Superb for the sixth time. OnePlus sticks to its high release rate, releasing the successor of the OnePlus 5T after just 6 months: The OnePlus 6. The Smartphone now has a new SoC, a new glass back, a notch and the cameras are supposed to have been improved as well. In our review, we find out whether or not a quick switch is worth it. Update: OxygenOS 5.1.9 with improved camera quality and other fixes has been released.

With the latest internal hardware and a stunning new design, the OnePlus 8 Pro has it all. You get a 120Hz AMOLED panel, robust cameras, 30W wired and wireless charging, IP68 water resistance, and a clean software without any bloatware with the promise of timely updates. The OnePlus 8 Pro is the obvious choice if you are looking to switch to a flagship.

OnePlus has carved out an excellent reputation for its devices, and it's one that's well warranted. Its phones have historically offered an excellent combination of power and price, giving the big-name competitors a real run for their money. This has never been truer than with the OnePlus 6.

If you want the camera, performance and design of the best flagships on the market without paying the £700-plus pricetag, the OnePlus 6 is the phone you've been waiting for. This was 2018's must-have device, and is still recommended in 2019.

They're similar to the iPhone X and the ones coming in Android P so you swipe up from the bottom of the screen to go home, swipe and hold to open recent apps and swipe from the right-side to go back.

Overall, the OnePlus 6 is a very good flagship phone, unfortunately, it has been here long enough to become the flagship it was originally designed to kill. Priced at RM2799, there are now a lot of phones packing in Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipsets, 128GB of storage and more, including AI features which the OnePlus 6 does not have. This doesn’t mean that the OnePlus 6 is a bad phone though, just not the value king it was supposed to be. If you’re looking for a performance device with 8GB RAM then the OnePlus 6 should definitely be in your consideration list.

Even if some downsides exist here and there, overall the OnePlus 6 is a complete package. It may not shine exceedingly bright in any one area, but it's a well-rounded smartphone that will suit almost anyone very well. Buy one and you're guaranteed a pretty much frustration-free experience. Oh, and you'll still have some cash left over in your pocket for other things if you chose it over one of its much more expensive competitors.

Starting at $529 (or $579 for the 8GB / 128GB model we tested), you get a lot of value, features and performance with the OnePlus 6, so we're handing it an Editor's Choice award. We hear the OnePlus 6T is on the horizon as well. Yes, we'd like more. Bring it.

Of course, for OnePlus to sell it at this price, not every component is from the top drawer. The camera is good, but it’s not going to compete with those on the Huawei P20 Pro or Pixel 2. Also, the battery is just okay and there’s no official IP rating or Qi wireless charging.

Overall, this is a very impressive device. The design is good, the screen fills the body and does anything you’re watching justice. The waterproofing is a miss but for the price that is no surprise and given that you’re getting a 6.3-inch display, dual camera, facial recognition, fingerprint reader, beautiful design and all the RAM you’d ever need for a lot less than £500, you could do a hell of a lot worse.

The OnePlus 6 is priced to sell at $529. This gets you a smartphone with powerful specs and great performance, but costs had to be cut somewhere. The camera won't be getting any awards, but it is a nice shooter for an average consumer. More demanding photographers will have to look elsewhere.

All things considered, the OnePlus 6 still offers good value for a smartphone based on a high-performance processing platform, but it's not as good a deal as it used to be. OnePlus has a lot of fans that I'm sure will be happy with this phone, but I wouldn't be surprised if their gaze starts wandering elsewhere, especially when the more interesting, equally powerful, and more feature-packed Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition finally makes its way to Singapore.

I been using the OnePlus 6 for probably about a month and half its turned into one of my favorite phones of the year. You are getting tremendous value for your dollar with its killer updated hardware and software to accompany it. Of course I’d like to see maybe stereo speakers and a slightly better display but there are phones in a higher price bracket for that. I can easily recommend this phone to folks that are looking for a killer device and not spending so much to reach that. If you are interested in the OnePlus 6 you can check out their site with prices starting at $529.

For all the plaudits it garnered, the OnePlus 5T wasn't quite a hands-down winner. It didn't launch with the latest Android OS, for example, which isn't the case here, as the OnePlus 6 has the very latest Android version on board. However, it still lacks MicroSD storage expansion and an IP rating, with the latter likely to be missed most.

It's easy to dismiss the OnePlus 6 as an insignificant minor upgrade. New chipset - check, notch - check, somewhat improved camera - check. That's about it. The thing is, the OP6 isn't meant to entice those with a 5T in their pockets, or even OP5 owners, much the same way a Galaxy S9 isn't really a compelling upgrade path for Galaxy S8 owners.

As a regular user of the Samsung Galaxy S9+, which shares the exact same form factor and feel in the hand, reviewing the OnePlus 6 was fascinating. The S9+ has superior display, camera, microphones, (stereo) speakers, waterproofing, health sensors, DAC, always on display – a pretty compelling list. But then the OnePlus 6 is exactly £310 cheaper at today’s prices in the UK. That’s a pretty damned big saving if money is short, enough to pick up a good mid-ranger for another family member as well – perhaps even a second-hand 5T for the complete OnePlus family?

Of course, for OnePlus to sell it at this price, not every component is from the top drawer. The camera is good, but it’s not going to compete with those on the Huawei P20 Pro or Pixel 2. Also, the battery is just okay and there’s no official IP rating or Qi wireless charging.

There is no doubting that the OnePlus 6’s cameras are definitely among the best present in the market at its price point. We expect them to get some stiff competition from the Honor 10, but if it is bright colors and good detail that you seek with a simple enough, uncluttered interface and decent speed, the OnePlus 6 is an excellent option. However, thanks to all the great specifications and numbers and flagship killing talk, OnePlus smartphones often find themselves matched against the very best in the business rather those that fall in its price band. And as far as cameras go, we do not think, that phone matches up with the likes of Google Pixel 2, Samsung Galaxy S9, Huawei P20 Pro or the iPhone X/8/8 Plus in terms of detail or color reproduction. But factor in all that hardware goodness surrounding those cameras, the promise of improved performance through updates, and top it off with the price tag of Rs.34,999, and you will find yourself becoming far more forgiving.

OnePlus 6 definitely nearly has all that it takes to compete with other flagships in the market. The keyword here being 'nearly'. As one can still see the Chinese smartphone brand cutting corners in the form of misses like water-resistance build, no wireless charging, same front-facing camera and battery. But on the brighter side you get some of the crucial features such as OIS, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, slow-motion video recording and even the gigabit LTE connectivity support.

The OnePlus 6 is what I would call a no nonsense device. It does everything well and has not wasted time figuring out gimmicks. Frankly, I could not find any major flaws in the device. However, I am not sure glass is such a good idea, even with whatever Corning can offer. I have seen too many cracked phone screens to think this is the best material for a smartphone.

All in all, the OnePlus 6 is an excellent followup to last year’s OnePlus 5 in terms of gaming performance with improvements across the board thanks to its generous specs and excellent heat management. Regardless of your affinity for the notch and a gaming battery saver mode that isn't as well-optimised as it possibly could be, this is one of the better phones for gaming this year.

The OnePlus 6 is a killer phone and would - quite frankly - be a competitive flagship even if it was priced to match its competitors. It's not, and its £469 starting price point make it complete no brainer.

So should you be investing in the OnePlus 6? Starting at Rs 34,999 for the 6 GB/ 64 GB avatar and going up to Rs 44,999 for the 8 GB / 256 GB version (Avenger’s edition), this is easily the most expensive OnePlus device ever. The answer really depends on your existing device. To be brutally honest, the OnePlus 6 is a slight step up from the OnePlus 5T but not a major one in terms of performance – our OnePlus 5T is still purring along smoothly. So if you are not a fan of the notch or the revamped design, you can afford to sit back. However, if you are a person looking for a flagship level device at the most affordable price in town, then the OnePlus 6 is in a zone of its own.

The OnePlus 6, with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, starts at $699 CAD and is only available in Mirror Black. If you have an extra $70 to spare, then I would recommend the $769 model, which comes with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and is available in all three colours.

The OnePlus 6 is a refreshing glass-based design change for the phone series. Not only does the phone pack the latest flagship processor and up to a whopping 8GB of RAM, it still comes with a solid battery life. Most importantly, the OnePlus 6 features a much improved camera that even beats the iPhone X. OxygenOS continues to deliver a super slick performance, with its intuitive navigation gestures taking advantage of the stunning AMOLED screen’s larger real estate. The lack of microSD expansion and wireless charging may annoy some, but the OnePlus 6 delivers the best balance between performance and value.

The OnePlus 6 will surely make a lot of OnePlus fans happy, and it will likely continue to fuel the company’s steady growth. Up front, you’ll notice the OnePlus has no room for traditional Android interface buttons like back, Home and recent apps. Instead, you can either use on-screen buttons, or, in a move taken straight out of Apple’s playbook — as well as Google’s upcoming Android P update — use gestures to navigate between apps.

Yes, unless. Go for some other phone only if you want something very specific. For example, you absolutely want the best camera in a phone and don't care about anything else. Get the Pixel 2. Or if you only DESIRE an iPhone, well go ahead and get the iPhone. Or maybe you want a phone that has stereo speakers. May be HTC U11, or the upcoming U12, is what you will like. Or maybe you are willing to spend good bucks in search of near perfection, in which case you can look at the Galaxy S9 Plus. But these are special cases. If you just want a great phone and don't know why you want it, get the OnePlus 6.

When compared to other phones at its own price level, the camera performance on the OnePlus 6 is not exactly groundbreaking, and battery life could of course have been better. Then there's the Mirror Black option at the Rs. 34,999 price point, which might be seen as a deliberate move to make the higher priced variant seem more tempting. However, even at Rs. 39,999, this is the only option with a Snapdragon 845 right now. The software is both versatile and up-to-date which are both significant if longevity is important to you. This is also a phone you can show off quite proudly. We think that most people, especially OnePlus fans looking for an upgrade, will be quite satisfied with the OnePlus 6.

The OnePlus 6 is built for speed from the ground up. The smartphone has the history of being a flagship killer, but despite the top-of-the-class hardware, the compromises in OnePlus phones have also remained consistent, so much so, that it is now acts as a deterrent to buy this over an expensive flagship. The OnePlus 6 is still just as fast, even more beautiful but has the same flaws as last time.

Now, we have to get this out of the way right now – the OnePlus 6 is not our favourite phone of 2018 so far. That trophy is still clutched tight in the clammy grasp of Huawei’s super-sexy P20 Pro. Overall, the OnePlus 6 is a solid upgrade to the OnePlus 5T in almost all the departments such as display, performance, design and camera. Even though there is a notch, which might not be preferred by everyone, the implementation of it good, and you have option to hide it or enable it for certain apps. The gorgeous glass body compliments the display. However, no phone is perfect. Even though the OnePlus 6 is water-resistant, it doesn’t have IP ratings and the phone misses out wireless charging, even though it has a glass body. It also doesn’t have dual speakers.

A lot of the promises made by OnePlus for this launch sound really good. What we think is a big win here though is that OnePlus has managed to build a phone that looks on trend, fashionable and attractive but without any real compromises in performance or specification. It should keep the tech fans happy while also attracting the regular, average consumers it so wants to buy its phones.

As mentioned before, we are being limited today with what we can share about the phone so even the overall impressions have to be vague. But, from what we observed during our stint with the device is that the OnePlus 6 is most definitely an evolutionary product and a minor evolution at that. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as previous OnePlus devices have been pretty great so any improvement on that, however small, cannot be a bad thing. But it seems now that in an effort to keep prices low and competitive, OnePlus has to hold itself back with every new version. Then there is also the impending arrival of the OnePlus 6T six months from now, which seems all but inevitable at this point, which means the current OnePlus 6 can't have all the toys to play with.

As flagship phones keep getting more expensive, OnePlus sticks to what it does well. The OnePlus 6T's hardware quality, specs, software and performance all matches phones that cost hundreds of dollars more. And the places where it comes up short are merely marginal differences or non-critical features. This phone offers incredible value: a flagship-like experience for a fraction of the cost.

The OnePlus 6T is a better phone than the OnePlus 6, but not by enough I wager to warrant OnePlus 6 owners to consider the upgrade essential. For all other users it's a fast, well-equipped Android phone that sits at the top of the mid-range market. But with the entry-level phone market offering competitive experiences that retail for half the price, and the premium level pulling away rapidly in terms of high-end features, it feels like a very safe play.

If you have a OnePlus 6 there isn't a huge change, but from every other previous model, this is going to feel like a massive leap forward. In 2019, the OnePlus 6T is an old phone which would normally get discontinued now the 7 series is here. That's not the case and those in the US will have to opt for it if the 7 Pro is too expensive. In the UK and elsewhere, it's worth getting the OnePlus 7 which comes in at the same price - in fact, even cheaper since the entry-level 6T is no longer available - but with various upgrades. If you happen to find the 6T somewhere else at a bargain price then it's still an excellent phone with decent design and specs. Just bear in mind that it doesn't have things like waterproofing or a headphone jack.

First, the performance and its speed. It matches or outdoes every other Android device out there in that, although with the newer competitors the difference is barely noticeable. Second, the 6T has a unique mish-mash of features, ranging from some very high-end specs to some that are better described as upper-midrange, and these are all put together in a package that is very affordable by today's standards of flagship smartphone pricing. This would make the phone incredibly attractive once it gets its due price cut upon the release of the OnePlus 7, which by the way will be revealed in less than 2 weeks. Oh, decisions, decisions, decisions.

You won't find a better smartphone for this price. Other companies are making ultra-pricey flagships with an emphasis on artificial intelligence that just can't compete with the iPhones and Galaxies on the market (ahem, LG and HTC). There is now a glut of overpriced smartphones that don't differentiate themselves in any meaningful way.

If you are looking to get 99.5% of a top flagship device for 50% of the price, well the OnePlus 6T is the phone for you. Admittedly, with a full glass design I expected wireless charging to be present, but it is difficult to find any other faults with this phone. It has solid battery life and the cutting edge under display fingerprint reader. But I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I don’t think I will be buying the OnePlus 6T. My reason for this is that there just isn’t enough of an upgrade for me and my use case scenario with my OnePlus 5T. If OnePlus keeps up to their current release schedule, the OnePlus 7 should arrive in Q2 of 2019 and I think I’m going to hold out till then.

OnePlus continues to stand out by offering reliable performance in good-looking packages. The friendly price tags help a lot, too, obviously. But I'd be hesitant to call the 6T a clear improvement on its almost perfect predecessor. While the dewdrop notch is personally my favorite all-screen execution at the moment (more so than the punch-hole alternatives), I don't share the same excitement for this sluggish fingerprint reader. Had this been responsive, I would have been more forgiving on the removal of the headphone jack.

If you’re considering the OnePlus 6, 6T or Honor View 20 over other flagship devices, it’s really a no brainer. The amount of money you’d save over a Pixel 3, Samsung Galaxy S9 or pretty much any other device more than justifies the minor features you’d be giving up. If it were me, I’d go with the OnePlus 6, but the 6T would be a close second.

Even with the omission of the headphone jack, and still utilizing a 1080p display, the OnePlus 6T is arguably one of if not the best smartphone of the year(2018). If you get the most tricked out McLaren model at $699 u still under the bubble of the biggest flagships by at least $200-300 bucks and that’s just those companies base model prices. This brand continues to give the competition a run for its money giving you performance feats where others tend to falter.

Indeed, the OnePlus 6T might not have the advanced camera of the Pixel 3, or a microSD card slot/headphone jack like the Galaxy S9, but it nails it perfectly in other departments. The phone is available in India for 37,999 INR which makes it an affordable flagship smartphone when compared to brands like Samsung, Apple or Google. You can definitely buy this product if you need a flagship smartphone with a good display, great performance and an impressive set of cameras.

The gradual upward trend in OnePlus' pricing makes its phones a little less attractive than they used to be, but the 6T still offers good value. Having said that, if you miss the days when OnePlus phones were less than S$700, the OnePlus 6 in its 8GB/128GB configuration is now available in all colors for just S$699 from OnePlus' official shop on Lazada. Considering how similar the two phones are, this is actually the better buy - at least until the 6T also inevitably comes down in price.

We're hopeful that OnePlus will continue to work on the OnePlus 6 and 6T's camera performance as well, and considering the company's excellent track record with Android updates, this could be a reality sooner than later. Either way you slice it though, you can't go wrong with the OnePlus 6T, if you're looking for a larger format power user Android handset. The OnePlus 6T's beautiful 6.41-inch AMOLED display is what greets you when you power the phone up; from there it's a consistently premium experience throughout and we highly recommend it.

The OnePlus 6T is an awesome device, but I want to make it clear that the $549 price tag doesn't come without compromises. I really love this phone, and if you buy it, you'll probably love it too. Particularly, I love the in-display fingerprint reader. It's one of those things that we've seen in rumors, leaks, and patents for years, and now these things are finally starting to show up in devices.

The rise of devices like the Pocophone F1 and Honor Play may have stolen away from this so-called “Flagship Killers” limelight but we think that there’s definitely more than enough reason to give this device a spot on your list of devices to consider for your next purchase. It’s certainly one of the best devices you can get within its price bracket.

Should you have bought a OnePlus instead of a Galaxy S7 a few years ago? If you cared about getting the most value-focused on the market, yeah. No brainer. Should you spend $30 more than that Galaxy S9 to get the OnePlus 6T? Unless you just really care about the fingerprint scanner here, that’s a tough question, and for most people I’d lean towards no.

The 6T delivers an iterative update, but it does have a few new features on offer. The in-display fingerprint sensor presents a novel new way to unlock the phone, and the waterdrop notch is a welcome change. OxygenOS continues to be one of the best third-party skins around, and when it comes to performance, few phones come close to the OnePlus 6T.

But with a starting price of £499 for the model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and a max price of £579 for the 8GB/256GB handset, the OnePlus 6T is still excellent value for an Android phone with huge performance, a lovely design and a very good camera.

If your budget is around $600, the OnePlus 6T is going to be a great buy. This is the value phone still to this day, and not just because it’s cheaper than the phones it competes with. The OnePlus 6T is legitimately a good phone with impressive hardware, almost all the specs you need, great software and performance, a solid display, and battery life that few can match. It now works on Verizon, is sold at T-Mobile, and has an in-display fingerprint reader, which is super cool.

OnePlus 6T is again a true flagship killer with a great performance, new notch seems impressive. Plus, there’s a nice addition of the in-display fingerprint scanner which sets it apart from the competition. If you are looking for a flagship level smartphone, the OnePlus 6T is clearly a winner in its own. There is no need to upgrade if you already own a OnePlus 6 unless you want the fancy in-display fingerprint scanner, smaller notch, and a bigger battery. If you can live without the 3.5 mm audio jack, go with the OnePlus 6T, note that you won’t get these features on the phone – wireless charging, microSD card support, and the water-resistant IP rating. If you have a lower budget, the ASUS ZenFone 5Z, and the Xiaomi POCO F1 are worth to check out.

Now OnePlus will literally be side-by-side with its rivals in T-Mobile stores. For many people, the 6T will be their introduction to OnePlus, and it definitely makes a strong first impression. But when competing against the likes of Google, Samsung, and Apple, it’s more about the second, third, and fourth impressions. Still, if OnePlus can address those shortcomings, it might truly become the flagship killer it wants to be.

This week we’re taking a look at the OnePlus 6T, the second of the company’s yearly smartphone duo. The OnePlus 6T isn’t the same as previous “tock” phones in the OnePlus “tick tock” strategy. Instead of refining the phone they’ve released earlier in the year, this device is a bit more of an extreme departure. As far as smartphones go, this device is significantly different from its most immediate predecessor.

However, the question remains the same: Whether you need to buy this or not? So, if you already a customer of OnePlus 6 then it simply does not make any sense to upgrade to the OnePlus 6T. However, if you are a new customer and looking for a new smartphone with the latest chipset, premium design and fast charging then you can consider this option. As for the alternatives, you have Asus Zenfone 5Z, which offers comparable performance and even the LG G7+ ThinQ, which offers superior display, IP68 rating and a bunch of interesting features.

The only edge the 6T has is in the battery life department, but even that comes at the cost of the headphone jack, a trade-off I still can’t fully get behind.

What has always worked in favour of OnePlus is the price tag. OnePlus 6T despite its imperfections remains the only affordable alternative to the premium handsets in India. The phone delivers near excellent performance but software and especially camera leave a lot to be desired. OnePlus 6T has the same weaknesses and strengths as the predecessor. So, If you’re a OnePlus 6 user, you don’t need to upgrade to OnePlus 6T. For those planning to buy OnePlus 6T, keep your expectations from the new flagship killer real.

The OnePlus 6T is a no nonsense phone that offers you everything you would expect from an Android flagship without gimmicks. The phone has a very functional design, great software and offers enough controls for the users to use the OnePlus 6T the way she likes. The phone is a good upgrade for anyone on a version of OnePlus before the OnePlus 5T. Also, this is among the best Android phones you can buy and will help OnePlus consolidate its position as market leader among top-end phones.

The $549 OnePlus 6T is the best value for your Android smartphone dollar today. The OnePlus 6T has something no other phone has. Its cool under-display fingerprint sensor might be the end of the notch trend. But even more importantly, the phone has something no OnePlus phone has ever had: a carrier partner.

For all the new features of the OnePlus 6T, there are some significant losses. Sure, waterdrop notches are now in fashion, and the in-screen fingerprint sensor is great for showing off, but neither of them necessarily represent any improvement over the functionality, usability, or power of the OnePlus 6. The OnePlus 6T is good at what it does, but it isn't a clear-cut upgrade — not that one was even needed. If the OnePlus 6 continued to be available, we would likely recommend it over the newer model.

Like we already mentioned, the heyday of OnePlus as the underdog disrupting the market and growing big on viral marketing seems to be officially over now. Frankly, this comes as no surprise, since the earlier model was inherently unsustainable and we have been observing the slow transition to a more mature market presence for a few generations now. It took the arrival of the OnePlus 6T, however, to officially finalize the transition in our mind.

Indeed, the OnePlus 6T sees OnePlus enter a whole new zone, one where the competition is rather different and is fighting on being premium rather than value for money. It still offers staggeringly good value for money in terms of design, hardware and one of the most uncluttered software experiences on a flagship device this side of the Pixel brigade. The OnePlus 6T makes a good case for itself but OnePlus faces a formidable challenge: of being able to settle in a higher price bracket, with competitions who have a track record of always having been there. The brand believes in Never Settling, but we do think it might want to make an exception in this case.

The McLaren Edition is a slightly redesigned model with a new charging technology based on the OnePlus 6T. Accessories are aplenty, but is the special edition worth the $150 premium over the regular device? Find out in our review.

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will definitely appeal to fans of McLaren and Formula 1 in general. This is more than just a new paint job. The meticulously crafted retail box, exclusive accessories, and the speed mark logo made from carbon fibre extracted from an actual McLaren Formula 1 car elevate the entire experience and makes it quite special.

Moreover, the OnePlus 6T version of the McLaren did not have a premium because of the belief. The price of only 4,599 yuan ($669.83) is worthy of the collection of every follower who has survived against McLaren and F1.

The McLaren edition OnePlus 6T goes for $699 in the US, which is just a $70 premium over the top-tier vanilla OnePlus 6T in the US. While this is a great price for a special edition phone, it will be up to you to decide if the $70 premium is worth it.

For some, OnePlus is asking consumers to pay £70 extra for a tweaked design, faster charging and an unnecessarily large amount of RAM. In other words, it’s not worth upgrading to from the regular 6T, or possibly even the OnePlus 6.

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is an eye-catching phone with plenty of flagship features that improves on the standard 6T with even more RAM and even faster charging. It cost more, but it still undercuts a number of top flagship phones.

Sure, the McLaren model isn't as premium as the Find X Lamborghini or Mate 20 RS Porsche, but it wasn't meant to be a luxury smartphone. OnePlus has entered a long-term partnership with McLaren though, so more luxurious and exclusive models might be just around the corner.

If the additional RAM and Warp Charge 30 improvements weren't enough to justify the $70 premium over the standard OnePlus 6T, the unboxing experience alone might be worth that price. I haven't experienced anything like it and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My family saw me unboxing it and were also very impressed with the retail package.

Sales of the McLaren Edition OnePlus 6T will kick off in a couple of days, on December 13. The smartphone will be priced at $699. That’s a modest increase over the current OnePlus 6T pricing, but given the design and hardware improvements, it’s well worth it.
