I’m not easily impressed, but HP certainly won me over with this one. The highlights of this machine are the incredible battery life, perfect screen and excellent user interface with the keyboard and trackpad. Let’s also not forget the build quality. Those features alone easily warrant the price they are asking. Sure, there are a couple sacrifices to be made, but that’s a small price to pay in comparison to what you get in the package.

Overall, the HP Spectre x360 is an excellent laptop. The premium materials give it a great look but do add a bit to the weight. The screen is also very good but what I like best is the trackpad. Available north of AED 5500, the HP Spectre x360 is definitely one of the laptops to put on your short list if you’re in the market for a high-end laptop.

The look and overall feel of this laptop makes one think that HP is on the right track in its bid to win over users who want a premium device. In particular, we like the subtle move away from a typical HP logo on the lid to a more stylised spelling of the entire Hewlett Packard name. Other things that stand out are the polished hinges and edges, which all look stunning.

The HP Spectre x360 13t (13-4003) is a superb mix of design, function, and performance, with premium touches, like a versatile convertible design, a unique geared hinge, a spacious touchpad, and enhanced Wi-Fi. The fact that it delivers all of this at a midrange price is just icing on the cake. Compared with the Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W-B5224, the Spectre x360 offers similar performance, a more compact and portable design, and better battery life, making it our Editors' Choice midrange convertible-hybrid laptop.

The HP Spectre X360 is an excellent ultrabook. To be honest, after spending some time with the beautiful Dell XPS 13, we didn’t think there’d be another 13”-class ultrabook this year worthy of an Editor’s Choice award, since Dell set the bar so high, but HP has pulled it off.

The Spectre x360 is a solid aluminium effort from HP that looks premium, feels fast and sports a mighty huge trackpad that you’ll probably miss if you move on from it. Its top-notch battery life makes up for its relative heft, and it’s a relatively classier alternative to Lenovo's similarly rotating Yoga range - it’s well worth a look if you’re after a laptop that lets you do more than just work.

HP’s Spectre x360 is proof of how competitive the premium laptop market has become. It used to be just the MacBook that ruled the roost, but over the past few years everyone has entered the game, and some companies are making major strides. Dell is the most notable example, but Asus continues to bring its game, particularly in market for entry-level, super-thin systems.

At first glance the HP Spectre x360 may seem to rely on gimmicky extras a little too much. A 360-degree hinge, ultra-wide trackpad and touchscreen may put off some people who are just out for a long-lasting, slim laptop. But don't be put off. These features are worthy additions to what is already a rock-solid, high-value portable laptop. The x360 works just about perfectly as an everyday workhorse thanks to its great battery life and sound aluminium design.

HP's new Spectre X360 laptop was a collaboration between HP and Mircrosoft to give a premium example of what a 2-in-1 hybrid laptop can achieve. The system is certainly a step up from thePavilion x360 by featuring a machined aluminum chassis similar to what Apple has done with its laptops but it distinguishes itself with some polished metal edges and rounded corners.

The laptop is 3.26 pounds, so it’s light enough for everyday use. I’m not a big gamer anymore, but the Core i7 processor was fast enough for HD movies on Google Play, using Google Earth several times, and even playing a few first-person shooters. One perk: You can stream the display wirelessly if you have an Intel Wi-Di receiver in your conference room and no cables for connecting up directly to a monitor.

he body is perfectly well assembled and carefully designed. The Spectre x360 is a stellar laptop. Not only does it have an outstanding body, but the screen is of the highest quality, it's versatile and it has plenty of battery life in it. This is pretty close to perfection, we'd love to see more of this from HP!

For my harsh battery test, I set the screen brightness to high, turned off all power-saving features and left Wi-Fi on to fetch email, all while continuously playing a video. The Spectre x360 lasted 7.5 hours. That’s an hour short of the XPS 13, though I should mention that the Dell model I tested didn’t have a touchscreen, which consumes more power. The MacBook Air lasted 10 hours and 14 minutes in our tests, and the new MacBook petered out after about five hours.

But—and you knew the ‘but’ was coming—it’s not the lightest convertible at 3.3 lbs, nor the smallest. I also nit-pick that HP sexed up everything about the Spectre x360 except the power brick, which is the same brick you’d get with the company’s $199 Streambook! Even the company’s drop-dead-gorgeous Omen used one boring block of a power supply. I know there’s something to be said for uniform power bricks from the same company, but with the Spectre x360, it feels like you have a Rolls Royce with Yugo tires.

I asked at the beginning of this review if there's anything not to like about the Spectre x360. Indeed there is: the machine's relative heaviness. At three-plus pounds, it's hardly a clunker, but it is noticeably weightier than other 13-inch machines. Curiously, though, that weight also makes possible so many of the things I like about the laptop.

With long battery life, good performance and an attractive design, the HP Spectre x360 is one of the best convertible notebooks you can buy. While not as light, or convenient, in tablet mode as the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro, the x360 is less expensive, has a more powerful processor and lasts longer on a charge.

We don't say "superb" lightly, and we don't make comparisons to the MacBook Air lightly: Though a third of a pound heavier, the Spectre looks as elegant, performs as well, and gives you much more for the money (although its triumph may be short-lived if you believe the gossip about a fantastically thinner, higher-resolution, cosmic-ray-powered Air coming soon). All we can say to HP is, that's the spirit.

The screen is 13.3 in and uses a Full HD resolution although it will be available with QHD too if you fancy paying extra. It looks crisp but as you can see it's highly reflective. Below it is a full-size keyboard with 1.5mm travel and an extra wide trackpad. HP touts a battery life of 12 and a half hours from the 56 Wh which isn't bad but there is better available on the market.

HP doesn't break any new ground in terms of design or features in the Spectre x360. It's essentially a slightly nicer version of what's come before, built from premium materials and outfitted with an excellent screen and Intel's latest CPUs. But it does all this for under $1,000, even for a configuration with a big 256GB SSD, which is enough for me to ignore the fact that it's just a little heavier than it should be.

In terms of other hardware, the Spectre x360 comes with a choice of Intel core i5 or i7 processors, a 512GB SSD and Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating systems. HP claims it will offer 12.5 hours of battery life thanks the the 56-watt hour capacity, or 10 hours of video playback but we will have to wait until we get it in for full review to see how that plays out.

We’ve spent a few days putting the Spectre x360 through its paces, gathered all the test results, and we’re comfortable enough to draw a few conclusions. Unfortunately, as good as the HP Spectre x360 is, only time will tell if this is enough to satisfy consumers looking for a “casual use” laptop that delivers a “premium experience.” The x360 has several advantages over a MacBook Air, but that won’t convince those who still argue the Apple logo and Mac OS X are the main reasons that 13 percent of the US consumer PC market buys Macs.

15-inch convertible done right. Smaller convertibles like the Yoga 900 tend to work very well due to the lighter and more portable form factor. Scaling up to a 15-inch screen size has proven difficult, but HP is the first to hit it out of the park.

So with generally nice things to say about the Spectre x360 15, and impressive wins in some of our benchmark contests, why are we giving the system only three stars on our five-star scale? Well, it's not a matter of disliking our test unit so much as liking the $1,349 Core i7 4K model more, even if we'd rate the latter's three advantages in order as (1) 16GB rather than 8GB of memory, (2) 4K rather than full HD display, (3) Core i7 rather than Core i5 processor.

The 15-inch HP Spectre x360 15t (15-ap011dx) ($1,149.99 as tested) is a midrange convertible-hybrid laptop that feels as solid as a bank-vault door, thanks to a body that's mostly metal. It has a great selection of I/O ports, including full-size HDMI and USB-C ports. Because of those ports and a sixth-generation Intel Core i5 processor, the Spectre x360 15t (15-ap011dx)$1,149.99 at Best Buy won't seem obsolete for a long while. But its price is $550 higher than that of our current Editors' Choice, the Acer Aspire R14 (R5-471T-52EE)$699.99 at Best Buy, a system with comparable features and performance.

HP really delivers with the Spectre x360. The all-aluminum chassis gives it a sophisticated look while providing a very sturdy shell that should be able to withstand the abuse of being carted hither and yon. Ultimately, the Spectre x360 15 is an excellent 15-inch, 2-in-1 laptop that stands out with its thin, metal body, strong performance and long battery life. Really, that's about it. The biggest compliment I can pay the HP is that the complaints you see above are the only ones I have. And the only reason you should hesitate to buy one is if you're waiting for next year's model -- or if you really want a MacBook instead. If you're looking for a full-featured Windows laptop with major bang for the buck, the HP Spectre x360 is it.

The Spectre x360 is not just another run of the mill laptop. Much like Apple's offerings, it feels special and is crated with exquisite attention to detail - reason enough to buy it for many. The sleek and svelte design is paired to a sharp and vivid display, an ergonomic keyboard, good connectivity options that do not leave users with dongles in their bags and great performance.

The HP Spectre X360 is currently the best 2-in-1 ultraportable we have laid our hands on in recent times. Be it design, performance or even battery life, the Spectre nails it perfectly. However, there are minor heating issues and it comes witth a high price tag.

This is the third time we've reviewed the 13.3-inch Spectre x360, and the third time it's walked away with an Editors' Choice award. We prefer Microsoft's more costly Surface Book for serious sessions of artistic pen input, but as a daily productivity partner the HP is hard to beat.

Other than that, you’d be hard pressed to find any fault with HPs design decisions when it comes to the 15-inch Spectre x360. The Spectre x360 15-inch comes highly recommended, and so far it’s the laptop to beat this year. Few companies will be able to deliver a product with as many compelling features at HP’s price point.

The real question we have about HP’s Spectre x360 isn’t whether it’s the best convertible laptop out there—we’re wondering if it’s the best ultrabook laptop period. With its reduced weight and size, it’s a vast improvement on the original Spectre x360.

If you've been following along, then you probably know how this conclusion is going to go. The HP Spectre x360 is definitely among the best laptops on the market right now. It's pretty inexpensive as well, starting at $1,149 but offering 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, and a Core i7 for just $1,299.

When Intel introduced Kaby Lake processors for notebooks a few months ago, the company's goal was to focus on targeting consumers mostly upgrading 5-year old notebooks, as these would be the people most likely to gain the most performance benefits from an incremental product refinement. Our original ASUS ZenBook UX31E falls into this group, as it was one of the first ultrabooks to be announced during CES 2012. ASUS did an exceptional job delivering a sleek and portable design that has been surprisingly scarcely matched ever since, delivering a 2.87-pound chassis with a 0.7-inch midway height. The processor technology going from a dual-core Sandy Bridge 1.7GHz chip (2.7GHz Turbo) to a dual-core Kaby Lake 1.7GHz chip (2.7GHz Turbo) has been enough to warrant an upgrade with noticeable productivity benefits.

The Spectre x360 is one of those rare laptops that takes all of the same parts as everyone else and combines them together into something greater than their sum. Perhaps it’s time that Dell, Lenovo, and even Apple started to take note.

That's not to say there are no improvements -- Windows Hello is a treat, as are the faster SSD speeds, longer battery life and wide viewing angles. But if our main complaint about last year's model was that it was slightly heavy compared with the competition, it would seem that HP accepted some compromises in the name of shedding a few ounces.

It's not easy following up a hit. (Just ask Apple, whose new MacBook Pros have been criticized for a 16GB RAM ceiling and lack of legacy ports.) HP has done a model job of it with the second-generation Spectre x360. For a few, the absent SD card slot will be a deal-breaker, and some more will look elsewhere for a higher-resolution screen. But for most shoppers, the new Spectre joins the best two or three of Lenovo's thousand Yogas (say, the 900S, 910, and X1) as the most desirable 2-in-1's.

Fast performance, long battery life and a comfy keyboard in a sleek, flexible package — what more could you want from a 2-in-1 work companion? Enterprise customers who need business-class security and durability credentials might want to look at the ThinkPad X1 Yoga, though that system is a lot pricier (starts at $1,550) and not as portable as the Spectre x360 (starts at $1,050). Independent workers who want the best 2-in-1 laptop on the market should buy HP's laptop without a second thought.

While the Surface Book retains its place as an aspirational convertible notebook in Microsoft’s Windows ecosystem, delivering enticing features to creative professionals, HP’s Spectre x360 is a notebook built for everyday consumers. Sure, the device lacks some of the glitzier features of its more expensive rival—like a detachable display and pen support for note-taking—but the Spectre more than makes up for it with an affordable price tag, compact footprint, long battery life and fast performance.

The refinements on this year’s model shows HP’s maturity as a company. The Spectre ships with the company’s new logo on the lid, and HP clearly listened to its customers to include only features that are relevant to a majority of its user base, stripping away unneeded extras that would have otherwise contributed to a higher price tag. If you choose the Spectre x360, you won’t get the highest resolution display, but HP’s no-frills approach produced one of the best and beautifully designed all-around convertibles at an affordable starting price.

It’s getting tougher and tougher to pick the best Ultrabook around, but the Spectre’s excellent performance combined with solid specs makes it one of the top contenders on the market. If only it had a larger SSD and more memory, it could have been the pick of the bunch.

Almost everything about HP’s Spectre x360 13 is awesome but fails to impress when it comes to performance. We noticed that the CPU can’t reach its maximum frequency or at least sustain it for more than a few seconds. This might be due to some poor cooling design implementation, BIOS limitations or just an isolated problem with our unit. Either way, the Spectre x360 13 we’ve tested is an end production sample so units like this might fall into the user’s hands.

This leaves my final recommendation as this: if design is most important to you, and you especially want the 360-degree hinge functionality, get the Spectre x360. But if you value performance and will mostly use the Spectre as a laptop, it might be best to look at competing products.

As usual, HP nailed it with the Spectre x360. As I mentioned in the introduction, the second-generation model had some pain points that were solved in a mid-stream refresh. I don't recall there actually being any pain points in the second one though, other than the shorter battery life that comes with a 4K display.

To really understand HP’s take on the Spectre x360 13t, you have to look at the little things. For example, the last iteration featured a side-mounted flush power button that often was difficult to find and press. This version’s button features a small dimple that makes it easy to locate by touch. A lot of companies might let those little things just roll on for another year or two, but not HP.

To sum it up, the Spectre x360 remains true to its character, which is that of a lean and mean business machine designed for portability and show. The new Intel Core i7 CPU keeps the Spectre up to date and helps boost battery life by a few more minutes. At the same time, its already attractive packaging gets a significant styling and paint job from HP that includes aluminium panels and “gem cut” edges for added character.

In the end, it’s hard not gush about the overachieving HP Spectre x360 13. It's essentially everything we loved about about the previous Spectre x360 13, at a surprisingly reasonable price. Want to avoid #donglelife? It has USB Type A. Want external graphics? It has Thunderbolt 3. Both IR camera and biometric Windows Hello support? Yup. Add in crazy-longer battery life and generally better performance (clearly there’s still tuning to be done), and you get yet another easy winner in what has long been our pick for best convertible laptop around. That’s not even mentioning the value. A similarly configured Dell XPS 13 9380 will cost you about $1,400. In Apple land, a MacBook Air with the same amount of RAM and storage will cost the same but net you a far less powerful dual-core, low power, Core i5 chip. And neither the Dell nor Apple have touch or pen support at that price.

HP's Spectre lineup has always been among the best of the best. That's no different this year. Always one of the sexiest PCs on the market, it's even more beautiful this year, with its angular edges all around. It's functional too, as the placement of the charging port is smart, allowing you to be free of cables getting in your way while still allowing you to fold back the display.

Overall, aside from the trackpad issues, most of my complaints with the Spectre x360 are rather minor. HP has refined and iterated on this computer for four generations now, and changes like the relocated power button and physical camera switch show that the company is listening to criticisms. While I much prefer smaller bezels and a 3:2 aspect ratio screen, the x360’s panel has few actual faults. The same goes for its performance and battery life. You can find laptops with more horsepower under the hood, but you won’t find ones that can last as long between charges.

The HP Spectre x360 excels in almost every area. The 2-in-1 lured me in with its attractive laptop chassis, and enchanted with outstanding battery life, a world-class keyboard and powerful speakers. The Spectre x360 also offers strong performance and its 13.3-inch, 1080p touch screen is sharp and colorful. Along with its new design, this year's model introduces compelling new features, like a physical webcam kill switch and a discrete fingerprint sensor.

HP says the antireflection glass does a better job than standard antiglare glass or coatings, maintaining contrast, transmitting more light and resisting fingerprints. And if you've hated the touchpad on the earlier models, you'll like that HP now supports the better Microsoft Precision Touchpad.

The HP Spectre x360 has come across as a fairly impressive laptop. For the premium it charges, it offers a strong proposition with its gorgeous design and premium build, reliably fast performance and really impressive battery life. There are some weak areas such as the thick bezels around the display and a slow fingerprint sensor. However, if you can gloss over that, the Spectre x360 is a brilliant laptop for your everyday laptop needs.

The HP Spectre x360 13-ap0101tu is a power-packed laptop with excellent build quality and a premium design. You get a good selection of ports, a sensitive touchscreen with a clever privacy feature, a comfortable keyboard, and very good speakers.

In my brief time with the Spectre x360, it quickly became one of my favourite laptops. It feels like a premium package. Thanks to its lightweight, I was able to carry it around and use it on the go comfortably. Plus, the screen looks great, the keyboard feels great, and overall, it was a pleasure to use.Looking back at my gripes, many of them are either nitpicks or general issues with the state of 2-in1s, not necessarily problems with the Spectre itself. I think that stands as a testimony to the quality of the device that my biggest complaints are hardly problems at all.

HP has created yet another excellent 2-in-1 device with this year’s Spectre x360. A refined design and upgraded internals make it a solid performer with the looks to match. If you’re in the market for a laptop which doubles as a tablet, this is a seriously tempting device.

The Spectre gives you the smallest footprint of all of them, plus both Thunderbolt 3 (which is not found on the Surface Laptop 3) and USB-A ports (which are lacking on the XPS 13 2-in-1), and it comes in at a lower price when similarly configured. The main thing you give up with the Spectre is the better screen ratios found on the Dell or Microsoft computers, which may be a deal-breaker for some. Frankly, it is for me. I much prefer a taller aspect ratio for everyday work. But if you don’t mind using a 16:9 display, then the Spectre x360 is an excellent thin-and-light 2-in-1 laptop.

For years, consumers have watched as PC makers have taken away feature after feature in the interest of shrinking laptops. We hope that line stops here, because HP just proved that you can make a tiny, powerful, long-lasting and feature-packed laptop without yanking every single thing people love. Losing any of those features isn't always a deal-breaker, but if we have a choice between that and the HP Spectre x360 13t, a laptop with good keyboard travel, an IR camera, larger battery, USB Type-A, and upgradable SSD, we’ll reach for the latter 9 out of 10 times.

HP’s latest Spectre x360 13t has something to say to other thin-and-light laptops, which, it seems, are all about taking good things away from you. Keyboards with travel, USB Type-A ports, and even the opportunity to replace your SSD are features that have all gone by the wayside in some of Dell and Apple’s newest and thinnest laptops.

When I wrapped up my review of Dell's XPS 13 2-in-1 I said it was the ultraportable two-in-one to beat. The HP, in my opinion, beats it, but not by much. It's similar in size to the Dell and has an equally elegant design. While the XPS edges out the HP in our benchmarks, it's likely due to the Dell we tested having 16GB of memory to the HP's 8GB. Regardless, the numbers aren't drastically different, and the HP had a slightly longer battery life.

HP's Spectre x360 13 gets very close to laptop perfection. The latest model enhances a beautiful design with slimmer bezels and a more compact chassis and does so without making many compromises. Under the hood, the Spectre x360's 10th Gen Ice Lake processors offer faster performance than before and enable epic battery life (more than 13 hours). If the Spectre x360 ran cooler and the speakers didn't distort at maximum volume, I wouldn't have hesitated to award it our rare 5-star rating.

On first impressions, the Spectre x360 13 strikes us as a very impressive bit of kit. But the performance improvements remain to be seen if it would really worth the upgrade or not.

The Spectre x360 is a nifty upgrade of its already top-quality predecessors. With its premium look and build, latest specs, effortless performance, and a sharp display, it is easily among the best 2-in-1 laptops available in the market today. The little things it takes care of — camera kill switch, mic mute button, Windows Precision drivers for trackpad — only make it more endearing. For its size, it is a performer. On the other hand, it is quite expensive and will cost you upwards of Rs 1,50,000. The system is also prone to overheating. But if you can live with these issues, with the Spectre x360 you've got a winner that's top-quality on the outside as well as inside.

Now, if you are thinking that all of this has to come at a price, you’d be right. The Spectre x360 13 is one of the pricier notebooks available at the moment. Prices start at S$2,399 and for that, you’ll get a Core i5-1035G4 processor with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. That’s good enough for most people, but more demanding users will want to opt for the pricier model (the one I tested) that costs S$2,899 and comes with a Core i7-1065G7 processor with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. It’s a lot of money for a notebook but it’s the same Dell charges for a similarly specced Dell XPS 13 2-in-1.

The HP Spectre x360 (2019) also comes with the HP Active Pen stylus. It’s a sturdily-built device that feels great to handle and works swimmingly with the x360’s touchscreen. The fact that HP has included it with the Spectre x360 at no extra cost, when many of the other manufacturers don’t, could and should be a major selling point.

The general processing power of the Spectre well and truly covers the capacity to replace a desktop PC, with the only real failing of not having no graphic capacity for gaming. Where some other devices clearly belong at a higher level, the Spectre feels as it belongs in more a “prosumer” level and the price as mentioned - matches.

HP’s newest refresh for their 13-inch Spectre x360 has everything you need from a notebook: looks to die for, an ultra-sharp, vivid touchscreen display, performance that won’t let you down and incredible battery life. We don’t know yet what the specific price our review unit goes for, though reps for HP tells us that the 13-inch Spectre x360 starts at Php 79,990 for the base model. That’s a reasonable price tag for the kind of performance you get from this particular notebook.

The price tag is a bit steep, starting at PHP 79,990. But I think it’s reasonable considering the benefits mentioned above. If you’re on the hunt for a laptop that is powerful enough to aid you in productivity and looks good at the same time, this is the one to get.

But other than that, it's the perfect laptop. This is a design that's going to turn heads, and it has the best display on a 13-inch laptop. Also, $1,800 isn't a bad price at all considering what you get. If you're looking for an ultrabook to buy, I definitely think that this is it.

The HP Spectre x360 13 is a fantastic ultrabook. It has a speedy performance, an ultra-portable design and the option of an absolutely gorgeous 4K display that provides extra pizzazz to Netflix content. The poor battery life prevents this laptop getting full marks though, but that's the compromise you have to make for best-in-class picture quality.

The HP Spectre x360 13 is much more compact now with almost no compromise to the device’s ergonomics. Crunching power too is right up there with other high-end business machines. Save for a few minor flaws, like the lack of a parking garage for the bundled stylus, flat audio, and high fan noise, the HP Spectre x360 13 comes up as the best Spectre ever made. It’s one heck of a premium convertible laptop if you’re willing to spend close to Rs 2 lakh.

How about the input devices? Well, the screen is incredibly fast in recognizing your inputs. It should work great with a Pen but we would love to read some of your comments on that, especially if you are an artist or a designer. While the touchpad is pretty good with its wider surface area and glass surface, the kudos here go for the keyboard. It has a long travel, clicky but not loud feedback and a spacing decent enough to result in a great comfortability overall.
