Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The display backlight flickers at 1000 Hz (worst case, e.g., utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 29 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.

The frequency of 1000 Hz is quite high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 8706 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured.

实话实说,相比前代P57X v6最新的v7并没有什么太大的变化。它们采用了同样的机身(塑料,相对轻盈便携),相似的布局和内部组件,相同的接口,甚至相同的显卡和固态硬盘。v7的最大(可以感觉到的)区别应该是搭配了Kaby Lake酷睿 i7-7700HQ处理器,更高分辨率的高品质4K屏幕,和翻倍的内存(同时内存频率也有所提高)。

整体上,尽管市场上还有不少速度更快、品质更高的游戏本,但技嘉P57X v7依然是一台搭配了绚丽屏幕的强劲设备。

除此之外,它还有了相对更低的风扇噪音和发热量(尽管仍然在一些位置温度很高),和大幅提升的屏幕品质带来的画质飞跃(更高的亮度,色域覆盖和分辨率)。不过,前代机型的一些缺点也依然存在。它的机身品质有些难登大雅之堂,屏幕上盖显得十分单薄。它也依然十分吵(尽管搭配了易用的风扇控制软件),同时触控版还是低于平均水平。电池续航相比前代机型反而退步,尽管它搭配了更高分辨率的屏幕和更大容量内存,功耗的数据依然有些高得出乎我们意料。当然它仍然是一台游戏笔记本电脑,电池续航并不是最重要的方面。

它屏幕的响应速度并不算快,这可能会对一些射击游戏和其他需要快速反应的游戏带来负面的影响。对于其他类型的游戏,这倒不是太大的问题(接近连接电视玩游戏)。选择1080p面板可以一定程度上缓解这些问题(v6的屏幕响应速度更快),鱼与熊掌不可兼得。

整体上,尽管市场上还有不少速度更快、品质更高的游戏本,但技嘉P57X v7依然是一台搭配了绚丽屏幕的强劲设备。它可以轻松应对大部分的挑战,同时对未来的升级也有不小预留空间。如果你不打算长时间用电池也不在意品质一般的机身和触控版的话,它是个不错的选择。
