Considering its price tag and performance capabilities, the Lenovo LOQ (15″ Intel, 2023) is one of the best affordable gaming notebooks you can get right now. Of course, this doesn’t take into consideration the temperatures and some features that are missing. In our opinion, the regular user won’t be interested in them. In terms of pure gaming experience, you don’t really need an SD card slot, nor a Thunderbolt 4 port. However, you might want a MUX switch, and the LOQ 15 delivers in this department. Lenovo LOQ (15″ Intel, 2023)’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a very good contrast ratio. Its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment, which is great.

And seeing how most of the competition with a similar setup cost quite a bit more, the LOQ 15 stands out as a solid offering. Having said that, there are a few turnoffs here that may or may not matter to you. Like its cheap plastic build, that so-so display, and a few other things. While the standard 1080p display is good enough though, I would rather have a higher resolution 1440p display at this size format. Despite not having premium aesthetics, I was pretty satisfied with the implementation as the laptop doesn’t look cheap and seems to justify the cost. Of course, it is bulkier than most modern gaming notebooks, and falls behind when it comes to battery life, which is something that most gaming laptops struggle with anyway. Other minor points of concern are the webcam and speakers, both of which are average. Competitors like the ASUS TUF Gaming A16, Dell G15 Gaming, and the new MSI Cyborg 15 with Intel’s new Core Ultra processors, are all viable options available in the same price range.
