the world will have to deal with markups, shipping, and import costs that could push the device between $300 to $400.

只有较少的手机有很大的屏幕。
大尺寸可以让屏幕有更高的分辨率。因而例如字体等的细节将会更丰富。不过另一方面,小屏幕的功耗会较低,而设备也会更轻盈小巧,售价更低。
