The most impressive thing about the ASUS MeMO Pad Smart 10 is that it streets for around $280, yet it offers a 10.1-inch IPS display, Tegra 3 processor, and a thin and light design. It even looks like a premium tablet, plastic back notwithstanding. You don't get to that price point on a 10.1-inch slate without making some sacrifices, and the biggest one is screen resolution, which checks in at just 1280x800.

The MeMo Pad ME301T isn’t designed to be the best tablet around — it’s designed to be one of the best available for a certain price, and it succeeds at at that. But if you can afford a $299 tablet you might able able to afford a $399 tablet… in which case you can get a whole lot more tablet for your money.

However, competitors like the Google Nexus 10 or the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 are alternatives you should consider when shopping for a cheap 10 inch Android tablet. But I really feel that with proper pricing, the MemoPad Smart can be an excellent option as well.

High-resolution x86 Android. An FHD resolution and the still uncommon for Android x86 processor lets the Memo Pad FHD stick out of the crowd. But how will the device fare when examined closely?

ASUS' $329 MeMO Pad FHD 10 offers an attractive design, some useful apps and utilities, and excellent battery life. Unfortunately, its 1920 x 1200-pixel display is disappointingly dim, and its Intel Atom processor can be sluggish during everyday use.

The ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version of Android though ASUS does pre-load a number of its own apps. These include SuperNote Lite, and the ASUS Studio photo editing utility. There's also the addition of Miracast compatibility, which allows video to be streamed wirelessly to a compatible TV.

As a budget tablet, the Memo Pad HD 7 perfectly fits the bill. It's fast enough, has all the features you'd expect and a particularly vibrant screen. It's keenly priced and generally offers an excellent user experience. It's also light enough to use comfortably for extended periods. There's no 3G or 4G version of the HD 7 available, so if accessing the internet on the move is a priority, the Asus FonePad is probably the most viable option, despite its lack of camera and slightly inferior performance and audio/visual quality.

When we heard that Asus was incorporating Intel's robust Atom Z3745 processor into its entry-level Memo Pad 7 droid, it was hard not to get excited. After all, it's the same processor that can power full-fledged Windows tablets, and at a competitive price it has the potential to provide unparalleled power for this market segment.

For most use cases, the Asus MeMO Pad 7 is a good tablet: nothing amazing, nothing spectacular, just a stock standard tablet that’s good enough for its $150 price point. I was most impressed by the tablet’s display, which may only have a resolution of 1280 x 800, but packs decent color quality that can be adjusted to your liking through Asus’ Splendid application. We’re not quite at the stage where 1080p displays have transitioned to sub-$200 devices, so at this price there’s really nothing to complain about.

At £120, what’s not to like about the new MeMO Pad 7? It’s powerful, well made, frugal with power and has a pretty good camera for a tablet. The only criticism you can really make is that the screen resolution could be higher but in everyday use, that wasn't a failing I noticed. Oh, and it runs a wee bit hot sometimes. So, is the MeMO Pad 7 really the best affordable tablet you can buy? Yes: it’s much cheaper than the LG G Pad 8.3 or Google’s Nexus 7 and feels more grown up than the Tesco Hudl.

The Asus MeMO Pad 7 is a pleasant surprise. It's a great tablet for the price, with good performance and battery life. Just as the Google Nexus 7 reinvented what we expected for tablets under £200, the Asus MeMO Pad 7 changes what we'd expect from a £120 tablet. We'd be tempted to find another £50 for the superior Nexus 7, but if you’re looking to pick up a competent tablet for little money, it's a fantastic choice.

If you only have $150 for your next tablet, the Asus Memo Pad ME176CX is the best A-brand device you can get right now for that kind of money. It's a nice looking slate with a good screen, decent battery life and fast hardware, but it's not without flaws, as you'll find out from this review.

For one thing, the tablet is remarkably sturdy, despite weighing only a little more than half a pound and being a mere 0.38 inches thick. It doesn’t look particularly flashy, but ASUS gives the device a little flair by offering it in multiple colors. And the screen, though not the best we’ve seen, is bright enough and responsive enough for most users.

Last year, Asus seriously impressed us with its Asus Memo Pad HD 7. However, it doesn’t really feel like Asus has moved on much since. The new Asus Memo Pad 7 is clearly a product of the strong relationship between Intel and Asus, because its main improvement is in using the powerful 64-bit Intel Atom Z3745 processor. However, what the tablet really needed to stay ahead of the game was not more power, but more pixels.

At the end of the day the ASUS MeMO Pad 7 ME176C is a pretty decent tablet for $149.00 shipped. The 7-inch IPS LCD Display was found to be crisp with excellent viewing angles. The ASUS ZenUI over Android 4.4 KitKat was slick and best of all the performance was solid. The Intel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail processor is very powerful and could easily handle all the tasks that we threw at this Android tablet. We knew that the MemoPad 7 ME176C would give the Nexus 7 (2013) a run for the money and it easily outperformed the tablet in all the benchmark apps with the exception of one graphics test. It looks like Intel really does have a viable processor now that can take on Qualcomm, ARM and others in the mobile space.

The Memo Pad 7 comes in yellow, red, black, white or this rather delightful blue model. Overall, we found the design and build of the tablet to be surprisingly solid and attractive for a budget tablet. The bezels are small, and despite being plastic, the back has a smooth, premium-feel finish.

The sleek styling of the ASUS MeMO Pad 7 ME176CX combined with its zippy 1.33-GHz Intel Atom Baytrail processor makes this slate a steal at $149. While the battery life does not live up to last year's model, it's a fine trade-off for the increased performance. Those looking for even more speed and stylus input should take a look at the EVGA Tegra Note 7 tablet, but it's a more expensive $189 and doesn't last as long on a charge.

The older MeMO Pad HD 7 was one among the first crop of relatively good quality, sub-$200 Android tablets. The new MeMO Pad 7, which is in fact as high-definition as its predecessor, doesn't change much from the original formula. It comes in a more compact package and with a promising Intel processor, but the display can't hold a candle to full-HD panels like the one found on the Nexus 7. Still, at $150, the MeMO Pad 7 is a solid deal and totally capable of performing most of the tasks people demand of a small-screen tablet.

Asus has crafted a simple, straight to the point tablet with top-notch build quality and a slim and light chassis. Its specs won't set the world on fire, but it handles everyday tasks well enough. And it's hard to argue with that £119 price tag. If you're after something to surf the web, check your emails and play a few simple games on, Asus' tablet gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

Overall the Asus MeMo Pad 7 is an accomplished and affordable 7-inch Wi-Fi only tablet, even if it fails to truly excite and get the blood pumping. But with the Tesco Hudl its main nemesis, it does a good job of standing up against the supermarket giant: the Asus is the better looking bit of kit. However, and despite a decent angle of view from the screen, we find its reflective coating somewhat annoying, while the resolution isn't the best in class. Still, for £120 it's par for the course; if you demand more then look toward the latest Google Nexus 7 instead, assuming you have some extra cash to spend.

In terms of looks, the Asus MeMO Pad 8 is plain and unprepossessing. The rounded corners and Asus branding on the front are not a surprise. The long edge screen bezel is pleasantly narrow, so that the 8in screen fits into a reasonably small chassis at just 125mm wide and 212mm tall. It might just fit into some pockets.

The Asus Memo Pad 7 is an amazing high-end tablet with great features, like the intel atom processor and the elegant design. It comes with many customizable options whether for audio or display, so you'd feel the tablet really makes things easier for you.

Asus should have opted for a better name for Memo Pad 7 ME752C that sets it apart from the rest of the company's tablets, because on paper and in real life the slate is truly impressive. The beautiful screen is its key selling point and it is simply a pleasure to behold. This 7 incher is sharp, bright, with great viewing angles and accurate colors, which you can even tweak if you feel like it.

Overall, I’m pretty impressed with the tablet, with the exception of the inconsistent Wi-Fi performance. Since there are little or no successors to the 2013 Nexus 7, the MeMo Pad 7 ME572 seems like the best fit for a budget, mid-range performance 7” tablet.

The Asus MeMO Pad 7 ME572C is one of our favourite affordable Android tablets of recent times. Families will get more from the Hudl 2, with its excellent family features, but the MeMO Pad is great for anyone wanting to stay productive as well as entertained on the move.

The Asus MeMoPad 7 ME572C is an incremental upgrade from the Google Nexus 7 by Asus that steps up the necessary components while keeping everything else largely the same. In terms of price, it's not the best deal out there but it is a solid contender. If you can look past Asus' slew of pre-installed apps it's one of the best 7-inch tablets you'll find around at the moment.

Just as the Nexus 7 is old but still good, the Asus MeMO Pad 7 ME572C seems late, but still solid. It’s a 7-inch tablet when 8-inch models are suddenly becoming popular, and doesn’t reach anywhere near the budget pricing of something like the Tesco Hudl 2. This is the tablet we were longing for back in late 2013. All this time later, the Asus MeMO Pad 7 ME572C isn’t the value king it could have been, but ticks the display, performance and battery life boxes in style.

New memorandum? Asus wants to make a statement and elevates its 8-inch tablet from the Memo Pad series to the status quo of the class. The Memo Pad 8 ME581Cl represents the top model of this group; its price sits just above $355. It includes an Intel Atom quad-core 64-bit SoC, 2 GB RAM, a bright Full HD IPS display, fast ac-WLAN as well as LTE and NFC. In brief: Here, the mix works.
