In a sea of similar-looking budget phones, the Poco C65 tries to stand out with its unique design, large display and long-lasting battery life. The 6.74-inch display has a teardrop notch and 720p resolution, which feels outdated in 2024. The MediaTek Helio G85 is decent for day-to-day tasks, but opening apps can take awfully long due to the eMMC 5.1 storage. The 50-megapixel camera can take decent shots in the day but disappoints at night. The 5,000mAh battery can easily last a day, but the 10W charger can take a lot of time to charge.MIUI 14 is feature-packed, and the promise of 2 OS updates seems alluring, but the bloatware-ridden experience leaves mixed feelings. Overall, the Poco C65 is a good budget phone if you can look past the 720p screen, 10W charging and the bloatware. You can also consider other alternatives, such as the Motorola Moto G24 Power, Infinix Note 12i and the Poco M6 5G.

The POCO C65 phone falls into the category of economical and cheap phones. If you need a phone for daily tasks and phone calls that is also smart, this product will be a good choice for you. Among its strengths, you can mention the Helio G85 chip, the IPS LCD display and the possibility of adding a side memory card to the product. Keep in mind that this phone will not meet the needs of gamers and those who want to take professional photos with the phone. Therefore, if you want a second cheap phone or you can get by with a cheap phone, this phone will be suitable for you.

There is no perfect phone — or rather a phone without compromises in the budget segment. And when it comes to segment under Rs 10,000, there is absolutely no one that is going to give to users everything. There are compromises. With the Poco C65 too there are compromises. But it is also a phone where the compromises aren’t too many. In fact, when it comes to basics — design, performance, display, camera, battery life — the C65 gets it all right. The only two major issues, in my opinion are bloatware and lack of 5G. If you do not mind these two issues, or if you can compromise on them, I feel the Poco C65 is one of the best under Rs 10,000 phone you can buy. In fact, given how good its camera and how generous Poco is with RAM and storage, the Poco C65 should be high-up on the shortlist of everyone looking to purchase a phone around Rs 10,000.

The POCO C65 is a no-frills 4G smartphone, best suited for entry-level users. It offers a tall display, which is good for reading and watching content on YouTube. The battery backup is equally solid, and I am happy with the Type-C charging port. While the box includes a charger, you may want to spend a little extra on a more capable charger to enjoy faster charging. Whether to go for the smartphone, I would advise you to not choose the 256GB storage option, as it is an overkill for this segment. Its 128GB option with 6GB RAM should be sufficient for handling daily work, whether it’s watching short videos on social media or using WhatsApp. If you’re okay with spending Rs 10,000, I feel the POCO M6 5G is a better option. You may also want to check out Redmi 13C or Redmi 13C 5G (review) on Amazon, which are almost identical to the POCO C65 and POCO M6 5G, respectively. Whichever phone is available with the best offers, you may want to go for that.

For the price, yes, you should buy the Poco C65, especially if you get the Rs. 1,000 instant discount. It's got a large screen, good battery life, and decent build quality. The 50-megapixel rear camera offers average performance in daylight but isn't very good at night. However, the phone lacks 5G support, but there aren't many phones in this price segment that offer this feature. If you're looking for a budget Android phone with a big display and a battery but don't particularly care about performance or cameras, then definitely give the Poco C65 a look.

The POCO C65 enters the competitive budget smartphone arena with a compelling proposition, blending affordability with a suite of decent features. Priced attractively, especially with its early bird offer starting around $102, it targets a segment of consumers who prioritize value for money without excessive compromise on performance and features. POCO C65 Review: The New King of Entry-Level Phones? This phone shines with its MediaTek Helio G85 processor, ensuring smooth performance for everyday tasks and light gaming. With a 6.74-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, adds to its appeal. However, the device is not without its drawbacks. The teardrop notch design and the thick chin may seem a tad outdated to some users. Moreover, the camera setup, while decent in well-lit conditions, exhibits limitations in low-light photography, a common challenge in budget smartphones. So far, I’ve come across several budget POCO smartphones that get the blend of features, performance, and affordability right but the POCO C65, sadly, isn’t a smash hit. Yes, we are treated to a few improvements such as the 90 Hz display, faster charging, and sleeker body, but the misses are disappointing in the competitive Indian smartphone market. The lack of 5G, when other competitors offer it, is monumental in 2023. I am certain several phones will begin offering 5G starting next year, and the C65 was a great opportunity for POCO to gain a leg up in the game, which they missed out on. At ₹8,499 for the base 4 GB + 128 GB variant, it is a decent option for users who want a basic phone for simple tasks, but that’s about it. However, for power users, this is not the play. A great alternative at this price is the Lava Blaze 2 5G. It has similar features with a faster 5G processor.

Overall, the POCO C65 is not just a budget-friendly 4G smartphone, it looks stylish, offers plenty of RAM and storage (8 GB + 256 GB), offers a smooth 90 Hz screen, performs decently in the segment, and packs a bunch of MIUI 14 perks. All these make the POCO C65 a noteworthy contender in the entry-level smartphone segment. The price starts at ₹8,499 for its base variant which can be grabbed at ₹7,499 with offers while the top variant with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage is available for ₹9,999 with offers.

Before we end this review, we have to talk about the price. The POCO C65 starts at PHP 4,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant, while the 8GB+256GB variant is priced at PHP 5,999. However, do note these prices are part of the early bird promo, and prices will go up soon. This makes it a very affordable phone, whether its for personal use or business. So, that’s about it for this review of the POCO C65. It’s got decent specs, enough to even run Genshin, and a decent camera, all for a very affordable price. But what do you think? Is it a budget phone you’ll consider this holiday season? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

We could go on, but you kind of get the point. Honestly, we didn't hate our time with the Poco C65. It is a decent enough device. Its biggest weakness, in our opinion, is the poor performance afforded by the Helio G85 chipset. Other than that, it has almost no glaring flaws, and even the performance is pretty hard to complain about at this price point. If we were shopping in this price range, we would probably try to get something that runs just a bit smoother than the Poco C65. If adjusting the budget is not an option, it should do just fine.
