华丽转身。 从微软分离开后,诺基亚发布了一些新手机。凭借5.2英寸的中端机型诺基亚5,该制造商迅速得分。因为很多用户喜欢这些产品,只有少数不喜欢。

We’ve long been lovers of the Moto G series for the top pick in the budget Android category, but the Nokia 5 knocks it off the top spot. With a better camera, better performance and a stunning design, we are blown away by the low price tag offered here.

Overall I would say the Nokia 5 has its flaws, but on the whole it could be a whole lot worse. As a first time user will it be sufficient. However for someone who may be looking for something with more raw power and performance then it might be worth looking at what other device might be available for under $400-$500 market range.

Priced at 12,499 INR, the Nokia 5 can be recommended to the basic users, simply because of the limited RAM and storage. At the same time, its premium build quality and iconic branding will certainly appeal to many buyers. So if you don’t play high-end games on your smartphone or indulge in heavy multitasking and want a Nokia Smartphone, you can consider Nokia 5 as an option.

To help meet its price target, Nokia has prioritised hardware design and robustness over processor speed and storage space, and also opted for a simple camera setup and a moderate-resolution screen. The inclusion of a fingerprint scanner is welcome the face of such compromises.

I always find it tricky to review budget devices like this. When you spend this little – €189 to be exact – you know that you’re not likely to get the very best design, specs, and camera. Instead you need to choose which of these things matters most to you and where you want the limited budget to go. The Nokia 5 is for those people to whom looks matter more than specs and performance. If you want a phone that will serve as a bit more of a fashion statement and look good when you use it, then this might be a solid choice.

It's the best-looking phone at its price point, but isn't as sharp in use as its rivals. Battery life struggles when pushed, and load times can be lengthy.

All things considered, the Nokia 5 is a pretty smartphone that comes with a clean and up-to-date software, but ultimately disappoints in terms of performance. Some people will undoubtedly find it – as well as its €190 ($222) price tag – appealing, but it certainly isn't the best budget phone on the market.

The Nokia 5 certainly gives a good first impression, with its shiny metal unibody, nostalgic design and low asking price. Boot it up and you’re presented with a clean version of Android Nougat, along with expandable storage for filling the phone with your apps and media collection. You even get full fingerprint security and NFC support for contactless payments.

Overall, this is a highly attractive phone. Though it can’t match the super-fast processors or dual-lens cameras of flagship phones, it looks fantastic and performs better than the price point suggests. With more phones to come, HMD has planted a flag in the sand to indicate that Nokia phones, including this one, are likely to be capable, powerful and great-looking.

Nokia 5 is an upgraded version of Nokia 3 and it has fingerprint scanner in it which is a plus point. It has given us positive results in every section and the features are quiet impressive. Some makers have a dozen of series of smartphones, a handful of models in each - the new Nokia has just three models, with a 4th one allegedly on the way. But even with these three currently in existence, the reborn Finnish brand covers the low-to-mid tier quite efficiently.

We’re impressed by the Nokia 5, particularly when considering the price tag. It’s good-looking with decent specs and we love addition of Android without overcomplicating it with any sort of overlay. We expect the Nokia 5 could become a really popular choice for anyone in the market for a mid-range phone, and a strong contender for the Moto G5.

Nokia's strategy is to offer a selection of affordable Android smartphones, carrying that Nokia name and giving you a no compromise design and build. That's been achieved and although we don't think that the Nokia 5 is as good looking as the Nokia 6, there's no denying that it feels solid - it's an impressive phone for the asking price.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus not only performs better than the Nokia 5.1 but also better than the Nokia 6.1, despite what Nokia’s number system may have led you to believe. In-house competition or just confusing numbers?

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is a great phone. It’s so great in fact, that it far overshadows the Nokia 5.1 I reviewed a few months ago.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus stand out of this crowd with its glass design and clean user interface. The phone is able to handle most of the daily tasks quite effectively and battery backup is decent enough to last one day of mixed usage. The camera is a mixed bag and the display is great.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is priced at Php 12,990, and every purchase comes with a gamepad. To be frank, the Nokia 5.1 Plus is quite pricey for its specs but we will be reserving our judgment until it has passed through our series of tests.

It’s safe to say that the Nokia 5.1 Plus is a good option at Rs. 10,999. We understand that many phones in this segment now sport higher resolution displays, but honestly, we never found the HD+ display on this phone to be an issue. The hybrid dual-SIM slot might bother some, especially if you would like to use two SIMs and a microSD card. Low-light video performance was below average too, and light metering could have been better in daylight shots.

Overall, we think the Nokia 5.1 Plus will really appeal to someone looking for a phone with a good design, performance or stock Android experience. However, if a good quality display or long battery life are your criteria, then this isn't the right phone for you.

That said, if I keep the competition aside, it’s an excellent Nokia phone at this price range. HMD has finally managed to deliver a phone which does well from most of the aspects at this price range. It packs in a design you will love, a display which is crisp, a battery which lasts easily for the day, games perform well, and it will keep getting the latest update. You can check more details in our FAQ.

For a price at Rs 10,999, Nokia 5.1 Plus does stand out in the budget segment, courtesy of its classy design and clean software experience. The glass design with a neat back panel will surely grab the user’s attention. Besides the Nokia 5.1 Plus is the first smartphone in the budget segment in India to offer a USB Type-C port.

HMD hit all the right notes with the Nokia 6.1 Plus by offering an attractive design, a great performance and stock Android One software at Rs 15,999. The company has managed to replicate that with the Nokia 5.1 Plus as well, and that too at a far lower price point, which is great to see. The phone offers a similarly exquisite, compact design with an optimised notched display. The Helio P60 chipset is a great alternative to Snapdragon at this price and offers a consistently smooth experience alongside an optimised Android One software. A good day-long battery life is the icing on the cake. The Nokia 5.1 Plus is definitely one to go for if you’re on a budget.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus look good and run a stock build of Android with the promise of timely updates. The Nokia 6.1 Plus has been priced at Rs. 15,999 and will go on sale on August 30 via Flipkart and Nokia's online store. The sleek and compact smartphone has been priced aggressively and looks set to give the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro (Review) and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 (Review) a run for their money. HMD Global is yet to announce the price of the Nokia 5.1 Plus in India. The smartphone will go on sale by the end of September and will face tough competition from the likes of the Realme 1 (Review) and the lower variants of the ZenFone Max Pro M1.

With the Nokia 5, the Finnish manufacturer addresses less demanding smartphone users. As per usual, Nokia's design is subtle and elegant. The specifications are rather modest, which is why at 200 Euros (~$228), it is not exactly cheap.

Finally, if you’re desperate for a dual camera then the Sony Xperia L3 costs about £40 to £50 more, sports a hardy Gorilla Glass screen and, despite packing a cheaper-feeling design, delivers a more premium experience and better battery life. Ultimately, for the money, the Nokia 5.1 remains a good buy for those who want the best design and screen at the lowest possible price, alongside a competent – albeit laggy – camera. That said, we’d only really recommend it those whose smartphone use is light; those who don’t require silky-smooth interaction, nor have a need to install big apps or games, or charging their device nightly.

To look at, the Nokia 5.1 is a sleek, upper mid-range smartphone. It’s got a premium metal body, biometric security and an 18:9 screen that’s as sharp as many flagships. Dive inside, and the budget internals explain its aggressive pricing. But if you can live with little storage and want the best-looking phone for the price, the Nokia 5.1 fits the bill.

It really comes down to what you're willing to sacrifice for the R3 599 price tag for the Nokia 5.1. If the underwhelming processor and odd microUSB port are not deal breakers for you, then the Nokia 5.1 is yet another solid device made by HMD Global.

With a decent camera configuration and a fairly attractive chassis (in spite of its bland colour), the Nokia 5.3 represents a surprising package, especially considering its £130 price tag. Of course, compromises are to be expected when you compare it to mid-tier devices, especially in terms of battery life, hardware and in the display quality. Admittedly, these do add up to the detriment of the overall user experience.

The Nokia 5.3 is a good phone if you prefer ease of use to everything else. Otherwise, there is no parameter on which the phone outshines its peers. Its screen looks pixelated, the cameras are mediocre and the performance is good only if you stick to basic functions. The phone has some cleverly implemented features, such as the notification light in the power button and a multi-purpose capacitive fingerprint sensor on the back, but they do not lift the user experience much.

Also, courtesy its clean UI, the smartphone even stands apart in the crowd.

Nokia 5.3 is a smartphone that you should totally avoid if you are looking for a value for money smartphone right now. The HD+ display is just terrible and In addition to this, it is offering you specifications that are more than one year old. Smartphones like Poco M2, Realme 7, Redmi Note 9 Pro are much better options in this price range and they offer you way better specs than the Nokia 5.3.

At R4 999 the Nokia 5.3 is an ably equipped smartphone. Unlike previous Nokia devices though, it cannot deliver the same value for money we once expected from this manufacturer, especially as cheaper and more feature-rich devices begin to enter the market.

The design and the daylight camera output is what the Nokia 5.3 gets right, and the battery lasts a day. The software too is a good differentiator, provided you can bear with sluggish performance. Where it falters is in gaming, low-light photography and overall performance. All things said and done, you can give this one a skip.

Starting at Rs 13,999, Nokia 5.3 is unlikely to impress those looking for some specific features. Its camera is mediocre, the display is large but lacks sharpness, and it ships with a 10W charger (Hello, it’s 2020). That said, Nokia 5.3 isn’t a disappointing phone. The build quality is excellent, the phone’s performance snappy, and the promise of regular software updates is a perk. The problem is there are better phones out there in the market.

The Nokia 5.3 is aimed at the sub-Rs. 15,000 price segment, with the main attraction being stock Android and the promise of software updates. This device should stay up to date longer than the competition, so it will suit the needs of people who don't wish to change their phone very often. However, it isn't the strongest performer right now, and will fall further behind as other companies launch newer models.

The Nokia 5.3 is a lackluster option from HMD Global. The design is uninspired and the spec-sheet uncompetitive. The quad-camera setup doesn't inspire much confidence either. The only thing going for the phone is the stock-Android build and a promise of two years of updates, but that might not be enough anymore.

The Nokia 5.3 features a solid display, all-day battery life, and excellent performance for $200. For $230, we also like the Moto G Power, which offers even longer battery life and slightly faster performance. On the flip side, the Nokia 5.3 has NFC and is guaranteed to get timely OS and security updates for two years, so it really comes down to which features matter most to you, and both phones earn our Editors' Choice. Shutterbugs, meanwhile, might want to stretch their budget and reach for the $349 Google Pixel 4a.

Nokia smartphones have a different audience that still confides in the brand. They have never been about specifications and all about the Android experience. It is reasonable that your phone should be able to handle everything that you want from it, irrespective of that chatter around numbers and specifications. Nokia 5.3 is not any different from previous-generation smartphones but is somewhat better.

If you don't have a huge budget to spend on a phone, the Nokia 5.3 will tick most of the boxes for you. It delivers a clean software experience that'll always be up to date, and a big screen. However, it's a bit slow to respond at times - but that's the play-off for the lower asking price.

With Android One and a dedicated Google Assistant button, the Nokia 5.4 tries to separate itself from the rest of the competition in the mid-range space. However, users, who were hoping to see a significant improvement over the Nokia 5.3, will be left bitterly disappointed…

Since the brand was taken over by HMD Global, Nokia has had its hands full. In fact, in order to stand out, the brand has been releasing smartphones with a focus on providing end users with a clean, stock Android experience. However, the market for budget smartphones has evolved over time, and Nokia has had to work double-time to stay ahead of the competition. On that note, Nokia recently released the Nokia 5.4 in India for Rs 13,999, and in this review, we’ll see if the smartphone is worth your money.

The Nokia 5.4 performs well, is durable, and has notably good audio for a budget phone, but the lackluster cameras, average battery life, and lack of 5G are hard to swallow at $250. Our Editors’ Choice, the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G, may cost a little more than the 5.4, but that extra $30 buys a bright and vivid display, better cameras, a battery that will definitely get you through the day, and 5G future-proofed with C-band compatibility. If you really need to stay under the $250 mark, the capable OnePlus Nord N200 5G ($239.99) is another 5G phone that's well worth considering for its large 90Hz display, speedy connectivity, and long-lived battery. If you’re not ready to jump on the 5G bandwagon just yet, the OnePlus Nord N100 is a better-value 4G phone. It offers similar performance, sports an incredible 90Hz display, and costs $70 less than the 5.4. With such excellent budget phones on the market, HMD's Nokia line is going to have to try much harder to stay competitive.

OK, but the display was never going to get better on its own (my mind was just in a hurry to suppress that memory as fast as it could). What about places where the Nokia 5.4 at least had the potential for growth? Software updates? Well, at least the phone finally just got its June update, but for several months there we were stuck on March security patches. More than that, we're still on Android 10. But now we're actually starting to see discounts bring the handset down to the $200 level (and even below) — and down here the phone's beginning to feel a little tempting. Nokia itself has the 5.4 for a cool $200, and better deals are popping up all the time — just a few weeks ago, B&H dropped its price down to $180. While I still have my issues here, that kind of pricing is finally starting to make the Nokia 5.4 worth considering.

t’s no surprise that my closing thoughts aren’t exactly positive. The Nokia 5.4 is a decent enough budget phone, but it doesn’t really do anything especially interesting, and the Redmi Note 9T is simply better value according to every single metric. The Nokia 5.4’s price is low enough that a lot of these issues can be excused slightly, but if there’s a much better phone for the same amount of money, you ought to be buying that one instead. You might want to give the Nokia 5.4 a miss.

Priced at £130, the Nokia 5.3 was a bargain bucket device that punched well above its weight and made a lasting impression as a result. Standards have since risen across the board though, and we can see phones around the £250 mark offering more robust hardware and 5G support. This means, sadly, that while the Nokia 5.4 has made meaningful strides upon its predecessor, it’s taken a step back compared to the rest of the industry. Its display and camera offer only marginal improvements, while performance and battery life are weaker than last year’s model. We should stress, the Nokia 5.4 is among the best you can get at this price, and you can hardly do better for £150. The price gap between this and the next best thing, however, isn’t as wide as it once was. Push your budget that little bit further, and you suddenly open yourself up to a significant hardware upgrade, with 5G connectivity the cherry on top.

This phone is utterly not for someone who prefers compact, pocket-friendly devices, prioritizes media playback, and wants a really flexible camera package. Like a distressing number of other affordably-priced phones, it feels like the Nokia 5.4 was built around the idea of a physically large screen, all other considerations be damned. If your interests in a phone are also sufficiently myopic, the Nokia 5.4 might be a good fit. The battery life is nice, SIM and expansion options are good to see, and the software won't make you angry. For $250, maybe that's not a bad package.

With excellent battery life, a stock Android experience with great software support thanks to Android One, capable cameras, and a bright if slightly lo-res display, the Nokia 5.4 is worth it, especially if you can pick it up during a sale in the US market where it regularly drops to $199. Competing handsets from Realme and Xiaomi muddy the waters somewhat in the UK market, but neither offer the same support in terms of updates or security patches.

Overall the 5.4 is a good mid-range phone. It takes decent pictures, has a reasonable amount of storage space, has a great screen, and a pleasing aesthetic. The phone is easy to set up, use and fits comfortably in hand.

The Nokia 5.4 provides an all-round competent budget phone experience, and we’ll always appreciate Nokia’s pure approach to Android. But that no longer feels like enough in today’s competitive budget market, where one or two stand-out features aren’t uncommon. This is a phone that completely underwhelms with its drab screen and sluggish performance, while an improved camera can still only manage acceptable wide shots in good lighting. It isn’t a bad phone by any means, but the Nokia 5.4 simply fails to shine with any of the basics.

It’s no surprise that my closing thoughts aren’t exactly positive.

The Nokia 5.4, overall, is a bit of a swing and a miss compared to its predecessor, let alone the budget market, with the likes of the Realme 7 and Xiaomi Redmi 9 offering a similar level performance with much better displays and, arguably, a better overall look and feel too.

The Nokia 5.4 is a good competitor in its segment. Even though it falls short on some aspects such as the display, it still performs nicely for a phone at this price.

The Nokia 5.4 is the brand’s latest budget contender. Though it has a sturdy, attractive design, its poor cameras, inconsistent performance, underwhelming screen, and lack of personality mean it is poor value compared to its closest rivals at the price point.

The Nokia 5.4 would have been a good smartphone in the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment. At Rs 13,999 for the base model, the Nokia 5.4 is not just expensive but lacks the zing due to its mediocre cameras and sub-par performance. Consider the Nokia 5.4 for its striking design and clutter-free stock Android user interface. Beyond these, there is not much to like about in the Nokia 5.4.

Coming less than a year after its predecessor, the Nokia 5.4 is a decidedly iterative update to the 5.3. However, it boasts a much-improved camera to go along with a decent display, excellent battery life, and top-notch software and update schedule. If you can't afford phones that cost $300 or more, you can't really do much better than this.

So, does the Nokia 5.4 make for a good buy, given its starting price of Rs 13,999? To answer that, allow me to quickly recap the smartphone’s hits and misses and here, the device offers reasonably good performance, a day’s worth of battery backup and a capable 48MP sensor. Unfortunately, the smartphone still boots Android 10, doesn’t offer a robust chassis and ships with an HD+ screen. What’s more, the device is a let down in the connectivity department too, as it doesn’t support 5G, or 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. Consequently, unless you’re an ardent Nokia fan and want a stock Android phone, I would suggest you look elsewhere. The Nokia 5.4 is a decent smartphone but as things stand, you can get a much better bang for your buck by opting for devices like the POCO M3 (review)… or if you can stretch your budget a little bit, the POCO X3 (review) or the Narzo 30A (review).

Nokia 5.4 no doubt stands tall on what Nokia brand is known for. It has got solid build quality, good battery life and a clutter-free user experience. However, at the starting price of Rs 13,999, the smartphone lacks that something extra. A better processor, better display and camera could have solved Nokia’s problem. It’s something a lot of buyers may not be able to overlook.

The Nokia 5.4 could have been a solid choice in the sub-Rs. 15,000 segment, but the features and performance on offer just aren't competitive enough. The addition of H-Log video capture is unique, but the resolution and framerate restrictions might put a lot of people off. Take this feature away, and the cameras don't really have much else to stand on. Add to this the low-resolution display and the slightly sluggish performance of the 4GB variant, and you end up with a phone that's a little hard to recommend to anyone with a budget limit of Rs. 15,000.

How often do you come across a budget smartphone with stock Android inside the Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 bracket? Chances are, apart from Nokia, these would come from Motorola’s stable. Then again, there are a few customisations, and software updates aren’t Motorola’s forte. This may have been the case a few years ago, but even today, most Chinese smartphone brands go low on price and heavy on bloat. So, it’s nice to have an option for those looking for a very Pixel-like experience at a not so Pixel-like budget.

Nokia 5.4 comes as a good option for Rs 13,999 (the cost of 4GB RAM version, 6GB RAM model costs Rs 15,499). I liked the 720p display and how fast the fingerprint sensor works. The cameras also pleased me with their ability to keep the natural colours of the subject intact. The battery lasted for more than a day. And, yes, its arresting design. But there are a few areas where Nokia 5.4 could have been better.

Nokia 5.4 may impress Nokia fanboys and customers who want to buy a smartphone with stock Android and that too from non-Chinese brands. It will face a tough challenge from Poco M2, which was recently launched.

This is a very interesting feature and not something we'd expect in phones at this price level so I'm curious to see how much of an impact it really makes when creating content. Be sure to check back for the full review of the Nokia 5.4, coming soon, in which I'll be testing the phone's performance, battery life, and cameras in much more detail.
