To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The frequency of 480 Hz is relatively high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering. However, there are reports that some users are still sensitive to PWM at 500 Hz and above, so be aware.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 8746 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured.

性能 - 配备 AMD Zen 5(Strix Point)的 Zenbook

华硕提供各种不同的能耗配置文件,可以通过 MyAsus 软件进行选择。我们在标准模式下进行了以下基准测试和测量,笔记本电脑的能耗水平为 33/28 瓦。性能全性能这两个所谓更快的配置文件允许消耗的最大功率为 33 瓦,因此在 CPU 测试和连续负载时优势微乎其微,但使用这些模式时 GPU 的性能更弱。设备的噪音也过大(标准模式为 45.8 dB(A),耳语模式为 36.8 dB(A),低音模式为 28.9 dB(A))。

现在来谈谈处理器本身的性能。应该指出的是,Zenbook S 16 内的 HX 370 是一个较弱的版本,功率为 33/28 瓦,但其结果仍然令人印象深刻。与 Ryzen 7 8840HSHP Envy x360 2in1(40/26 瓦)相比,它在多核测试中的性能提高了 20-30%,具体取决于测试内容。英特尔的竞争产品普遍得益于其较高的短期功耗限制,尤其是在基准测试中,但如果考虑到 酷睿至尊 7 155H戴尔 XPS 16为例,其多核性能仅提高了 10-12%(但所需功耗也大幅提高,分别为 100 瓦/85 瓦),这的确是一项了不起的工作。

在基准测试中,我们普遍发现 AMD 已经成功缩小了与Intel Arc Graphics (8 Xe 内核)的差距。不过,由于功耗限制相对较低,Zenbook S 16 并没有充分展示出新 Radeon 890M 的潜力,这就是为什么我们也将ProArt PX13 在 iGPU 模式下的结果纳入对比。Zenbook S 16 使用更快的 LPDDR5x-7500 内存--与当前的ROG Ally X 相同。在合成测试中,Ally X 的 Radeon 780M 有时甚至更快(在涡轮增压模式下,其功耗在最初几分钟也更高),但在单项测试中差距最多只有 8%。不过,在HP Envy (配备 LPDDR5-6400 内存)中,780M 在所有基准测试中的领先优势达到了 27%。在所有测试中,它都明显优于两个骁龙 X Elite GPU 中速度较慢的一个(Adreno X1-85 ,3.8 TFLOPS)(我们尚未测试速度更快的 4.5 TFLOPS 版本,但理论上应该也能击败它)。
