去年,Nvidia宣布了以GeForce RTX 40系列的出现为标志的消费者台式机的Ada Lovelace架构。在我们的测试中, RTX 4090, RTX 4080, 和RTX 4070 Ti与图灵的同类产品相比,桌面卡提供了显著的性能和效率提升。

今天,轮到阿达的移动变体重复这一壮举。

采用旗舰级Ada移动GPU的笔记本电脑,如 RTX 4090RTX 4080笔记本电脑GPU现已在全球上市。配备中端Ada卡的设备将在本月晚些时候推出。

如果不在电池寿命和热管理方面作出严重的妥协,将一个完整的AD102芯片塞进笔记本电脑机箱是不可能的。因此,RTX 40移动阵容从AD103 GPU开始,该GPU是RTX 4080及以下的主流GPU从头开始制造的,因此不是一个被削减的AD102部件。

因此,RTX4090笔记本GPU与桌面RTX4080本质上是一样的,只是名称上有误导。然而,这些卡之间的相似之处也就到此为止。

RTX 4090笔记本GPU使用与台式机RTX 4080相同的256位内存总线,但内存带宽减少了约20%,尽管比台式机RTX 4080略快。 RTX 3080 Ti 笔记本GPU.

GDDR6X的耗电特性意味着它不能用于笔记本电脑的外形尺寸。Nvidia表示,Ada移动设备中的GDDR6 VRAM被设计成高效的,具有改进的时钟门控、低电压,并增加了低功率内存状态。

RTX 4080笔记本GPU使用桌面RTX 4070 Ti的AD104芯片,CUDA核心数略有减少,与我们之前在RTX 3080 Ti笔记本GPU中看到的一致。

尽管RTX 3080 Ti笔记本GPU在纸面上似乎更好,至少在VRAM特性方面,RTX 4080移动版通过Ada的架构改进弥补了这一不足之处。

Ada一代还为Nvidia的Max-Q实现带来了一些显著的变化。当Max-Q首次与图灵一起亮相时,人们更关注的是TDP等级。显卡本身被明显地标记为Max-Q,这使得选择更加容易。

然而,从安培开始,Nvidia选择将媒体和终端用户置于一个难题之中,取消了Max-Q品牌,而是将其作为Whisper Mode、Resizeable BAR、Dynamic Boost、Advanced Optimus等技术的总称。

OEM现在可以选择使用他们认为合适的Max-Q技术的任何子集,也可以将大型GPU装入薄型机箱以获得炫耀的权利,同时将其TDP实际配置在基础值附近。

通过Ada,Nvidia正在引入它所谓的第五代Max-Q,其中DLSS 3和低功耗GDDR6内存发挥了不可或缺的作用。

新的DLSS 3和光线追踪管道

在我们对RTX 4090创始版的评论中,我们已经简单地谈到了DLSS 3和Ada中的新光线追踪功能。 RTX 4090 Founders Edition.本质上,DLSS 3使用Ada新的独立光学流加速器(OFA)来插入飞行帧。帧的生成发生在GPU上,而不是在游戏中。

更准确地说,DLSS 3是现有DLSS 2超级分辨率和帧生成的结合。据Nvidia称,DLSS 3重建了7/8的图像--第一帧的3/4是用DLSS 2超级分辨率重建的,而完整的第二帧是用帧生成的。

请注意,DLSS 3需要一个RTX 40 GPU,支持的标题,并启用硬件加速GPU调度和Nvidia Reflex。

Ada具有第三代光线追踪(RT)核心,有两个新功能--不透明微图引擎和位移微网格引擎。这是在Ampere中已经存在的盒子相交引擎和三角形相交引擎之外的。

还有一个新的Shader Execution Reordering (SER)管道。(SER)流水线,它可以作为二级射线线程的有效调度器。虽然SER有可能加快密集的RT计算,如路径追踪,但它需要游戏开发者的支持。

根据Nvidia的说法,实现SER应该是非常简单的。开发人员将能够通过Nvidia NSight获得关于SER性能的反馈。该公司表示,它正在与微软和其他公司合作,在DirectX等图形API中增加SER支持。

累积的3DMark性能显示,Titan GT77 HX和XMG Neo 16中的RTX 4090 Laptop GPU的性能相似,表明在管道的其他地方没有潜在的瓶颈问题。

与RTX 4090 Laptop相比,Razer Blade 16的RTX 4080 Laptop GPU下降了19%,这与这些GPU的桌面版本之间的百分比差异相似。

也就是说,RTX 4090笔记本GPU比桌面RTX 4090创始版显卡慢35%,而与Radeon RX 7900 XTX相比,落后26%。然而,其性能与桌面RTX 4070 Ti相当。

尽管具有相似数量的CUDA核心,但TDP限制意味着320 W RTX 4080 Founders Edition与175 W RTX 4090 Laptop GPU相比,在整体3DMark性能上快20%。

与上一代移动GPU相比,Ada一代似乎提供了明显的性能提升。RTX 4090笔记本GPU在所有的3DMark测试中,比一般的RTX 3080 Ti笔记本GPU快了高达76%。

与一般的RTX 3080 Ti移动变体相比,RTX 4080笔记本GPU也有43%的良好收益。

在游戏方面也出现了类似的趋势,XMG Neo 16中的RTX 4090 Laptop GPU在累积游戏性能方面与RTX 4070 Ti台式机相差无几。

我们看到,RTX 4080笔记本GPU落后于RTX 4090移动变体达17%,这与我们看到的RTX 4090和RTX 4080的桌面版本之间的差距相似。

架构的改进似乎使RTX 4080笔记本电脑在整体游戏性能方面比RTX 3080 Ti笔记本电脑GPU有33%的优势,但RTX 4090比安培的移动旗舰提供了高达61%的收益。

就像他们的台式机一样,RTX 40移动GPU似乎也很容易在较低的分辨率下被CPU封杀。例如, Metro Exodus(非增强型),看到RTX 4090 Laptop GPU在1080p Ultra下落后于桌面RTX 4070 Ti多达19%。然而,在4K Ultra下,旗舰的Ada移动GPU的表现与RTX 4070 Ti相当。

我们还看到,与1080p或QHD Ultra相比,RTX 4090笔记本GPU和RTX 4090桌面卡在4K Ultra下的差距越来越大,原因就在于此--Ada只是喜欢在4K下被征税。

有趣的是,RTX 4080笔记本GPU和RTX 4090笔记本GPU之间的差距在4K时也会增加。

Mafia: Definitive Edition,这种对CPU要求极高的游戏只在1080p时显示出RTX 4070 Ti和RTX 4090笔记本GPU之间可感知的差异。随着分辨率的提高,RTX 4090笔记本GPU能够缩小差距,甚至在这个游戏中以微弱优势击败RTX 4070 Ti。

与图灵相比,Nvidia的安培一代在性能方面有很多优势,但其推出时正值全球秩序混乱之时。

因此,这些卡的库存不足,价格过高,导致了各种黄牛的诡计。再加上善变和短暂的加密货币热潮,许多游戏玩家认为选择安培动力的笔记本电脑而不是桌面卡是有经济意义的。

快进到2023年,这些令人痛心的经历大多已经过去了。Nvidia最新的Ada GPU在性能和能效方面为自己设定了非常高的基准,它们似乎是一个真正的代际飞跃。

我们对Ada在桌面上的性能留下了深刻印象,并很高兴看到这些优势大部分也被转化到了笔记本方面。

Nvidia RTX 4080和RTX 4090笔记本GPU充分展示了Ada的性能和效率优势,前者的性能或多或少类似于350W的桌面RTX 3090。然而,这些优势只有在最高端规格的175瓦时才能看到。

不过,Ada移动版并非一切都很顺利。我们测试的设备允许RTX4080和RTX4090在150瓦的情况下充分施展他们的肌肉,并有额外的25瓦动态提升。并非所有的笔记本电脑都允许这些GPU在这些TDP下运行。

而那些允许的笔记本电脑也不完全是便携式的--仅泰坦GT77的电源就有1.4公斤重,其在峰值负载下的噪音水平会给人一种坐在F16驾驶舱里的感觉。

另一个问题是Nvidia的误导性品牌宣传。普通客户通常对数字品牌比实际的GPU规格更感兴趣,所以圣克拉拉的某个人认为将顶级产品命名为RTX 4090笔记本GPU是非常有营销意义的,因为它的性能比桌面RTX 3090更好

但那些寻求RTX 4090驱动的笔记本电脑的人并不是你的典型的普通消费者。而且,我们甚至不谈在80W到150W TDP范围内可以预期的各种性能问题。

价格是另一个需要考虑的重要因素。我们在这次比较中使用的笔记本电脑有可能在你的口袋里钻一个大洞。以至于购买一辆二手车可能看起来是更好的投资。但是,这就是一般旗舰设备的性质。

综上所述,阿达手机是朝着正确方向迈出的可喜一步。我们在高端配置中看到的好处肯定也会渗透到中端和入门级产品中,而DLSS 3等功能肯定会帮助加速Ada在移动游戏玩家中的应用。
