The Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA is one of the weaker entries in the ZenBook series - a series which contains laptops we've recommended countless other times. The UX360CA is a bit of a harder sell. You pay extra for the hinge, the application of the touchscreen spoils the display quality, and it just doesn't feel as well-made as some of the other ZenBooks with normal laptop hinges.

Asus has been in a rich vein of form with the ZenBook range. It has been the go-to place to find an ultraportable laptop that won’t break the bank. However, this new 360-degree hinge version ultimately disappoints. Issues include a drop in build quality, a problematic trackpad and a display that, while good in several respects, has a dated and highly reflective screen architecture. Having liked and loved several previous mid-range ZenBooks, we were hoping to have similar feelings about the Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA. Its concept is sound, and so is the hinge that brings that concept to life. However, the new benefits are outweighed by the new problems. Hopefully they’ll be addressed in a future update of this design.

Its overall performance isn’t quite up to scratch compared to other £750 laptops – you can get the same kind of performance from Asus’ own excellent UX305CA for £150 less, after all, but that model doesn’t come with a rotatable hinge. The Lenovo Yoga 700 is a little faster for roughly the same price as the UX360CA, but if you’re looking to save some money and aren’t fussed about the hinge, then I’d still recommend the UX305CA as my mid-range laptop of choice. It might not be a hybrid, but it’s just as fast as the UX360CA and shares the same high-end build quality.

Really, I've been recommending the Flip for all kinds of people. I even talked to diehard Macbook Air fans who wanted to know why Apple doesn't do the flippy 2-in-1 thing. Good question. (Update: said person bought the ASUS. They had a bit of a rough start with the "premium software" but, otherwise, are super happy with the switch)

We are undecided on which we like better: the ZenBook Flip's long-running battery, or its silent, fanless operation. We also appreciate the sleek, thin aluminum chassis at its low price. Furthermore, the IPS display and its wide viewing angles are a perfect match for a convertible system whose display will find itself bent through a host of contortions if it's indeed used as a 2-in-1.

I have always been a fan of convertible laptops, and ASUS has gotten good at making them. The configuration I reviewed wasn’t as powerful as the previous models, but the ASUS Zenbook Flip UX360C is still a great choice if you are looking a portable laptop, provided you have an extra AED3499 set aside.

We were keen to take a look inside the ZenBook however the two halves of the chassis are joined by a couple of ribbon cables that were glued in place. We may well have been able to unpeel the cables but it felt like a risky move so we backed off rather than breaking one of only a handful of sample ZenBooks at the time of writing.

It’s great to see a notebook that offers more than just a lower price. The Zenbook Flip is no doubt a luxury product, with its ultra-thin design, luxury feel and solid performance. Even if you don't need the touchscreen, it’s a product that's a worthy competitor to the Apple Macbook. There are a few things that hold it back a little, with a weaker hinge than I'd like and a highly reflective screen. But as a complete package, the UX360CA proves that it’s possible to have a fantastic ultraportable notebook with minimal compromise.

ASUS proved once again that thin, light and elegant ZenBooks are still a thing and keep up with today’s industry standards. There are no corners cut and the notebook provides elevated user experience compared to its predecessor – the UX305. Yes, sure, it costs a bit more but adds tons of other features that the older model didn’t have while keeping what’s important. It has the same nice-looking, premium and sturdy chassis, excellent keyboard – although the LED-backlit illumination is still missing – and touchpad, it’s thin and light and adds a cool 360-degree rotatable hinge design.

The Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA is a lightweight notebook that trades performance for a quiet, fanless design. It has a vivid display that you can customize to your liking, and you won't spend too much time uninstalling junk from your machine. The best part about this 2-in-1 is its long battery life.

To conclude, the Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA is no doubt a premium looking laptop which comes with sleek design coupled with some decent performance. But still, it has its hits and misses in some department including reflective screen, lower processor and occasional crashes when switched between tablet and laptop. Overall, the device can be considered as a good option for those who are looking for a portable device with some impressive battery life and want to enjoy the best of both worlds.

The Asus Zenbbook Flip UX360CA is definitely a laptop worth considering, but it's not the best in this price range. That said, the Zenbook Flip is a good choice if your priority is portability and thinness.

Asus has tried something new with the ZenBook Flip, and is keeping up with the likes of Lenovo. It’s a good laptop, but only if you really value the touchscreen and tablet-style functionality. The price is reasonable considering there's a 512GB SSD - the 128GB model is priced much lower, but you can still get better performance and a more elegant body if you choose an ordinary laptop.

If you move around then the most important things with a notebook/tablet are good battery life and unless you spend a good bit of time in the gym the weight of the unit or to be precise the lack of weight, this unit from ASUS ticks both boxes.

With a price tag of Rs 46,990, users get a convertible hybrid laptop, which is light, slim and portable. Performance is not a plus point for the laptop, especially for average and heavy users. While the Intel Core M is energy efficient and can handle most apps, it still stutters at times. The display too doesn't break ground as such. For the given specifications and the actual real life performance, the device should've been priced below Rs 40,000.

Yes, its overall performance is poor compared to its laptop peers: you can buy the same kind of speed from Asus’ own UX305CA for $1,299, after all. If you’re looking to save money and aren’t worried about the 360-degree hinge, then the UX305CA remains the mid-range laptop of choice. But if you want a little more versatility, the ZenBook Flip UX360CA is an excellent buy.
