The Blade L2 has a lot to offer at just £89, with a quad-core processor, a large screen and support for microSDXC. But while it may be faster than the Motorola Moto E, in many respects the ZTE is the inferior phone - and not just in terms of its build quality. This super-budget smartphone even gets shown up by the significantly cheaper ZTE Kis 3.

The ZTE Blade S6 may be faster than the 3rd Gen Moto G, but when Motorola's handset is better made and has a superior camera and battery life, the money you save with the Blade S6 starts to feel like a false economy. There's also the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 to consider, which is arguably better value than both handsets as long as you don't mind switching to Vodafone. The Blade S6 certainly hits hard in the budget smartphone arena, but it lacks the stamina to really go head-to-head with Android's cut-price heavyweights.

While the big boys in the arena of Smartphone manufacturing tend to price their hardware at a level that many of us find incompatible with our financial constraints, other manufacturers of these “must-have devices” have a more economically viable approach to the pricing of their various models.

We like what the ZTE Blade S6 is about. It wants to get you something a bit snazzier and more powerful than an ‘upper-entry’ level model like the Motorola Moto G, while still staying significantly below £200. We’re just not all that sure about how ZTE has handled it. The custom UI feels a little unprofessional in parts, and some of the custom software loaded onto the ZTE Blade S6 is rubbish.

While the name could certainly do with some work — seriously ZTE, you’re not fooling anyone that this is an S6 — as could the style and design — again, you’re not fooling anyone that this isn’t an iPhone — ZTE’s take on what constitutes a mid-range phone for a less-than mid-range price is intriguing, and would certainly be compelling for someone keen for a new phone who has no qualms about trying a brand that isn’t totally recognisable.

It has been nice to use the ZTE Blade S6 over the last week as it has been refreshing to see such a new phone from a Chinese manufacturer coming straight to market. Beyond the initial launcher it is a clean(ish) Android Lollipop experience. Whilst it does have some shortcomings in a few areas, this is a good all-round device. If only it had a slightly better battery then it would not be that far off being a genuine Mid tier champion.

Obviously, given the interior excellence, compromises would have to be made to keep the ZTE competitively priced. You’ll find those compromises most evident within the design, screen and battery power the phone affords. But the phone truly excels in other areas. Especially thanks to an exceptional combination of software and hardware.

t’s another day and the review kit is coming thick and fast. Today we have the ZTE Blade S6 4G, an affordable Android Lollipop phone sitting in the mid level price bracket (currently £189 on Amazon). The phone is available now, and we had a brief hands on with this phone whilst at MWC in March. We were (say that 3 times fast) quite taken with it

The ZTE Blade S6 is an interesting package – it’s a good all-round performer, but it doesn’t stand out in any department. Some may argue that this is sort of the point of mid-range devices, and we feel ZTE just wanted to design a straightforward phone with a good price tag. There’s nothing wrong with that and we like what they came up with.

The Blade S6 is a decent mid-range handset, packing the major features that you’d expect such as 4G support. At around £170 it’s worthy competition for the Moto G, packing a similarly bright 5-inch 720p screen and a reasonably reliable 13-megapixel camera, although we’re not sold on ZTE’s Android tweaks and the plastic shell scuffs up rather easily.

ZTE has turned out a highly capable Android smartphone for a very reasonable price. In terms of power and photographic capabilities, it wipes the floor with the Motorola Moto G, which is only a little cheaper. However, ZTE could learn a thing or two about design from the current budget champ, as the Blade S6 simply doesn't look or feel very nice in the hand.

At a touch over £150 the ZTE Blade S6 is a great-value Android Lollipop phone with strong general performance and an attractive iPhone 6-like build. Dual-SIM and 4G LTE connectivity, a selection of smart gestures and a capable Sony camera all add to this phone's appeal, but its battery life is no better than average and we're not so keen on the idea of having all our apps by default laid bare on the home screen.

The ZTE Blade S6 is definitely an eye-catcher but the iPhone looks may be doing it more harm than favors at some markets. Apple is a natural target for replicas - there are blatant copycats and then there are phones like the Blade S6, which manage to retain an identity if their own. Still, brands like ZTE and Lenovo don't have to go there to get noticed.

The ZTE Blade S6 Plus is a nice phablet for £200, but it doesn't offer enough to make it worth an extra £50 on top of the standard model, which already has a large 5in screen. In comparison to that phone it's lost some of the features we liked, and despite having a larger battery runtime still isn't great. If you're looking for a 5.5in phablet at £200, our money would be on the Kingzone Z1.

The ZTE Blade S6 Plus is available globally now from eBay and several other different online retailers. For the launch there is a special discounted price of $269.99 (which is £182.99 or €252.99). It’s normal retail price will be $299. For those in European and Asian markets, this device is a very solid wallet-friendly smartphone that you should definitely consider if you are looking for a device with a larger display.

Although the Blade L3 felt comfortable in the hand, it did have a tendency to slip and slide if not gripped firmly or when it was placed on a sloping surface. The unit’s screen was reasonably responsive to touch and gestures but did suffer a little from finger smears although not as much as some handsets I have used.

ZTE Blade V6 is good looking and offers a decent performance. But in terms of specs, it isn't the best out there. Also, I could not find it on any e-retailer's website but it's a decent purchase at Rs 9,999.

The ZTE Blade V6 is no competition for any of the existing online smartphones (e.g. Redmi Note 3) at this price point. The only good part about this smartphone is that it boasts of a really good and premium design that no other competitor is offering. One more thing goes in the favour of Blade V6 and that is its availability in offline retail, where consumers prefer having a look at the phone. But then of course it is average on performance and all other aspects.

It's not really clear why ZTE chose to launch this model now, especially when it has already shown of its successor at this year's Mobile World Congress. The Blade V6 is priced at Rs. 9,999 and is currently only available at Hotshot retail outlets in Delhi. The nice design and decent battery life aside, there's really nothing else going for the phone to warrant a purchase. The dated software and security patch are two of its biggest flaws and are good enough reasons to avoid this altogether.

ZTE Blade V6 sure has got our positive feedback on the premium looking design and its processing power. The display too is bright and good. With a 13MP camera and an above-average display, the Blade V6 is definitely worth its price tag. However, the handset's closest competitor is its own sibling, the Blade S6 Plus, with same specifications except for a slightly larger display and 1GB extra RAM. It is priced at Rs 10,000. Some of the other competitors are Asus Zenfone Max, Redmi Note 3, Lenovo and more.

The battle for the ZTE Blade V6 will be won and loss with its price tag. Make it competitive with the Moto G and ZTE could be onto a winner, but price it too high and there are better options out there. The Blade V6 is well designed, packs some solid features and the inclusion of stock Android helps to elevate above rival Chinese handsets from Huawei and co.

Big battery. While focus is placed on a thin-as-possible line in many other smartphones, ZTE's Blade A456 sacrifices that for a relatively generously sized 4000 mAh battery. Our report reveals whether that also ensures a long battery life.

All-rounder. The Blade V7 is the newest mid-price product in ZTE's successful Blade lineup. The device offers a decent configuration at a fair price of 250 Euros (~$282, RRP). Read in our report whether the manufacturer has eliminated the former model's drawbacks and improved in the right places.

At £129, this is one of the best budget handsets available to buy right now. If you buy it from Three on a pay monthly contract, expect to pay less than £10 for it. In terms of value for money, the Blade V7 is hard to beat. We do miss the presence of a fingerprint sensor and it would be good to have a slightly higher specced battery but at that price we are definitely not complaining!

Darkness favors secret dealings! ZTE's Blade V7 Lite is an affordable mid-range smartphone with very appealing looks. Compared with its Blade V7 sister model, it is cheaper and aims to attract price-conscious buyers. However, the Lite version is equipped with a somewhat weaker SoC. Furthermore, it presented its dark side in our test.

The ZTE Blade V7 Lite is cheap, but not quite cheerful enough to justify the savings, with poor performance and a sub-par camera.

Factor in a chipset which offers thoroughly average performance levels and the Blade V7 Lite begins to look more like its £150/$225 price tag – despite the admittedly gorgeous metal bodywork, which is both svelte and comfortable to hold.

A solid build quality and acceptable camera help this phone to stand out against similar budget handsets, but overall performance can feel slow and sluggish at times. If ZTE had included a slightly better processor, the Blade V7 Lite would’ve made a very attractive package. As it stands, this is just another good budget phone.

For less than £10 a month on contract, the Blade V7 Lite does a good job of offering a strong set of features while keeping the cost down. You get a sturdy, attractive Android handset packed with all kinds of gesture controls, plus a solid HD display and a fingerprint sensor for extra security.

ZTE has definitely stepped up its game in making decent smartphones, the Blade V7 series have made it to my recommendation list for mid-range smartphones, in this case, the V7 Max is one of the best mid-rangers I've seen this year as it offers a solid build with great performance internals, retailing at RM999, it is a beautiful yet hilarious price tag to make it to the below RM1000 smartphone list, probably the only thing that ZTE really needs to fix is the ugly software experience, if not, just leave it stock and I would be extremely happy to recommend this phone to anyone out there.

When it comes down to it, the ZTE Blade V8 Pro isn’t a bad phone. There’s not too much that makes it stand out from the rest of the crowd, except for the price. On Amazon, you can get all of this for a meager $230 — that’s easily the most impressive part of the phone. For the hardware you’re getting, you really can’t find something similar at that price point, possibly less depending on what other retailers are charging, specials going on or any discounts that might be happening.

The Blade V8 Pro is a phone that has a lot of potential. On paper, it offers the perfect package of price and specifications. But, like many things that look good on paper, the Blade V8 Pro just doesn't live up to expectations. Now, I understand this is a $289.98 device, but there are couple things that you just can't get wrong on a smartphone in 2017, and one of those things is the camera. But first the positive.

That said, at $230 there’s going to be some give and take. And for the price, this is a good enough phone for young kids, tweens, and teens. Or simply for someone who doesn’t want too much from a phone.

Right now, the ZTE Blade V8 Pro and the Honor 6X are easily the cream of the budget phone crop, so much so that choosing between the two is difficult. Both phones have bright, 5.5-inch, full-HD screens, along with dual rear cameras and built-in fingerprint readers. They also share the same flaw in that they're shipping with an outdated version of Android.

It's not the perfect budget phone, but it hits a whole lot of critical stops on the way to that goal. With another few tweaks here and there, ZTE's next mid-ranger could easily change our expectations for the sort of quality we can hope to get from one very affordable smartphone.

As far as CES 2017 is concerned, there's a definite trend that dual cameras are making the headlines. We'll see if users appreciate the added benefit of altering the focus post-shooting. In any case, the competition in this particular segment is a sure way to make dual-cameras something customers would expect in a modern smartphone.

Furthermore, the ZTE Blade V8 Pro is running Android Marshmallow out of the box, which is something extraordinary for a budget phone. In short, we´re talking about a mobile device that has all the characteristics of a flagship killer, and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if it ends up being considered as one of the greatest Chinese smartphones in 2017.

It’s definitely not a good all-rounder as Xiaomi’s offering so if you do manage to snag one, we still recommend it over the ZTE. Alternately, you can even look at the Asus ZenFone 3S Max (Review), which we recently tested and found it to be a pretty good smartphone for the price.

The ZTE Blade A2 Plus is an average phone that fails to impress in terms of camera performance. The UI on the device is definitely not the best we have seen on phones and needs a major revamp. Although the price tag of Rs. 11,999 looks decent, the phone falls short to justify it. However, one area where the Blade A2 Plus scores is the battery performance and I am not sure how many customers would go for the device only because of the large 5000mAh battery. It is available exclusively from Flipkart. Check out this list if you are looking for smartphones with long battery life.

The problem with many budget smartphone these days is that it struggles with battery life. But what if I told you that there is a $179 smartphone that could easily last for two days? Well, if you're interested, then the ZTE Blade A2 Plus is probably the best budget smartphone that you are looking for.

For the initial verdict, apart from the 5000 mAh battery, ZTE Blade A2 Plus plays it too safe to move the market. We already have smartphones with enough battery life, better processor, better camera and with a similar design. Priced at Rs 11,999, the Blade A2 Plus will find it hard to stand out in the crowd.

ZTE Blade A2 Plus is a strictly average smartphone by the company. But despite the decent attempt at going with tried and tested way with a good battery life, there is no way that I would recommend this smartphone to people despite the decent price point of Rs 11,999. There are much better smartphones in the market at the same price point offering a much better value for money. The best option right now for budget buyers should be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. In fact, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime also outperforms ZTE Blade A2 Plus in performance. Other options that you may look at is Moto G4 Plus which is priced a little higher.

While there's not much to get excited about here, the Blade Velocity actually offers more than you might expect for its bargain-basement price. It feels like an own-brand smartphone - you don't get the pretty design or fun features of the pricier models, but you don't pay for the brand name either.

The ZTE Blade V7 Plus is priced in the low end range and performs very well for a $290 phone. The hardware is great quality and the software is decent without being intrusive or covered in bells and whistles that you’ll never use. While the processor/RAM combination is a tad slow at times it is not like you spend a multitude of seconds waiting for it to stop hanging up. Not once did I experience a hang up, so although the apps took a fraction of a second longer to open than usual they still opened in a reasonable amount of time.

An inexpensive smartphone with a dual camera. ZTE is expanding their lower mid-range product line. Alongside the ZTE Blade V8 64 GB, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has now introduced the ZTE Blade V8 Mini to the mobile market. The ZTE Blade V8's smaller sibling costs only 179 Euros (~$215, recommended retail price; not yet available on the American market). It is equipped with a dual camera, a fingerprint scanner and Android 7.0.

Otherwise the Blade V8 Mini looks like a fairly tidy budget handset. Sure, it's got more than a few tweaks and changes, courtesy of a custom skin, but underneath you're getting Google's latest and greatest OS.

For $150, the ZTE Blade X Max offers great value for the price. You get solid overall performance, a big, bright 1080p screen, the latest Android software, and a fingerprint sensor. We like it just a smidge more than the Max 2, but if you really want dual-band Wi-Fi or a slightly faster processor, that phone remains a strong option. The LG Stylo 3 is another alternative worth considering if you like to take a lot of notes, thanks to its useful built-in stylus, but it costs $20 more and has a lower-resolution display. That makes the ZTE Blade X Max your best overall bet, and our Editors' Choice on Cricket.

Although it certainly isn't competition for higher-end handsets, the ZTE Blade Z Max is a midrange powerhouse in the MetroPCS lineup. For $129 you get a big screen and battery, along with capable performance and a dual-camera setup that provides capabilities usually only found in more expensive devices. It's a great deal for the price, and a worthy successor to the ZMax Pro. If you're looking for something smaller, the Moto E4 is available for the same price and offers a similar level of performance. But for everyone who loves a big screen, the Blade Z Max is our Editors' Choice.

I feel like it’s utterly redundant of me to say that this phone is an amazing value if you’re on the Metro network, or if you can buy it at retail and unlock it for use on T-Mobile or AT&T. The Blade Max View does have the benefit of being quite cheap upon launch. But its rivals have fallen in price as well, and all things considered, we still find the Moto G6 and the Nokia 6.1 to offer more well-rounded experiences, with considerably more up-to-date software and a level of quality that is likely to last you a few years longer, too. That leaves ZTE's comeback feeling like a somewhat compelling alternative, though well short of a leader in its class.

If you're determined to pay less than $200 for a new smartphone, you're going to have to make some compromises. The ZTE Blade 10 Prime is a reminder of that. That’s a shame because the ZTE Blade X1 is more than competitive when it comes to the camera, processor, and RAM with many phones in its price tier. Where the Blade X1 comes up well short is the software. It’s not good enough to have a device running on an outdated security patch for more than a year and the lack of a long-term promise for platform upgrades is far behind rivals from Samsung and Google. We’ve already mentioned the closest alternatives to the Blade X1 in the Pixel 5a ($449), Galaxy A52 5G ($499), and OnePlus Nord N200 ($239). The former two hold more value and power for your money, while the Nord N200 is a cheaper entry into 5G, albeit with a similarly questionable software situation.

But the real question is whether you should buy the Blade X1 5G. If you’re looking to switch to Visible (or Yahoo Mobile) and definitely want 5G, then this is more than enough of a phone to handle anything you need. The phone is snappy, has a solid quad-camera system, and is extremely comfortable in the hand. Our biggest complaint comes down to the lack of software updates, which we are hoping to see the company improve upon in the very near future.

There’s a lot to like, especially if you’re primarily using your phone for gaming or watching videos. If you’re big into taking photos or social media, however, it’s just not a pleasant experience. That processor really puts a black eye on the package, even without any additional software fluff from ZTE. You can completely count out any kind of productivity work. If you fit the bill, however, you can get a phone with a pretty good, very large screen with wireless charging for less than a couple hundred bucks, and that’s nuts. If ZTE can tweak this just a bit for the next iteration, they’re going to have a budget-friendly king on their hands.

This year’s Motorola Moto G Power would be a worthwhile alternative if you can spend a little more; you’ll get a faster processor and better battery life, though you should definitely plan on buying a microSD card to supplement its meager 32GB of storage. The G Play is a good alternative, too, even with a processor that’s a bit slower than the G Power’s.

The ZTE Blade V30 Vita smartphone is built for the entry-level segment and does not offer high-end specs. You’re getting a larger display phone with a flashy triple camera setup design and long battery life. With this combo, you will get the user’s attention. But at the same time, the phone’s main selling point would be its camera and a huge battery. However, the competition has always been tough on budget phones. In the end, if you’re looking for a smartphone for general uses the Blade V30 Vita is a great deal. If the device is not available in your country, you can also check out the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 as an alternative with almost similar specs and features.

A smartphone for those who are not looking for something special and outstanding in devices, but are on a budget and want not the simplest, but at the same time convenient phone. In the ZTE Blade V30 Vita, we get decent autonomy, a tolerable camera, and nice bonuses like NFC or an interface without overloaded elements.

The ZTE Blade V30 is an entry-level phone so you will not get a 5G smartphone. As the battery is powerful, the cameras are well developed and the FHD screen catches your eye, this phone definitely not going to disappoint you. When it comes to gaming or judging the phone’s performance, you might be disappointed as the chipset is an entry-level addition. If you look for alternatives, you will get many phones in this budget range with advanced features.

ZTE Blade L9 is released in Mexico on 10th October 2021, where the expected price would be roughly $80 (Rs 5,999). The phone is the successor of the Blade L8, and it offers almost similar specs. The Blade L9 smartphone equips a pretty regular 5-inches TFT screen and you will get the compact look. But, the phone weighs 143-grams, and the front display has the thickest bezels we have seen in 2021. The hardware section arrives with a Unisoc SC7731e chipset that onboard along with a quad-core processor. The software layering of the Android 11 Go edition attains on the phone. Single-camera on the back panel present; it’s none other than a 5MP lens (up-scaled to 8MP) that can record up to 720p video recording. The 2MP (up-scaled to 5MP) selfie is also present. Under the hood, you will only get the average sensor—such as an accelerometer. For power supply, you are getting a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery that grants average screen time, while you can choose from color options of Blue and Black. The phone is available in 1GB RAM with a 32GB storage variant.
