The Honor X20 SE smartphone performance is as good as you’d expect from the MediaTek Dimensity chipset. Combining Mali-G57 MC2 with the chipset offers better performance for gamers too. It might be a complete phone with all the necessary features, but you have to compromise with a less battery capacity. With this budget, some better phones are available in the market. If you are looking for an alternative, the Moto One 5G UW Ace comes with some cool and advanced features.

The Honor X20 is undoubtedly a useful smartphone, regardless of whether it is used for regular tasks or for gaming purposes. Compared to the X20 SE, you won’t find much difference, except for the battery. While the X20 comes with a 4300mAh battery along with a 66W fast charger which is this phone’s special offer, the X20 SE comes with just a 4000mAh battery along with a 22.5W fast charger. So far, this one it’s a better phone than the other option, but there are also many alternatives. As there is no surety of global availability, you can search for other strong options. Suppose you are getting a 108 MP camera, bigger battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, or even an AMOLED display instead of some old specs, which would you choose? I hope we are certainly attracted to the best. That’s what the Infinix Zero X Pro smartphone offers with some of the best specs at a decent price.

The main reason to buy the Honor X30i smartphone in the first place would be its low-cost 5G tag, which you’re getting at $200. Besides that, the specs and price ratio are uniform as you’ll get a decent camera, Optimized software, robust performance, wide gameplay, and better battery capacity. However, if you compare all this with the competition, some smartphones can outperform the X30i, like the Oppo K9s. Even so, Honor is a brand known for its robust design and performance, and in this section, manufacturers get a few things. The Honor X30i is a recommended deal for those users looking for 5G support at an affordable price. However, if in your country, 5G connectivity is not available, going for a 4G device in the same price range would be a great deal because of the value for money but the final decision is up to you.

The Honor X30 Max smartphone is a decent mid-ranger 5G phone that brings an impressive feature set. The specs you’re getting are straightforward and simplified for the mainstream. Plus, you’re getting robust performance, 5G connectivity, HDR display, long battery life, and more. But, the phone has an equal share of flaws. If you’re looking for an alternative phone, you can check out the Realme GT Neo 2T, which offers a better display, camera, price range, and some extra features. On the other hand, the availability of Honor X30 Max is not confirmed for other markets, if you want to buy you will have to pay the respective shipping. So instead of choosing this phone, you can look for alternative options but the final decision is in your hands.

The Honor X30 smartphone is a mid-range 5g phone. The phone comes with a good budget and the features and specs are decent in the price range. You get a 120 Hz refresh rate display, high RAM, and internal storage along with support for a powerful processor for gaming. If those are the specs you are interested in, you can definitely choose this phone. However, the phone has lost many valuable features no HDR10+, no gorilla glass protection, no dust or water resistance, and low camera performance certification. Also, you cannot record 4K videos. Although this is not so important for general users. However, there is an alternative to the Honor X30 that you might be interested in on the Realme 8s 5G, so definitely check it out.

While puzzling at first, it’s clear that the X7, X8, and X9 are meant to cater to different markets as part of HONOR’s strategy in its return to the Philippines. The X7 is the most affordable of the three and is made for those who prioritize battery life and are a fan of HONOR’s older phone designs. The X8 is geared towards those who want a slim phone that offers a large display thanks to its razor-thin bezels, while the X9 is made to be an affordable version of the Magic4 Pro flagship by offering a number of high-end features and having a very good camera performance when compared against the competition. Having a good set of features for their price, we do hope that HONOR stays true to its commitment with software upgrades and updates the X7, X8, and X9 to Android 12–or maybe get them upgraded to HONOR’s upcoming MagicOS 7.0 in the near future.

Lastly, anyone who wants a nice-looking, powerful 5G phone for a good gaming experience, can consider the Honor X9 5G smartphone. However, for users who want a good camera phone, Honor X9 & X9 5G can be considered a good option if you are only considering the daylight photos. The hardware and software can be on par with regular mid-range phones, so the overall experience would be great. But given the price, there are a few alternatives from other brands that provide some of the features better than these two. Therefore, the buying decision depends on your requirements. Meanwhile, you can check out options like the Motorola Moto G22 if you are in search of a pure android experience under the same budget. Also, there’s Vivo iQOO Z6 gives an immersive gaming experience.

The bottom line is this. If you’re looking for a budget smartphone between $250 and $350, the HONOR X9 5G nails the fundamentals with a large and high refresh rate display, excellent overall performance, and a long battery life with fast charging. However, the disappointing camera quality, lackluster speaker, and old software make us question whether this is worth choosing over other devices. The Samsung Galaxy A53 costs $350, and although it doesn’t support 66W fast charging, it has a Super AMOLED display, great camera performance, and a similarly excellent battery life. Samsung has also been one of the best OEMs in the past few years when it gets to software updates and support, and it may be a better option. Now, should you spend $100 more for the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G? It depends on your requirements, but if you don’t plan to take many photos, and listening to music isn’t a priority, the HONOR X9 5G will serve you well. It has plenty of power for all of your gaming and multitasking needs, and it will easily last you a full day of charge, or two days, depending on how heavily you use it. The HONOR X9 5G has a beautiful design, 5G, and respectable specifications for the price. It packs an excellent two-day battery, and it also comes with a super-fast 66W fast charger. However, that's just about where all the good things end as it fails to impress with the display, camera, and speaker quality.

Yes, but don’t expect great photos out of it. The Honor X9 ticks a lot of boxes, but photography isn’t one of them. You really need to be prepared to be unhappy with the images produced by the X9, especially if you’re not patient enough to work around the software problems. A lot of budget phone in this price range struggle in this department, though, like the US-only OnePlus Nord N20, so Honor isn’t exactly faring any worse than the competition. The software is another department that Honor just doesn’t nail. The home screen doesn’t feel well-thought-out with its lack of shortcuts and its tendency to throw up a different panel than expected when you hit the home button. Honor’s battery-saving measures are also utterly punishing for anyone who relies on apps running smoothly in the background, and to find out what’s wrong, you first need to know what the culprit is and then check in system settings. It’s also a bummer that it ships with Android 11, even though Android 13 is already around the corner. That said, the Honor X9 has quite some going for it.

The HONOR X9 5G is a fair performer for what you pay for, offering a large display and good battery life blended with modest performance. The provision of a free 66W charger and casing add a modest amount of value to its proposition. Worth a look for those seeking a bargain.

The device maintained a charge for more than 3 full days during the typical usage scenario (TUS), one of the best performances we’ve seen so far. We had the same excellent experience during the on-the-go tests, especially when scrolling on social apps. In calibrated mode, the device showed decent performance across all our use cases as well.

The Honor X8 is a merely adequate affordable phone. It deserves credit for pursuing a slightly different course to some of its £200 rivals, most notably with its super-skinny design and minimal bezels. But neither its performance nor its camera system are any great shakes, and the choice of using a smaller battery in order to hit that slinky form factor means that intensive use brings the X8 short compared to the competition.

In an increasingly competitive mid-range phone space, the Honor X8 is well appointed, serving up solid performance in terms of app multitasking, battery life, display visuals and the camera array. If we were to critique it, it would be to say that it does not do enough to stand out from that aforementioned crowded space, which is something that 5G support could have done. That said, if we are comparing the Honor X8 to some of the similarly specced and priced Huawei devices on the market, the support for Google gives it a distinct edge. Add 5G to the mix for future phones and Honor could start to make some real inroads. Provided 5G is not a element in your buying decision, the Honor X8 is a great looking phone that is well priced and performs as expected. The Honor X8 has debuted in SA at a time when there are more great mid-range phones on the market than ever before. Luckily it is fitted with a solid display, battery and camera, as well as an eye catching design. The only element missing to help it stand out is support for 5G.

The phone offers a decent chipset and battery but the rest other specs seem to add up numbers. The display, camera, and storage could have been better. This smartphone underperforms in most ways and doesn’t offer a good deal in this price segment. Furthermore, the other things like fast charging and software are just average and nothing unique or new in that. Though the overall phone is okay there are a lot of better alternatives available such as the Realme 9 Pro smartphone in the same price range. You can check the Realme 9 Pro, as it comes with a better battery, screen, and 5g support, but the final decision depends on you.

The Honor X7’s global battery score ranks it above average in our entire database. The autonomy was really optimized when testing in factory default settings. Indeed, it showed excellent performance during the typical usage scenario, with low discharge currents, day and night, and excellent autonomy on the go, especially when scrolling on social apps and using GPS navigation. When tested in calibrated mode, the gaming and calling tests showed decent autonomy, but the device struggled when streaming video and music. We noticed that the battery levels 8%, 28%, 48%, 68%, and 88% displayed by the UI lasted only 30 seconds, whatever the use case, even during the charging tests. When the device reached 2%, the device would automatically turn off after 30 seconds.

The Honor X7 smartphone holds decent performance, high refresh rate, and battery capacity. Rest specs like camera, display, sensor, etc. are just average and there is nothing unique about that. Though there are downsides too such as no Full HD resolution support. Considering the price, some of the specs are manageable while some are not. Whether the phone is right for you depends on what you need out of a phone. With this budget, you can’t expect world-class performance. If you are looking for performance and mediocre gaming, then this device can be an option while you can check the alternatives for a better deal. The Poco M3 Pro 5G is also a great alternative and comes with a decent battery, camera, display, and chipset support plus you get 5G, which is in demand these days.

The Honor X40i is a decent phone since it offers a decent design layout, impressive performance, good battery life, and many other things that make this device superb. It will follow up with fast charging support and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Aside from this, the viewing experience does feel underwhelming because of the standard colors. The camera results are good enough to be described as presentable. Though, the phone’s flaws can be overlooked with the budget-friendly price point. Overall, if you are looking for a budget 5G phone from Honor, you should consider this phone. But on the other hand, if you are not a big fan of Honor, you should look at alternatives such as Vivo Y30 5G for well-rounded features.

The Honor X40 smartphone is a complete package of a budget-friendly 5G phone since it offers a compelling display with advanced refresh rate support. The device also renders decent performance with numerous personalization options, ample storage, and a long-lasting battery. Apart from this, the camera aspect is slightly behind the competition, still, it looks like an amazing deal. On the other hand, if this device is not fit your requirements, then you should check out Oppo K10x. It comes under the same price range, while this phone brings astounding camera quality, which is missing in the X40. Anyway, choose the phone that meets your expectations.

Honor X40 GT Racing can be your daily smartphone if you want to experience a little bit of everything. Because the device renders a pretty solid build and offers a faster refresh rate, good enough storage, long-lasting battery life, and fast charging. But when it comes to downsides like average camera results and standard performance, it’s pretty much expected according to the price point. But if you want better photography, consider checking alternative options like the Xiaomi Redmi K60 Ultra which comes with almost similar specs in the same price range. There are three things that you need to consider before you purchase the Honor X40 GT Racing phone. The first one would be the budget, the second one would be your needs, and lastly, your preference. However, the final decision is up to you so choose accordingly.

The Honor X40 GT smartphone is downgraded from its siblings to obtain a powerful chipset under the hood. While it might not have an AMOLED panel, nor does it have exceptional camera results. The phone is basically an average mid-range phone, but if you are looking for a phone, especially for gaming, it might sound like a great deal. Apart from this, the tall aspect display might look good, like the recently released ZTE Axon 30S. But at the same time, there are tons of other options that you can try out. You can check out the Xiaomi Redmi K50i for a complete package of performance, battery life, impressive display, and beautiful camera quality.

The Honor X6 is pretty much like any entry-level phone that got decent battery life and 4G connectivity. But, the camera quality of the main sensor is worth noting and the display usage is not that bad either. If you are looking for a value-for-money phone, the X6 does complete some points in the checklist. It has good decent performance, ample storage, a 3.5 mm jack, good content support, and so on. At the moment this review is being written, the phone is exclusive to the UK and European smartphone markets. But if the phone goes on the worldwide stage, you should consider this device as a budget-friendly option. Meanwhile, you should also check alternatives such as Motorola Moto G (2022) for a smooth stock android experience. Finally, choose the phone according to your desire!

The new Magic5 Lite fixed only some of the Magic4 Lite's shortcomings from last year, with the display being the most significant upgrade. It's a rare flagship-grade OLED in this price range, but it's just not enough to persuade us. Pretty much all of the Magic5 Lite's competitors offer a similar display quality while being better in other areas. Honor's midranger still drags behind the competition in terms of raw performance, launches with outdated Android and judging by its predecessor, an update to Android 13 probably won't arrive this year. It has no stereo speakers, ships without a charger, supports only 40W charging (down from Magic4 Lite's 66W), camera quality is far behind the competition, still can't shoot 4K videos and we've seen more premium builds from the competition. Excellent battery life and a great display are the only things going for the Magic5 Lite and that just isn't enough.

It would be a disservice to say that the HONOR X9a is all about its OLED display, which is in any case a lovely addition to the X series because its camera array and its picture-taking capabilities are of superior quality. The kind of pictures you show your friends and family and get told “Oh yeah, I see what you mean now.” For the recommended price of R11 999, you get a great-looking smartphone, with a great camera. Hardcore gamers might struggle with hardware limitations, but those looking for a solid, everyday smartphone will find one. Our only concern is the circular bezel at the device’s rear, which may make case shopping a bit difficult, and its so-so audio quality. Overall, a really solid offering but we couldn’t help wanting a little bit more for its price. Especially with the local smartphone market saturated with solid, affordable offerings as it is.

After going through each section of the Honor X9a, one thing is clear, you are getting decent camera results and the display quality is quite good to use outdoors. But at the same time, the performance aspect does feel underwhelming to the competition since it didn’t provide a high-tier gaming experience. Anyway, the battery optimization of this phone is pretty superb, so you can expect long-lasting screen time. On top of that, it also supports features like NFC, inbox Charger, and many more things that you can explore. Overall, the phone is an average deal if you are looking for a complete package phone at the same price range. You can choose the Vivo S16 for a better user experience and perks.

In January 2023, the Honor company released a mid-range 5G smartphone known as Honor X9a. The Honor X9a smartphone comes with a massive Li-Po 5100 mAh battery that gives you more than 6+ hours of screen time. As for charging support, you also get a 40W wired fast charging. Besides this, you can choose this phone from three fabulous shade options that include Titanium Silver, Emerald Green, and Midnight Black. At the front, you will obtain a 6.67-inch AMOLED display panel that renders 1B colors, a high 120Hz refresh rate, and an 800 nits brightness rating. As far as the cameras are concerned, you are getting a triple camera setup that includes a 64MP primary camera with a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens. In terms of the selfie, the 16MP selfie camera is present on the front side. As for video recording, the phone can record up to 1080p resolution videos from both cameras. Under the performance end, the Honor X9a delivers exceptional power with the 6nm Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G chipset that renders up to 2×2.2GHz cloaking speed. At the same time, you are getting Android 12 OS with the Magic UI 6.1 user interface. Moving to the internal storage, the Honor X9a smartphone is accompanied by the 128GB to 256GB space that will club alongside 6GB to 8GB RAM support, while there’s no secondary card slot available. As for price point, the Honor X9a smartphone cost around $345 (Rs 28,499 in India) approx.

To conclude, the HONOR X9a 5G’s durable display, amazing design, and 5100 mAh battery make it an undeniably solid phone. However, we strongly believe that the HONOR X9a 5G’s best feature is its price. Retailing for only Php 16,990 for the 8GB and 256GB models, the X9a 5G is simply in a class of its own. While it doesn’t have the best camera quality out there or the best speaker experience, you simply cannot find a better package than what the HONOR X9a 5G has to offer, especially at this price. Personally, if I didn’t love taking photos, I could easily see myself happily daily driving the X9a 5G without any problem.

Yes, as long as your focus isn’t hardcore gaming. The HONOR X9a 5G has all the things a regular user could ask for – an incredibly tough screen, a good primary camera, an excellent design, and long battery life. If your primary focus is gaming, then probably don’t bother – but if your interests lie in the stuff I mentioned, then the HONOR X9a 5G should be the phone you buy as we found in our review of it for the Philippines.

So, with everything considered, I really don’t understand what’s Honor up to with this phone! I really like its design, it’s really good! The curved display on a mid-range phone is also nice to have! It has good battery backup and I can live with its UI too! But compromising on very important aspects like performance, cameras, and stereo speakers doesn’t make me feel like the good old Honor is back. I remember Honor used to offer incredible midrange smartphones back in the day like the Honor Play with an aluminum back, powerful Kirin 970 chip, and a 4K-recording capable camera—all at a pretty reasonable price. So I really wished the company could bring back that legacy instead. But, at the moment, I believe Honor still needs to progress even further, be it in terms of software or hardware, to match up with its fellow brands. For what Honor is asking for this phone, you should consider the Redmi Note 12 Pro or Pro+, both of which have OIS cameras, a much better processor, and a stereo speaker setup. And if you prefer a smartphone with a curved display, the Realme 10 Pro+ is also a better option.

The HONOR X9a 5G may seem a little lacking at first but when you take into account its affordable price of RM1,499, it’s easy to dismiss a number of its drawbacks. It provides solid value for the money you’re spending so if you’re not looking to spend much on a smartphone, this will definitely serve you well. You just have to get used to Magic UI if you’re not familiar with it, or opt for a different launcher.

The Honor X9a’s outstanding global battery score earned it a place in the top 5 of our database to date. Even though the device’s charging time was slightly longer than average, the Honor X9a offered excellent overall autonomy and efficiency, bringing 3 full days of battery life in moderate use. Excellent autonomy was particularly measured in individual usages such as gaming, calling, video and music streaming, but also for all on-the-go usages. This was confirmed by our discharge efficiency measurements, with the Honor X9a draining very low discharge currents overall, a sign of well-optimized software. The drawback to the device’s performance was that the battery gauge was inaccurate. When the screen displayed 20% capacity, the true capacity measured was only 16%. At a displayed 1% capacity, the device shut down automatically. Moreover, battery readings at various stages of the battery gauge (precisely at 12%, 17%, 43%, 50%, 65%, and 83%) only lasted only a few seconds, affecting the user experience. Overall, the Honor X9a displays a strong battery performance, particularly when compared with other devices in the Advanced segment.

The Honor X9a has a number of unique strengths as a midrange phone. You get a high quality OLED display sheathed in toughened glass, 5G connectivity along with excellent battery life and fair performance for general use. Unfortunately the phone lacks water resistance and has middling camera performance. On the bright side, the phone does offer quite a bit of value with the array of goodies they’ve bundled in the box that include a casing, charger and wired earbuds too. At the time of writing, Honor Malaysia hasn’t furnished the exact price of the Honor X9a but it should be under RM1,500 and slightly north of its predecessors RM1,199 price tag. If the Honor X9a’s official price between these two extremes, it makes for relatively fair value. Once Honor has announced the official price of the Honor X9a in Malaysia, we’ll update our review accordingly with a final score. An extremely sturdy midrange phone with a toughened OLED display, excellent battery life, a slew of generous extras bundled with it and decent performance to boot, making it ideal for general users.

在一部售价低于200欧元(约218美元)的手机中配备一个广角摄像头并不是理所当然的事。Honor X7a有一个,但由于其缓慢的处理器,它可能也有一些缺点。我们在测试中仔细看看。

All things considered, the Honor X7a isn’t a phone you would probably choose if you had the budget to buy something more powerful. But if you are looking for the first smartphone for your kid or something to use for business, then you can’t go wrong with this one. It’s very affordable at the price of PHP 7,990, and it has everything you might need in a phone. Hardware-wise, you could say there are more powerful options out there, and that’s true. However, if you just need another phone to answer calls, text, and maybe do some very light gaming, then why not consider the Honor X7a. You do get a very large battery with it too along with a decent camera.

The Honor X7a is a great phone with robust features and specs. However, there are numerous drawbacks to purchasing this phone. For instance, the display quality is not appropriate if you want to stream FHD resolution, heating issues can be seen in a long gaming session, and mediocre camera quality. But even after that, the battery life can be considered the only plus point of this phone. We will recommend this phone if you are getting any additional deals. But for now, we suggest you should go with the choice. For example, the Xiaomi Redmi 11 Prime 5G comes out with decent options that will allow users to use 5G connectivity and support impressive display quality. Finally, make the decision that fits your budget and needs.

That’s it for my review of the Honor X7a. While the phone has an impressive battery life and a nice design, it simply does not offer much else. So, all things considered, I believe Honor could have done a much better job with the X7a. So this isn’t the best you can get for the money. You can find much better options like the Poco M5, Moto G31, or Redmi Note 11 from last year. Honor X7a has an appealing design and a long-lasting battery. However, its mediocre processor selection, average cameras, and sluggish UI experience keep it unnoticed in the competition. Smartphones like the Poco M5 and Moto G31 offer much better value for a similar price.

The Honor X7a starts the year off by achieving the No. 1 spot in our battery ranking, thanks to its outstanding autonomy performance, which measured 3 days and 14 hours in moderate usage — the best we have tested so far. The Honor X7a’s overall battery performance overtook the Oppo Reno 6 5G, which stayed at the top of the global battery ranking since September thanks to its overall balanced performance. The X7a’s 6000 mAh battery tested the limits of autonomy and surpassed that of the previous autonomy powerhouse, the Vivo Y72 5G, which managed to bring in a slightly lower autonomy with a 5000 mAh battery. Besides a strong performance in a mixed usage scenario, the Honor X7a was also a top performer in some use cases such as gaming, calling, video, and music streaming. And finally, even when on the go and tested outside, the Honor X7a’s ability to manage its power proved to be excellent. When it came to discharge efficiency, the device drained very low discharge currents, which means that it is well-optimized. Despite its staying power, the device’s user experience was undermined by an inaccurate battery gauge. When the phone displayed 20% of power left on the screen, the true capacity was measured at close to 16%. When the device showed 1% of power on its screen, it would shut down automatically after a minute. When charging the device, the small 22.5W power adapter struggled to fill the large 6000 mAh battery. A 5-minute top-up charge provided only 4 hours of autonomy. Moreover, the charge efficiency, as well as the power adapter efficiency, was poor. Still, the Honor X7a’s unprecedented autonomy performance in our tests shows that battery endurance, regardless of battery size, will continue to be a key focus for smartphone manufacturers this year.

This is possibly the best tablet under Rs 15,000 in India, which seems to have almost everything that one can expect from a tablet. For anyone who needs a tablet for personal or professional usage and doesn’t have much of a budget, this is the one tablet that you should consider.

The HONOR brand is growing strongly: its shipments outside China quadrupled in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. Last year in China, HONOR took first place – and this is 18 months after the separation from Huawei. As a reminder, Huawei completely sold and exited the management of Honor. It is worth noting that after leaving Huawei, the Honor brand started producing smartphones with Qualcomm processors and Google services again. Smartphones of the brand were already presented on the Ukrainian market until the summer of 2020. HONOR phones were actively sold during 2018 and 2019: according to the results of 2019, they were among the top five most popular smartphone brands. HONOR has released a great product in the budget segment. Here is good performance, updated and modern design, the best camera. For less than $220, you get a smartphone with a great battery and a bright display that you can play on and get good pictures even in the night city. Plus, it is convenient to use and has a good design.

That’s it for my review of the Honor X8a. This phone has a pretty impressive display as well as an average camera and an eye-catching design. But, all things considered, I don’t think this phone is worth buying in this price range. It could have been a better offering if it had been launched in the 20-22k price range. You can find much better options like the Realme 10, Redmi Note 12 (4G), and Poco X5. The Honor X8a boasts an appealing appearance as well as an acceptable chipset and camera. However, the price point at which it hit the market hinders it from standing out in the competition. Smartphones such as the Redmi Note 12 4G and Realme 10 provide considerably more value for a lower price.

In conclusion, the Honor X8a can be a compelling smartphone in the midrange segment. The weakest point we see is actually with its display as it falls behind some of its competitors. But all things considered, we can recommend this device to people who want a smartphone with a decent main camera, reliable when it comes to its battery and performance without sacrificing a big budget. With a suggested retail price of Php10,990 (for the base model 6GB+128GB), the Honor X8a is a contender in the budget mid-range market. It might not cater to power-users or gamers looking for performance and long battery life but it’s still a well-rounded phone.

The Honor X8a is not that amazing if you compare it to other entry-level phones, especially the southeast Asian market smartphones. You are getting a pretty standard configuration without any improvement in the hardware or software segment. On top of that, the phone only supports 4G connectivity, which might be a big turn-off for many people. We won’t recommend this phone because the company doesn’t improve the basic features, and X8a is not a value-for-money phone. Instead of this, you can check out the Motorola Moto G72, if you are looking for a 4G phone in the first place. On the other hand, you can also look for Realme V30 as an affordable 5G choice.

The price for HONOR X8a starts at P10,990 (base model with 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM). It is available in any HONOR kiosk and partner stores and HONOR’s official online stores on Lazada, Shoppee, and TikTok. With a sub-P15,000 price tag, the HONOR X8a is one of the competitive midrange smartphones today. Its biggest selling features are its 100MP triple camera system, big 4500mAh battery, and sleek design. An AMOLED screen can elevate the experience further, but the current display is good enough for basic use.

Despite being similar to last year’s X8, the 100-megapixel main camera, bigger battery, and use of a Helio G88 processor makes the HONOR X8a a suitable upgrade. Its main camera is the biggest improvement over the X8, as it makes the HONOR X8a competitive in the budget mid-range segment in the Philippines.

All in all, the Honor X6a is a decent offering at the price range with its highs and lows. The battery backup is excellent, the cameras are okay. And, the performance — it’s liveable with. It is good for folks who are looking for a phone with general usage in mind like surfing the internet, snapping some photos, and playing some light games here and there. However, if you wish to get some more performance out of your phone then going with something like Redmi 12 or even the cheaper Redmi 12C is a good idea. Additionally, I am always sceptical about the longevity of budget phones, and this one is no different. Nonetheless, check out our list of best smartphones under NPR 20,000 to find the best deals in a similar price range.

Interestingly, in the Malaysian market, the phone lauched at RM599 for the 6/128GB variant which roughly translated to Rs. 17,000. But for some reason, we get the 4/128GB variant in Nepal for basically the same price. We feel the phone would’ve fared a lot better had the 6/128GB variant was the one that launched in Nepal.

The Honor X5 Plus is truly a balanced smartphone that has just enough specs to provide a good user experience in every way. While you can’t call any of the specs particularly groundbreaking, you can’t expect a lot in this price range anyway. It has a great design, a high refresh-rate display, a decent chipset, a set of good cameras, and a high-capacity battery. What more could you ask for at this price range? The smartphone also lacks 5G connectivity, which we understand can be a dealbreaker for some people. We were honestly surprised by how well-made and balanced this smartphone was. But you know what they say, there’s always another fish in the sea and they are not wrong. The Xiaomi Redmi 13C is one such smartphone but provides better specs in many areas and is available for a similar or slightly higher price tag depending on where you live. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.

So, there are quite a lot of compromises being made here. The device provides the best refresh rate you can get at this price, a quality OS experience, and a good battery life. But all these are overshadowed by the laggy performance, leading the screen to not reach its maximum threshold most of the time, slower charging, and average cameras. A better phone would be the Redmi 12C at a much cheaper price. This substitute provides better performance and a better camera. Charging is similar, though! And, for the best camera in the price range, go for the Samsung A04. However, if you can, I would highly recommend adding an extra 2.5k and gunning it for the Redmi 12 (review) which is better than all of the above and brings a well-rounded package at an affordable price.

Out of the box, the Honor X5 Plus comes with MagicOS 7.1 based on Android 13. MagicOS itself is quite good, but due to the phone’s relatively slow performance, the UI navigation feels sluggish. It lacks the responsiveness you might find in, for example, the Redmi 12C. Nonetheless, MagicOS offers a range of features, including customization. The Yoyo suggestion on the home screen intelligently recommends frequently used apps, which I found helpful. Additionally, you can take a screenshot by tapping the screen twice or capture a partial screenshot by circling with your knuckle. Accessing multi-window by swiping from the edge and pausing works well, and you can change app icons and themes from the settings. One notable missing feature is that when adjusting the volume using the buttons, it only controls one type of volume, primarily media control, which handles music, videos, and games by default.

In my opinion, the Honor X9b is a decent smartphone with promising performance and specification. But, does it stand out from the crowd? I don't think so. If you are looking for a basic smartphone with greater durability in the mid-range segment then you should not think twice. The smartphone offers an attractive design, great battery life, and a compelling display. But, the camera performance could have been improved.

While the mid-range Honor X9b (priced at Rs. 25,999) is still quite practical in terms of battery life, the premium Honor 90 (First Impressions) currently retails at a severely discounted price of Rs. 27,999, making the X9b redundant as it offers much better value overall. But even when compared to the competition, the Honor X9b fails to hold its ground despite its ultra-bounce display technology. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 (Review) (Rs. 24,999 onwards) offers equally impressive performance with battery life, but also a better software experience, and relatively better cameras along with super-fast 100W wired charging. The Poco X6 Pro (Review) (Rs. 25,999 onwards) also has a much better performance for the gaming audience. There's also the Nothing Phone 2A (Review) (Rs. 23,999 onwards), which offers good performance, a standout design and a bloatware-free software experience.

Honor X9b is a well-built, good-looking device that comes with a beautiful, unbreakable display and a huge battery, but it misses out in terms of the software, camera, and performance. If Honor could have packed this smartphone with a Snapdragon 7 Gen series processor like the Honor 90 along with better cameras, then it would have been a well-balanced device for the price. Right now, we would only recommend the Honor X9b to those who do not care much about the performance or the cameras. Otherwise, there are smartphones like the Poco X6 Pro with better performance, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G with better cameras, Moto Edge 40 Neo with better software, and the Nothing Phone (2a) with a balanced feature set, which are all better devices compared to the Honor X9b at a similar price range. Honor X9b is a tough smartphone with a high-resolution display and good battery life.

We recently tested the Honor Magic6 Lite (5800 mAh) battery, whose performance placed it among the top devices in our database. Considering that the Magic6 Lite (5800 mAh) is a renamed version of the Honor X9b for different regions, we put the Honor X9b through a sanity check. We observed considerable improvements compared to the results of our first evaluation run in the fall of 2023. We have therefore updated the test results with the latest scores. Equipped with a robust 5800 mAh battery, the Honor X9b exhibited an impressive battery life of over three days under moderate usage. The device gained more than 3 hours of autonomy over the previous test, lasting 80 hours and 31 minutes without having to recharge.

With its commendable performance, enhanced durability, and impressive battery life, the HONOR X9b emerges as an excellent choice for users seeking a smartphone capable of withstanding rugged usage while delivering a satisfying user experience. Priced at Rs 25,999, it presents a compelling option for customers in the mid-range segment, offering a combination of a quality display and reliable performance. While the device excels at capturing social media-friendly photos and facilitating content creation, individuals prioritising camera-centric features may find better alternatives elsewhere. Nonetheless, for those prioritising durability and overall performance, the HONOR X9b proves to be a solid contender in its price range.

Okay wrapping the Honor X9b review up, I found the Honor X9b to be a solid phone with super solid display protection and build. It ticks almost every box of the 5 pillars I mentioned at the beginning, except for the camera part. Well, I would not term it the worst camera phone in the segment, but it surely needs some optimization in both the photo and video department. Apart from that, the display is super sharp with a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 6 gen 1 is a good performer for the price and the MagicUI is a refined OS, although stuck on Android 13 for now. So, if you are looking for a phone with a really strong display, a good UI, and overall performance but can live with an average camera, the Honor X9b is a no-brainer choice! It is almost a perfect mid-ranger.

Many of the Honor X9b’s shortcomings are put into context by its price tag. At an event in Noida on Thursday, the company launched the phone on Amazon, at a starting price of Rs 25,999. If you have an ICICI bank card, you can get a Rs, 3,000 discount to take the price to Rs 22,999. This places it squarely against the Realme 12 Pro, which costs the same and has the same processor, and the Poco X6 Pro, which costs Rs 1,000 more but comes with what seems like a much better processor. Pitted against its competition, the Honor X9b clearly wins the aesthetics race. The camera island on the back and the muted Midnight Black shade looked tasteful and understated in comparison. At the price point, the question between the Honor X9b, the Poco X6 Pro and the Realme 12 Pro is about what compromises you are willing to make and what you prioritise in a phone. If you want the best processor you can get for the money, for the Dimensity 8300 ultra chipset. If you want a better telephoto lens, you might want to go with the Realme 12 Pro.

While the Honor 90 had a lot going for it in terms of hardware at launch, it makes better sense today after a price cut. This puts the new Honor X9b in an odd space, given its price tag. Also, there's no telling if this smartphone will also receive a massive price cut a few months after launch, which will surely anger early adopters once again. While the rest of the phone seems to check most boxes for a budget device, the competition in the Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000 segment is quite cutthroat, offering good value with the latest processors and camera hardware. Will Honor's Ultra-Bounce tech prove its worthiness in a competitive market segment? Stay tuned for our full review to find out how the Honor X9b performs and whether it offers better value than the competition.

The Honor X9b is comparable to the Hummer in the automotive world. It’s built solid for rough use, lasts long and has the premium looks but it’s not the all-rounder. Similar to the Hummer, it’s not the best in its class in terms of performance or for cameras as you get better options in the same price range.

The Honor X9b is priced at Rs 25,999. People who want a decent-performing device along with solid durability can consider buying it. The design is quite attractive and the aesthetics are great. The 5,800mAh battery won't let the device die soon if your usage is light to moderate. You are also getting a fluid AMOLED display that is quite vibrant and sharp too. The 108-megapixel primary rear camera is also capable of taking attractive shots in daylight. To conclude this review, we have to discuss how big of a hole the HONOR X9b 5G will make in your wallet. Officially available for PHP 16,990 for the 8GB+256GB variant, this makes the HONOR X9b a pretty solid mid-ranger that delivers great durability, battery life and a really nice display for watching videos and playing games. As a successor to the Honor X9a from last year, we expect some significant improvements from the Honor X9b. And rightfully so. Now, you’re getting a better chipset, more RAM, bigger battery and better set of cameras — all at the same retail price as its predecessor and that ultra-tough display we’ve all witnessed. If these features are your priority at a budget less than 17k, then the HONOR X9b 5G is definitely worth considering!

Every new year brings new challenges and opportunities, and if you’re looking for a smartphone to help you ace the tests of everyday life, you can bet on the HONOR X9b 5G. This stylish handset is tough enough to withstand multiple falls that are common as one goes through their tasks, and is guaranteed to run for more than 24 hours on a full charge using the HONOR SuperCharge adapter. Although the camera may need some improvement, particularly on its shutter speed, the smartphone is a good daily driver for its 6.7-inch AMOLED screen and smooth and fast performance. All these and more prove that the HONOR X9b is a clear display of how pro-grade toughness meets slick performance. It’s definitely worth considering, especially with its competitive price of P16,999.

The Honor X9b is truly a unique smartphone that will surely bring some heat back in the mid-range sector. Compelling design, high-resolution display, decent main camera, and high-capacity battery are some of the great highlights of the smartphone. On top of that, the smartphone also features the latest 5G connectivity. We were honestly surprised by how well-made and balanced this smartphone was. The design is also a key factor here and is a great selling point for the smartphone. It gets some great wins in a couple of departments when compared to other smartphones in the mid-range sector, especially at this price. Speaking of downsides, the sensors and SoC could have been better. However, if you want an alternative smartphone, the Xiaomi Civi 3 is also quite the contender and is offered around a similar price tag. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.

So at the end of the day, this phone is for those who consistently drop their phones or worry that it’ll break. Maybe someone clumsy or just wants a secondary phone that’s super rugged while still being affordable – then the HONOR X9b is actually a fantastic choice. The HONOR X9b 5G has plenty to offer with its affordable price of RM1,499. It provides solid value for the money you’re spending and it’s practically built like a tank while still being practical for daily usage. From a practical standpoint, you’d only want to look for something better if you need something that has better CPU / GPU performance or better overall camera system. Otherwise, this would definitely serve you well.

The HONOR X9b has one thing going for it but it’s a big one. As of now, there’s no other smartphone that offers this kind of toughness in the market other than its predecessor, at least not in this form factor. Most resilient phones are bulky and look like something you’re bringing into a mine or a jungle, while this phone just looks like any other regular smartphone in 2023. While it’s obviously not indestructible, it’s more than capable of handling the regular slips and drops of the accident-prone. The icing on the cake is that the X9b comes with a 365-day replacement warranty for the back and front glass, meaning that it gets replaced for free if you manage to crack it within a year. Sure, it has a mediocre camera setup and it won’t get you the best mobile gaming performance, but if neither of those things is a high priority for you and you’re just looking for a reliable and affordable smartphone that’ll last for years to come with little care, then the HONOR X9b gets my approval.

In terms of accessories, Honor has kitted the phone out with the works. You get a free soft TPU casing, a SuperCharge 35W fast charger with USB-C cable, a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle and a 3.5mm pair of headphones to go with it too. This amount of free kit with a phone is becoming vanishingly rare these days, which further adds to the value of the Honor X9b. Oddly enough, they’ve also pre-applied a screen protector on the phone itself which is somewhat amusing seeing how tough the Honor X9b is. Unfortunately we have no indication how much the Honor X9b costs in Malaysia just yet but if it’s around the price of its predecessor the X9a, it’s already set to be a winner. Stay tuned for its upcoming launch this 1st November 2023 where Huawei will reveal the price and where we can share our full review!

The Honor X9b battery showed an outstanding autonomy and efficiency performance, finding itself among the top 10 devices in our database. Equipped with a robust 5800 mAh battery, it delivered over three days of battery life when used moderately. Moreover, the device exhibited excellent battery performance whether used lightly or intensely. Light usage yielded more than four and a half days, and intense usage garnered nearly two days of autonomy. In all the separated test cases, the Honor X9b showed impressive autonomy, especially in video streaming, idle screen-on, and music streaming under both Wi-Fi and 4G conditions. Charging performance was the only area where the Honor X9b performed below average. With the 35W charger, the device took more than 2 hours to arrive at a full charge. Furthermore, when the phone displayed that its battery was 100% charged, in reality only 91.6% of the full charge was drawn from the plug.

Alright, so we already know the HONOR X7b is priced at PHP 8,999 for its only configuration at 8 + 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage. So the question remains, how far did the PHP 9,000 go? –Well the HONOR X7b offers exceptional value for budget-conscious consumers. It gets an impressive battery life, an IPS display with good contrast, and a usable camera system. It stands out as a compelling choice in the entry-level segment. Whether for just the phone essentials, video or music consumption, or casual photography. The HONOR X7b delivers a satisfying experience without breaking the bank.

Given my experience, the X7b from Honor isn’t a bad phone by any means. It has a charming back, clicks decent photos under the sun, and gives me peace of mind in the battery department. Having said that, its value propositions just fall short of the competition at the moment. The Redmi Note 13 (review) from Xiaomi is the X7b’s greatest competitor both in terms of specs and pricing and offers a better overall value in my opinion. Starting off with similarities, you are going to get about the same raw performance on both devices with their Snapdragon chips but Redmi’s 120Hz refresh rate is just going to make everything feel smoother. And since it’s AMOLED, the display contrast, colors, and viewing experience are going to be better on the Note as well. Its stereo speakers also sound a bit more balanced and you are getting a slightly better ultrawide too.

The HONOR X7b is an attractive and reliable daily driver, thanks to its good display, decent performance, and slim build. While its camera and audio systems can be further improved, its powerful 6000mAh battery is one thing you can rely on if you’re only looking for a device to get you through your everyday tasks. This phone is worth considering, especially with its budget-friendly price of P8,999.

The HONOR X7b is a big improvement over previous X7 models thanks to a higher-resolution main camera and an updated display with a modern punch-hole and a Full HD+ resolution. While the processor is not an upgrade, the X7b shines with its excellent battery life, making it one of the longest-lasting budget phones in the Philippines for 2024.

The Honor X7b has some of the most balanced internal components we have ever seen in a smartphone. It is also crafted beautifully that complement what’s there internally. However, the smartphone lacks 5G connectivity, which can be a deal breaker for many users. Honor explains that it was an intentional decision to keep the costs down. But the cost of the Honor X7b is not that cheap either. At that cost, there are other smartphones in the market that more or less provide a similar design and specs while also providing 5G. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 is an exceptional example of this. It not only provides 5G but also provides far better specs for around the same price tag or even lower. However, the global availability of Redmi Note 13 can be a bit problematic as the smartphone often goes out of stock, which is not the case with the Honor X7b. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your needs and requirements.

The Honor X7b demonstrated an outstanding battery experience in our tests, reaching a global score of 151. It outperformed its predecessor, the Honor X7a, with improved autonomy and charging performances. The Honor X7b is equipped with a high-capacity battery of 6000 mAh, which lasted almost four days (95 hours) when used moderately. The device was well-optimized for each use case thanks to its very low discharging current. Its impressive endurance in each individually tested case earned the device the top spot in autonomy in our database. For example, in the home/office autonomy test, the Honor X7b’s battery lasted for five days, the longest we have recorded so far. The Honor X7b’s 35W charger is relatively modest for a 6000 mAh battery. It took the device more than 2 hours and 30 minutes to fully replenish the battery, placing it in the bottom half of our database.

Overall, it's a very decent device for your daily needs. However, for a device in this price range, we feel some phones could perform better and provide you with more value. For example, the Infinix GT 10 Pro (RM1049) might cost slightly more compared to the HONOR X7b (RM799), but it gives you better performance and overall user experience. Another solid alternative is the iQOO Z7x 5G (RM929). If you are looking for a smartphone with excellent battery life, solid fast charging tech, and decent performance, the X7b model should be on top of your wish list.

The HONOR X8b, while a midrange device, boasts an aesthetically pleasing design enhanced by features like the Magic Capsule, a great AMOLED display, and a decent camera system—proving that sophistication and quality aren’t always tied to a hefty price tag.

Now to conclude this review, to be fair, the HONOR x8b is a decent contender on the mid-range segment of smartphones, given a consumer really knows what they want and need. If you are one of those people who are seeking a smartphone that can provide good performance– even though its a bit dated kind of chipset, average battery life, and a good display within a midrange budget, this can be a good choice. But if you are looking for a smartphone with a great set of cameras, skip the HONOR x8b or you might get a little underwhelmed. For pricing, the Honor X8b is priced at PHP 12,999 and if you sign up for pre-order, you will get a free HONOR Choice X5 earbuds worth PHP 1,590. Hurry because this pre-order promo is only until February 23, 2024.

The Honor X8b possesses a unique set of specs and features that make it stand out among other smartphones in the same price range. The pros of the smartphone include its superior display, attractive design, cameras, and battery. However, there are a few cons as well, such as the lack of 5G connectivity and a good secondary camera. The lack of 5G is also a dealbreaker for many, especially in 2024. Its chipset could have also been better. The Honor X8b’s chipset has more than decent performance for sure, but there are other smartphones in the market that have better chipsets in the same price range. If you want a good-looking smartphone where you can watch a lot of movies or TV series or do some social media activities, then this smartphone is for you. That’s because it has a great display and a fantastic battery backup, which will surely help in those cases. But if you are a gamer, then you need 5G connectivity for lower latency and need better chipset. In this case, other smartphones could be better in this regard.

Overall, the HONOR X8b is a pretty decent phone for RM1000. The sleek plain leather back cover design is indeed one of the highlights and is usually only available on flagships. While granted its tech specs are just mid-range, that's what you're supposed to get in this price range. At least the display features are pretty good for video streaming, and the camera does a decent job. It's also enough to do your normal social media stuff. The HONOR X8b is in the same price range as the OPPO A79 (RM1199) and realme 10 (RM899). While the former has a 5000mAh battery with a faster 67W fast charging, the latter is equipped with a Helio G99 chipset and the same 90Hz Super AMOLED display. Each phone has its unique operating system, so we guess it's up to you which one you prefer.

Honor X50 Pro is embedded with the average mid-ranger specs that will give a mediocre experience. Although, there’s no denying that the phone will bring decent performance and battery life with good display quality. Apart from these factors, the phone severely lacks when it comes to camera quality. Although, you can capture immersive photos and videos by using the latest matrix AI vision camera. But still, the software interface doesn’t bring that many customization features. Yet, the users can adjust the interface layout. On the other hand, 5G connectivity gives a better speed when you want to stream content or games. Now, if you prefer camera quality as much as performance, then you should consider getting a Google Pixel 7A. It will provide a stable Android update with improved camera quality for both photos and videos. But at the same time, if you are interested in a complete package of camera and performance, the Xiaomi Civi 3 would be a fabulous choice.

The Honor X50 GT smartphone is undoubtedly a great mid-ranger phone that offers almost everything according to the price point. But at the same time, there’s no denying that the phone has an average camera setup, without any gorilla glass protection and wireless charging support. Those factors can’t be overlooked, especially when you are looking for an overall good deal. Yet, if you are interested in gaming and performance, then the Honor X50 GT smartphone would be worth purchasing. On the other hand, you can move to alternative options for better specs and features. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy A25 would be a fabulous choice. It provides good design, reliable performance, and stable Android updates. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.

Priced at PHP6,999, the HONOR X6b offers decent gaming performance for casual and competitive titles like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty Mobile. However, when it comes to heavier, more graphically demanding games like Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, the device struggles to provide an acceptable experience.. Despite its limitations, the HONOR X6b’s price and durability make it a solid choice for budget-conscious users. While it may not excel at gaming in the budget category, it holds its own for lighter tasks and games.

For a smartphone priced at PHP8,999, the HONOR X7c offers decent gaming performance for casual players. While it’s not a powerhouse, it handles light to moderate games well. Plus, the sturdy build quality adds value. For those interested in heavier titles, however, it may be worth investing in a higher-priced model for an improved experience.

The Honor X7c is an interesting offering in the sub-25k bracket with a spotlight on durability and splash resistance. It’s got superb battery life, a good-looking design, and surprisingly appealing selfies. Moreover, the software is clean and light and the Snapdragon is a reliable everyday performer. Even bits and pieces like stereo speakers, and 35W fast charging are good offerings for the price. But ultimately the 720p LCD screen lets the X7c down. Despite its high refresh rate, the low res screen is just subpar compared to most competition. So relative to the Honor X7c, something like the Redmi Note 13 (review) or the upcoming Note 14, Realme’s 12X, are better overall options for the price.

I recommend taking care of your devices since they can still break. It is quite a bummer since it only comes with an HD+ display. It’s not a bad thing, though. It’s just that most consumers are used to having a high-resolution smartphone.

The HONOR X7c is a budget-friendly smartphone that surely offers a unique blend of durability and decent performance, priced at just PHP 8,999. Its IP64 rating and rugged design make it a reliable choice for those who are often outdoors and may encounter sudden downpours. While the X7c might not be a powerhouse in terms of raw processing and camera performance, it delivers a solid user experience, thanks to its clean software and long-lasting battery life. One major downside for me is its display, especially considering that other brands have already released budget phones with Full HD+ and even AMOLED screens. But for the most part, the HONOR X7c is definitely a step up from the usual budget offerings out there in the sub-10K peso price range.

Beyond getting better durability with its IP64 rating, the HONOR X7c proves to be a budget phone that can last you (almost) forever with a stellar battery life that’s arguably one of the best we’ve seen on an under Php 10k device this year. The lower display resolution and the omission of the ultra-wide camera might turn off some, but we’re glad to see the main camera get improved post-processing performance.

n some aspects, the Honor X9c may not feel significantly better than a mid-range smartphone from 2023 or 1H 2024. But it has enough upgrades to really make its RM1499 price tag worthwhile. Not only does it offer plenty of features, but it also has incredible battery life, lots of RAM, and access to AI features. All of that is packed into a slimmer body that looks pretty good. Overall, it's a decent option if you need a mid-range phone that can do lots of things and deliver at least decent performance. Not what you're looking for? Then maybe consider the realme 13+ (RM1399), which has a smaller 5000mAh battery but sports a notably more powerful Dimensity 7300 chipset for games and a 50MP camera with a newer sensor. There's also the vivo V30e (RM1399), which looks like a flagship phone design-wise and delivers better camera performance.

The Honor X9c is a fantastic 5G smartphone from Honor. It has delivered a great experience in many aspects. The design is quite good and looks quite eye-catching. The body of the phone is also more resistant to scratches and shatter. It even has protection against dust and water splashes. The display is absolutely fantastic and is the best part of the smartphone. It can get extremely bright and provides a vivid viewing experience, thanks to the curved nature of the screen. The chipset is also quite decent with great gaming performance. The battery life and charging speed are also quite good. Even the main rear and selfie cameras are quite good.

The HONOR X9c has plenty to offer with its affordable price of RM1,499. It provides solid value for the money you’re spending and it’s practically built like a tank, even more so than before, while still being practical for daily usage. From a practical standpoint, you’d only want to look for something better if you need something that has better CPU / GPU performance or better overall camera system. Otherwise, this would definitely serve you well.

The Honor X9c is a smartphone that's marketed as being “ultra tough”. In fact, the company is so confident of its durability that it has included a 365-day screen protection coverage. That aside, the Honor X9c is essentially a solid mid-range Android device with great battery life, making it a pretty good choice for a sub-S$500 smartphone. On the front, the Honor X9c has a screen with curved edges. This OLED display has a resolution of 2,700 x 1,224 pixels, with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. This is all within expectations for a mid-range smartphone, and I was completely satisfied using it both indoors and in bright daylight.

The Honor X9c is an impressively durable midrange phone with an array of welcome improvements over its predecessor including a brighter display, bigger battery and OIS for the rear camera while enjoying enhanced durability that can shrug off two metre drops. Those who already own its predecessor may have to mull it over as the X9c uses the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset but this is still more than sufficient for day to day use. In any case, this is the perfect phone for the butter fingered and those who prize durability.

When it comes to tough phones, Honor puts their money where their mouth is with their midrange X9 series which are toughened to absurd degrees of durability that enable them to shrug off drops and even be used as hammers to drive nails into wood. Their latest addition to the line-up, the Honor X9c 5G is a refreshed, upgunned successor to last year’s popular X9b and has a smattering of hardware updates and notably enhanced resistance to damage. Ahead of its official launch, we got our hands on a sample for field testing – here’s our Honor X9c unboxing and first look
